Just Because You Like a Character, Doesn't Mean They're Perfect.

There's not reason to be blinded just because they make your nuggets tingle.
So here are my favourite characters, and things about them I don't like (not saying the writers shouldn't have wrote them that way - I don't want to like everything about a character).
1. Sten
Dislikes: I dislike how he goes all "kissy face" on you after finding his sword. If he was more honorable, he would've acknowledged the Warden's prowess before she found it. I also dislike him insisting on going straight after the Archdemon.
2. Leliana
Dislikes: Her constant talk of the Maker is grating to my ears. She's 33-35 years old, and she talks/acts like a teenager while seducing elves almost half her age (wtf?!).
3. Fenris
Dislikes: "mages, mages, mages, mages, mages". He's jealous of mages. That's pretty clear. His insecurity has driven him to hate, and it's sour to the mouth.
4. Flemeth
Dislikes: "hello, flemeth" *flies away*. She uses the PC+companions as object of mental stimulation. Oh, with her sarcasm, outlandish personality, etc. She uses us for amusement, and there's nothing we can do about it.
5. Alistair
Dislikes: "duncan, duncan *cries*, duncan, *stutters*, duncan, 'i luve u', duncan". I don't like his fetish with Duncan, or his care for a man that treated him like a dog. He's naive, a pushover, a manchild... I like to harden him and make him king. Best buddies with my elves.

That's good. You can acknowledge they're well written, but don't have personalities tailored to your liking.

I think it is obvious that no character will appease to all sorts of tastes, and I believe they are not meant to. If they convey any emotions in you (either positive or negative), it means writers have succeeded. And I like most of the characters you mentioned. Though they aren't flawless, they are specific, unique.

I hardly see a point of this topic.

The point of this topic is to acknlowedge that even our favourite characters have flaws (many). Sometimes fans will make the weirdest excuses for these flaws, but when it all comes down to it, everyone does things for a reason. The writers made it so, and these flaws attract me to the character even more.
It's not just here, but in sports, books, movies, etc. There's something common in fans not wanting to acknowledge the flaws of their favourites, instead resorting to some of the creepiest excuses.

like real people, there isn't a "perfect" person in the world. if this person exist, or is fake, or is some kind of saint (but even saint were persons, so they must have had some kind of flaws before became saint.)
what I think it break the "realism" is when the charaters present ONLY their flaws, or speak about them too much. Alistair was almost on this train, but he made a lot of jokes during the game, and you can harden him, so he will quite stop.
Fenris is ALWAYS is totally against mages. I don't really remember a single conversation where there is no mention of Danarius/I hate mages/magic is evil in all the game. (of course, the same goes with Isabela, Merrill, and Anders. I liked Varric and Aveline because they have more varius arguments.)

I hate her because of her naivety. Even after her mistress betrayed her, had her thrown in prison for treason and raped, Lelianna is still is too naive to deliver full vengeance upon her and simply lets her walk away even after murdering countless soldiers just to get to her.
Then she gets angry when you make a few decisions for the greater good after her dark past.
Morrigan? She's just a anti-social b**** who is actually quite naive of the civilized world. "Oh if I find your daughter Blacksmith I'll tell her to run to safety it's no biggie as I'm going into the castle anyways" you say and then she comes out with her cold hearted reply as though you're stopping your quest because you're keeping an eye out while in the castle. Pray to The Maker or help someone out and she's all disapproving of it. Suddenly when her life comes on line she comes begging you to help her and her naivety extends so far that she becomes a little girl when she starts to love you. It was good using her and then ramming the murder knife into her in Witch Hunt. Thankfully she's still alive so my Inquisitor can finish the job of my Warden (hopefully. Make it so Bioware).
And nope. I didn't bring her abominable child into the world. Screw that.
Sten? I agree with you on him OP. Especially the part where he thinks attacking the archdemon head on is a good idea and accuses you of poor leadership for not going through with his crappy plan which is lacking any thought.
Alistair? I like him but his constant whining about Duncan is annoying. Couldn't care about his thoughts on The Arl Demon.
Anders? He's turned from a rebellious comedian mage (the only mage I liked in both DA games next to Wynne) to a whining flamboyant homosexual demon-possessed cry-baby in DA2 who doesn't even resemble his former self. "KARL! WHAAAAAAAAAAAA! THE TEMPLARS KILLED KARL! NOT KARL! I LOVE YOU KARL!!!" I like Anders in Awakening but not in DA2. Oghren's joke when he mimics Anders in Awakening "Oh no big Templar man, what are you going to do with that sword?" was more accurate than it seems in DA2.
Isabella? User. ****. Disgusting. Even Zevran has standards and is at least funny. By Act III you just get the impression Isabella is doing it with everyone and has so many STD's (supported by the fact she is seen walking out of Anders' clinic once) from that.
Aveline? "Whaa, whaa, whaaa, justice, whaaa, whaaa, city, whaa whaa wha captain of the guardsssssssss. Dominic. Dominic! DOMINIC!" Nuff said.

She did tell Wynne that people think she (Leliana) is younger than she is. Not something I'd expect a 26 year old to say.

One of devs said that this age in toolset is real actors age not character. But i doubt that she was so old in origins a little younger.
I don't like flemeth much be she seems "You can't kill me" or "always win" character no matter what you do.

I dislike most of the companions, and no I would not acknowledge that they're well written. Oghren, the drunken dwarf who has abysmal hygiene habits? How original... Now, Alistair I love...he does a very good job cleaning up my mabari's poop in camp - at least he's good for that...until he gets his head chopped off at the Landsmeet, but I cut him some slack there since it's hard to find the mabari's poop without a head.

Loghain is in my opinion the best character in Origins, but if he's perfect, Meredith is a fervent pro-mage.

this so much this, it's one of the most boring types of character just after the disney vilain who is a vilain because being bad feels good or whatever (one of the big reasons dark side characters in star wars bore me to death, nobody in the real world thinks he is evil ever.)

I'm pretty sure you're off on her age, but what's the deal with the remark about elves? Leliana doesn't seduce any elven character, aside from the Warden. And she never hits on the Warden on her own; she only reciprocates any affection showed to her.
