Thanks for the suggestions and tips guys. Really appreciate it.
One
last question: What packs should I buy? Right now I'm looking for
weapons so I'm just purchasing Arsenal packs, with a few Premium Spectre
packs.
You won't need rare weapons on Silver, but maxed
uncommon weapons will help you play Gold should you ever want to move
up. So really you should buy Veteran Packs. You can get 3 every 2
matches of silver and theoretically you will slowly level up some
uncommon gear, and your common and uncommon weapons mods, which can really help.
I can see the appeal of buying the expensive packs though.
And you actually have some decent weapons. You don't need high level versions of the black weapons and both the Sabre and Indra are pretty good.
Score. 40K is fine in silver. You might be bottom but you are pulling your own. Basically if at the end of the match you can look back and ask yourself if you were contributing then you are probably fine on that level. If you feel like you can hang in Silver then play silver.
Re: Vorcha Engineer. Some characters are much better than others at scoring. They have powers that tag a lot of enemies and power/weapon selections that get full kills or get the final kills. The Vorcha Engineer is not one of those characters. However do not listen to people who say it is bad. It's actually a pretty solid character. The health regen is awesome and quite forgiving. You don't even need to put much into Bloodliust to make it worth it. Unlike his Vorcha friends and the Krogan Warlord (the other characters with health regen) he operates at range. All his powers are work at range. This makes you safer.
Rceommendations: Submission Net is his best power (after an obligatory 3 points in Bloodlust) Damage, Slow and Electric Pulse is really the only way to go. Duration is pointless because the duration you have is long enough to line up a headshot or empty a clip into them. Submission Net is next to useless against Armoured units though. It does hit them and it does do damage, but it will not stop them and it will only stagger them from the electric pulse if it is on someone else. Incinerate and shoot is your best friend against Dragoons for example.
But ultimately I think the best advice is to learn your characters, learn your enemies and learn which weapons work for you. A friend of mine is terrible with auto weapnos but great with single shot stuff. I am mostly the opposite.
And yeah MP really is a different beast to Sp. Cover is less advantageous and the maps are circular so you always have to watch your back instead of always moving forward.
