Jealous of mages? Why cause Anders says so? Funny how I don't see him listed here nor Merrill and they have  a large group of ppl who over look their glaring flaws. Anyway Fenris' flaws is that he is pig headed and very stubborn.

If you take him to the fade, the temptation for him is to be as powerful as the Tevinter mages.

Flemeth owes no one anything. besides i like that better than the constant fawning over the PC every other NPC does.

Yesh, Flemeth is awesome. Doesn't mean I have to enjoy how she uses the PC.

I agree. makes me wonder if he wasn't in love with Duncan. LOL! it would have been cool if he could harden himself after his encounter with his sister.

By that point, I pity him, so I do what I can to force him into being King.

Add ons:

Anders

Dislikes: Whining crybaby. templars this and templars that. Opression everywhere. He's nothing but a liar and a user. Along with being  a mass murderer.

A hypocrite..

Merrill

Dislike: Thinks she's more clever than she really is. Demon worshipper and elf supremacist.

Prideful, manipulative, and in constant denial (until her clan is killed off)

Isabella

Dislike: STDs

Flemeth has had sex with more men that Isabela (I think), but it's not something that really matters. Isabela is somewhat of a joke. It's like "yes, we get it. you like sex.".

I guess it's more about different tastes with Flemeth. I love her character because she uses the PC. The fawning over him/her (PC) can get annoying. :)

With Fenris, he wanted power to rival the tevinter mages in order to fight them, this is what the demon tempts him with. At that time they were still hunting him and he pretty much would have to rely on Hawke's goodwill to save himseelf. Considering the fact that there are two ways Hawke can totally fail him(not going after Hadriana and turning him over to Danarious) I can't blame him for wanting enough power to fight them on his own. I would call Fenris a hypocrite for going along with the demon after chastizing the mages who have fallen prey, he doesn't seem to let up after experiencing first hand how manipulative demons can be.

It's a bit like saying water is wet, but okay.

Or maybe I'm the only one who likes characters *because* of their flaws.

Yes, imagine a Fenris who is all... "I was tortured and raped by mages, but I understand not all mages are like that." *smiles* Anders and Merrill, I would kindly warn you that you are treading on dangerous waters, my friends. I understand your intentions are pure, but magic can corrupt even the kindest souls." *comforting hand on their shoulders*

^ You miss the point. It isn't about wanting the character's personality to change, as that might be what draws us to them. However, that doesn't mean we have to enjoy it.

I'm drawn to Flemeth because of her aloofness, sarcasm, etc., but I do not actually find enjoyment from her using those qualities on the PC.

I do not enjoy hearing Fenris whine about mages the whole game, but it's a quality that shapes his character, makes him interesting, and causes an emotional response (whether you're pro-mage or pro-templar). He had a reason for believing as he did, and I became more interested in his backstory as the game went on.

I know, right?! Yeahhh, she's funny, but I wouldn't want to ever shake her hand or drink after her. :?

I can't stand Merrill, so I had to be with Isabella during my Man-Hawke playthrough while on my way to that utterly useless but still awesome platinum trophy and I was like just likeee

Oh I see (I think). Well I'm sorry you didn't enjoy that about him. ^_^

@motomogirl: You mean a Fenris who actually reconciled his problems?

I find that far more appealing in a person actually.

Of course - you're resorting to melodramatic hyperbole - but I got your point.

Fenris' arc of acceptance could have gone a litlte deeper. He is more content with his life and his situation when he agrees to stay with a romanced Hawke. He agrees to fight for the mages in a pro-mage ending. I think it could have gone just a step or two further... but overall I'm deeply touched and happy with Fenris' entire character.

"Reconcile" his problems is almost too much to ask... maybe just "heal" a little more. But he'll forever be a scarred and damaged person. Rather like a woman recovering from abuse who never fully trusts men again.

My man Hawke slept with isabella on my first playthrough and i felt kind of dirty afterwards. I'm glad that she is responsible enough to get herself checked out but still...

Sorry. Cullen is perfect.

Apart from that time where his 'festering mental scars' lead to a major mental break down and murder of 3 mages. At least, that's how it ended in my Origins play through. I always saw him as a paranoid and delusional kind of guy :?

It's a video game, for crying out loud. I'm not going to worry about STDs or angst.Immersion is a good thing but there is a limit. I can be the **** of Ferelden and everyone will fall on the ground at my feet. Do I need a reason?

Why do they star out perfectly acceptable words? For my previous comment, insert lady of negotiable affection.

3. Fenris

Dislikes: "mages, mages, mages, mages, mages". He's jealous of mages. That's pretty clear. His insecurity has driven him to hate, and it's sour to the mouth.

5. Alistair

Dislikes: "duncan, duncan *cries*, duncan, *stutters*, duncan, 'i luve u', duncan". I don't like his fetish with Duncan, or his care for a man that treated him like a dog. He's naive, a pushover, a manchild... I like to harden him and make him king. Best buddies with my elves.

I agree. I like them and all but gawd, get over it already.

That's really fascinating, but this has nothing to do w/ ME.

You should really play DA:O.

I think some of the characters could have used more dialogue. Miranda, and Ashley didn't feel complete.

Too much focus was put on Miranda's genetics. It wouldn't be so bad if they made her go all out (like Fenris).

I used to hate Ashley, but Origins makes me wish she was a companion. She can be pragmatic, but not heartless. Someone who will confront you, but not in a nonsensical manner.

I think garrus is perfect because he's imperfect. He's one of the more realer characters in ME because of his flaws and actions.

The romance with him was very satisfying, and heartwrenching, as well.
