tbh I dont play him much bc he has a very vanilla power set and feels boring when compared to all the shiny, newer classes and powers.ROBOTICSUPERMAN wrote...
Turian sentinel! Is he not just amazing?
Chain overloading every thing to strip shields and stagger all the things, then ripping bosses to shreads with warp, blowing up tech armour for lols, and gunning sh*t down with a hail of bullets destroying any foe idiotic enough to defy him.
And if that isn't enough, he can assist any team mate and help them dish out more damage, be it tech or biotic.
He is able to move around cover like a ninja in a blender(almost)
But when that Preatoria starts to fire his laser, just stand there and carry on shooting and take it like an alien, and use a spec ops, because you haven't a hope in hell of dodging it.
why do you think that so few pugs play this badass?
He is a realy simple, but effective character with multiple build capabilities, but because he is not a jugg, pugs give him verry little love.

so after further analysis (a presuming a Hurricane X because it's a high DPS weapon), shield damage in overload balances out the loss of DPS from the weapon from rank 6 passives. Of course the weapon damage is good against all protection types and overload only versus shields, but I would argue the utility of overload is an even more important advantage.
If you're using a weapon with significantly less deeps than a 'Cane then shield damage wins over rank 6 passives easily.
Hurrdurrcane... Eww... Yuck. I'd rather retain my self respect than use that POS.
But... but... Turricane Soldier is so yummy and delicious.
But... The Punisher Soldier has barbaric style... And he doesnt get all those false HurrDurrcane reloads.
Damn, that reminds me that I *still* haven't tried the BPP TSol build yet. I need to.
Perhaps I'll use that as motivation to try something new and fun this weekend. Although, I guess I've been leaning towards the Hurricane because I have that at X while my BPP is only VII.
Having the Punisher at VII should not rock the boat too much. Just take heat sink and extended clip, AP IV ammo and one of your 255 stabilization mods. If you need to make long range shots take hard cover.

Only five ranks in Overload and Warp? Six ranks in tech armor? Doesn't really make sense to gimp your power damage for what little survivability you get through rank 4 in fitness and rank 6 in TA. I've seen some good builds from you, but this isn't one of them.megabeast37215 wrote...

I see no need for Warp/Incendiary cheese on this guy as he is incredibly dominant anyway. Nor do I feel the need for max Overload, but I could see an argument being made for it over rank 4 of fitness.
Six ranks of tech armor is there to augment whatever shield gear I put on him. It lets me get more value out of a Cyclonic and if I use Shield Power Cells I get my shields back faster, but they are better quality shields bc of the DR. As I've said in the thread, I can see an argument for rank 6 of overload being better than rank 4 fitness... But I'd rather a dodgeless character be tanky than have better offense.

I ran mine 5/6/6/6/3 in gold pugs yesterday and found him tanky enough (without equipment), even against cerberus. If you slap a cyclonic on that build he's tanky enough for plat. IMO both warp and overload are too good to not max them. I'd rather put less points in TA and fitness than sacrifice his god-like passives or offensive powers.megabeast37215 wrote...

I used that build for a while but I find him to be slightly tankier now with 36665. Anyway, I'd always choose to max overload, warp and passives so it just comes down to finding a balance between tech armour and fitness.

@stine take a look at Max's thread. Arc pistol is a beast on him and has better cooldown.

Over time I've experimented with different builds for the Turian Sentinel, but this is the one I eventually settled on. It's nothing ground-breaking, but I've found it very effective.Cirvante wrote...

It's a hard choice, but I choose the power damage instead to get more out of Overload and Warp. His weapon damage is high and I'm pretty good with the Phaeston, so if I'm getting headshots, they're usually done pretty quick anyway so I don't really miss the boost to headshot damage in the long run.capn233 wrote...

15% power damage is laughable compared to 30% more weapon damage against almost every enemy.Matthias King wrote...

Well, for me I generally don't have a lot of trouble with enemies who are vulnerable to headshots, aside from Phantoms, so I never worried about it too much. I'll keep the power damage for use on shields and armor on bosses.Cirvante wrote...

That 30% headshot bonus from passives applies to all enemies that have a head/ weakspot - including bosses.

I choose not to get neural shock as you cant headshot enemies very well when they're lying on the floor

I still prefer Neural shock because it doubles damage to organic shields/ barriers.

I say use Power Damage if you have to worry about shield-gate (e.g., my Crusader-TSent), and you need every drop of shield-busting power out of Overload to one-shot enemies. Go Headshot Damage if you don't.Matthias King wrote...
