So is there any way the new consoles will be able to support more than 4 player coop?

Not if Microsoft and Sony continue to restrict network bandwidth limitations. I think ya'll forget that that's the real issue, not console hardware. DICE had an 80-plus player Battlefield 3 game via Xbox 360 consoles on a LAN with no problems console wise. It can be done with current consoles, but not with the networks.

That is going to largely depend on if they stay in this cycle or go forward/backwards in time. I've always felt it would be easiest for them to go back to the Prothean cycle to start a new trilogy... Since they painted themselves into a narrative corner with the lackluster ME3 ending.

That they did...

Still, I think it'd be very difficult finding a better narrative for MP than the Reaper War. I wouldn't mind at all if the SP continued sometime after the ME3 credits rolled with a new character, and the MP was still about the Reaper War. Give the battles the scale they deserve. Tell another story via the probable MP story mode. Bring back old units for factions like the Geth (Hopper, Juggernaut, Colossus) and the Collectors (Assassin, Guardian), while introducing new ones to give the battles scale/depth. Bring some nostalgia by bringing back old kits we've come to love, but give them a new twist. Add in never before seen kits to spice things up.

There's a lot they can do with the Reaper War in terms of MP, and if you ask me, I don't think anything short of a Galactic level extinction threat could get so many races working together again. Having another Galactic threat would be kinda clichè. The Prothean era would be hard as balls to pull off (introduce new species, no familiar races/weapons/tech/abilities/characters, if we get attatched to the old races, it'd be difficult when they move back into the future and we realize they're all dead, etc.). I'm casting my vote for a re-telling of the Reaper War.

Of course, they could just drop the MP from the canon (i.e. nothing in MP matters as it's not connected to any sort of SP story arc), but I think that's when the game would become too mainstream and pointless as CoD.

Man...BW's got their hands full with Next Effect.

I wonder if Bioware even hears ideas from the fans and tries to incorporate them?

I know they were accepting suggestions from fans directly a while back. As to whether any Bioware employee actually reads their own forums for fan input besides the new mods, ****ed if I know.

One thing is for sure, there are a lot of people on here who have devoted a lot of time playing Me3MP and the series as an entirety including myself. It would seem wise for them to take fan input seriously. Granted we are very opinionated creatures so not everyone will get their wish. Nonetheless, I am excited to see what they turn out, soon.

Yes, I agree BP.  We can all whine WAY too much.

But there is some real legit stuff that was found here.  They'd be foolish to ignore those type of issues.

Yep, that is what I was saying above.  It's all about network BW and the size of the pipe between the home and the network.

I would gladly see the death of all solos for a more in-depth, cooperative, team-chemistry-dependant, multiplayer experience.

You can solo in single player.

Agreed. It won't stop them from trying, but at least it'd be a real achievement.

You guys have got me thinking a lot about this now. I wonder how many new units each faction would get (assuming they were to return, of course)?

TBH, I'm not loving the "back in time" option.  That's just me though.

I'm not either.

They'd have to introduce a lot of new races, the only familiar one being Protheans/Collectors. We know they all die later, so we'd already be desensitized to 'em. If we somehow do get attached, it would be kinda sucky watching them bite it. You think the "bring back Protheans" argument was bad. Imagine how many "Bring back x species!" campaigns would kick off.

Nah, I think I'd rather they go forward with the story. Or, if they're going to go back, at least go back close enough to where we can see most of the races/faces we're familiar with. Would be lame to play the entire game and the only cameo we get is Javik.

Going forward past the events of ME3 would be great. There's a lot of potential there.

And new characters to come to enjoy. Like ME1 all over again.

What would be the ending which would be choosen to structure the universe. Synethesis?

8 Drones and 24 Geth turrets active at the same time.

How many rockets can 8 rocket troopers fire at the same time?

Having more enemies and more players in the lobby can be a fun idea. But one problem is to get all 8 players ready up in a timely fashion. Some lobbies already take an atrocious amount of time to start with just 4 players.

Destroy is the only possible ending to continue a story. Synthesis and Control leave no room for conflict.

The only issue really for trying to continue Mass Effect is, what enemy could possible compare to the threat of the Reapers?

They might as well just save possible framerate loss and give the geth "stun vision" so all they would have to do is look at the player if out of cover to stun them.

Sure do love me some artificial difficulty.

Reaper tech plus a lot of old rivalries like Humans and Batarians, Krogans and Salarians, etc could make for some interesting storylines.

I'd like coop similar to GRAW 2 with the 16 man fire teams.

I'd advocate Destroy, but I really can't imagine Mass Effect without Geth. Edi, I can live without, but Geth? No way.

I dunno, I like it but I hate the idea of lagging or over competitiveness between players. It's hard enough to get kills when its 4 of us, so 6 of us or 8.. And imagine the mic chatter?
I would love more slots cause I have a lot of friends, but I shudder about everything that might go wrong.

Any of the ending could work. Look at the SP ending they came up with.
