I PUG almost exclusively despite my full friends list.

I notice now far moreso than in the past, I enter a lobby or enter a game in-progress. I generally score first now in 90% of my matches by varying degrees, and I do rocketspam after the wave 10 objective because time.

I do objectives. I revive. I am not rocketing spawns on wave 11 to set any whooring records. Lately my mic is borked so I know I am not offending people with my verbal assault on the game...

....

So, after this obvious epeen post, my question is this:

Am I fugly?

Or are people so ego-involved in the scoring that humility dictates bailing on a sure thing? Victory isn't as sweet if you aren't the master commander?

Really though, beyond the obvious replies (IRL stuff happenz, you are not the center of the universe, for the world is hollow and I have touched the sky, etc etc), what gives BSN?

If the lobby isn' t set to UU I'll bail if pugs don't change the map or enemy settings
Even if it was a good match

PUGs don't want to have a good time or a successful game. It's all about nonsensical builds and a guarantee wipe.

There are several reasons pugs leave a lobby:

1. They didn't like the game. It might have nothing to do with you.
2. They didn't like the characters everyone was playing. It might have nothing to do with you.
3. They do care about score. In which case, they might mic up and call you some homophobic slurs before they leave.
4. You might've caught them as they were leaving. I know that when I'm pugging, I'll leave after a game to take a break It's one of the benefits of pugging - not having to play 4 or 5 games in a row.
5. Maybe you smell.

On PS3 "Waiting for other players" is an almost certainty after every match. Not sure about other platforms though...perhaps they have real life stuff to go take care of?

Statistics* show that 95% of PUGs stay together as a team when armor color/design schemes are harmonious and pleasing.

*These statistics are made up and utter BS.

Edit: Seriously... We don't know what's going on at the other side of our teammates' monitors. And some people like to hop around lobbies, just to keep things interesting for themselves. My personal reasons for leaving a lobby, even a very good one, are always RL or tech related. Like yesterday afternoon: had a great team, but I had to go because the kid was getting up from her nap and the hubby wanted to celebrate National Ice Cream Day at Graeter's.

Graeter's ice cream > ME3, just sayin'.

It's rare for me to stay in a PUG for more than 2-3 games. I'll usually take a break unless they are real fun. If they are really good then you can guarantee that I'll get disconnected on wave 4.

Unless I take a personal interest in some of the pugs, I'll quit out. Keeps things fresh I guess.

Also people probably don't want to stick around longer than they need to if they're playing with a self-aware fart.

For a game you enter in progress, there could very well be a reason someone else had already left, like it is laggy or they were just having a rough time before you joined.

Many people will leave a random lobby after a game regardless of their score or mission success.

I imagine most people only have time for one or two games. They'll leave a lot out of shame too.

My money is on fugly though.

A successful mission isn't always everything. I normally leave if some of the players do something stupid during objective waves, decide to nuke on extraction, or if I did too much of the killing (to avoid kick votes).

I usually bail after a PUG regardless. I don't like playing with the same random group for more than a maximum of 2 games in succession, especially if they ready up without equipment the second time because they think they don't need it anymore or w/e.

^This^  I'll usually only play a couple of Gold or Plat games in a row then take a break. It keeps burn-out at bay.

Lag issues

Didn't prefer the map or enemy choice. U/U/G or set enemy/map combination

First sight of Collector/Gold 3 of 4 would leave my lobby.
I never play the same faction twice and circulate after every match.

Always leave Unknown Map though.

Is have more to do with Map/Enemy, since most PUG are not comfortable with every kit or weapon in their hand on Gold. Why play for another 20 min when it annoy you to no end

It's not just most people preferring episodes 4, 5, & 6 but that they actively dislike 1 thru 3. What's really a shame is that Liam has done great things with hammy characters since then. It really would have improved the films if he'd channeled his performance from The Grey or Taken. Frankly, I think a name change might be your only option.

Otherwise, I'd blame a higher likelihood of lag due to a smaller and more scattered player base.

Some reasons that come to mind:

-drink
-bathroom
-smoke
-walk dog
-friends sent invite
-laggy game

-health (I have a blood clotting disorder, not only am I on bloodthinners but I have to stand up and walk around after every match or two to keep blood moving)

-respec
-build character(s)
-buy packs

-etc.

I leave after almost every pug game. I only stay if someone amuses me.

Nice thing about pugs is every lobby will be a different experience. Playing with friends is almost always the same...

Many reasons. In no particular order...

When pugging like to mix it up

People from my FL came online and I went to play with them.

I had to pee.

Hungry, went in search of eats.

Company stopped over or going out.

People might think I am friendly if I stay more than one match. Drop into a match at wave 2 or 3; after the game let the N7 4500's see they just got outscored by a N7 120 toting a Harrier I.......walk away like a boss.

I just have a habit of leaving and finding a new game all the time. I finish the game, leave, see what things I want to do next. I might spend 5 mins deciding on another character or loadout, I don't like to leave a group hanging.

I don't think about it, I just leave usually after the credits are in. Maybe I'll try sticking around a bit longer next time I play. Just to change it up.
