There's nothing quite as satisfying as being charged by two Geth Primes while you're wearing nothing but light armour and then casting singularity and gunning them both down... I main Adept and you should too.
Vanguard or Adept or Sentinel?!

Personally, I'm torn between continuing as a Vanguard, or switching to a Soldier.
Are we still able to pick a bonus talent as in the last game, where I'd be able to take the Assault Rifle skill for my Vanguard? I'd very much like to have both that, and the charge move.

You will be able to learn new talents, or at least weapons, somehow. The exact process for how this is achieved has not been revealed, I believe.
I'm going with Vanguard. I don't know why people think it's going to be at a disadvantage on the higher difficulties; charge is not an offensive ability in itself and shouldn't be used as such. It's a mobility tool, and the Vanguard will be the most mobile class of them all, on any difficulty setting. Of all the weapons in the game, the shotgun will be the most devastating at close range. There's a lot of synergy there with charge, but it's not the only tactic the vanguard should use. You've got to know when to charge, and equally important, when not to. You have other biotics for those moments when you need to use cover.

The tech armor just put the icing on the cake for me.

We can't answer this question for you. You're going to have to make up your own mind, but we can give you a rundown of each class to help you decide.
Adept: the biotic master. Has more crowd control potential than any two classes combined. If you like manipulating your enemies, and only use your weapon when you feel like it or when it's necessary, this class is for you.
Vanguard: the biotic soldier. The ultimate close quarters combat class. Shotgun, charge and have fun. High risk, high reward. It's easy to die as a vanguard, if you accidentally charge the wrong target or a group of too strong enemies. If the equation Shotgun+Face=Fun is true for you, you're going to like being a vanguard.
Sentinel: The jack of all trades. Has plenty of direct damage abilities, like Warp, Cryo Blast and Overload. It also is one of the most sturdy classes you can pick due to tech armour. Sentinel can also take any opponent defense down easily. Warp > Armor and Barrier, Overload > Shields.
I'm going Adept, personally. When you've made up your mind, be sure to vote for the respective class in the poll you can find in my signature

In the first game, I was even able to kill enemies from across the room with a shotgun. The aim required a bit of correction, but it was possible. The charge move is just going to make it so much easier to get in close and shoot people in the face with the shotgun. It's almost unfair.

Weapons have been rebalanced to account for location damage, I wouldn't assume that you'll be able to snipe with the shotgun in this game.

I've played all three, and I love Vanguard and Sentinel; Adept not so much. I really enjoy Charge, so Vanguard was fun from that standpoint. Sentinel is great because Shepard has Warp AND Overload, the two best powers in the game, plus Tech Armor, which helps a lot. Adept has Singularity, but by itself it isn't that special, and now that there's a tech version of it (Combat Drone), it's really not special anymore. :/
Of course, my favorite class by far is Infiltrator, but I'm a natural born sniper. I really dislike playing a Soldier, I am not a frontal assault fighter by nature. Engineer is in the same category as Adept for me, they are pretty interchangeable, neither is that compelling. It's a bummer, because Adept was my favorite class in ME1, now I find it rather limiting. You hide in cover and spam Warp and Singularity, that's about all you can do.
