I've tried both a sniper and a shotgun build, and I think both are great, but I couldn't decide which is better...

The sniper build seems to be a bit safer to play as you only Shadow Strike when you really need to, while the shotgun build comes with a speedier, more hectic playstyle, with, of course, a lot more Shadow Striking.

I think the Black Widow is the best weapon for the sniper build, but I couldn't really decide what to use on the shotgun build. The Wraith is okay, but it feels that there could be a better shotgun that I could use (I don't know which, though).

What weapons do you use on the Shadow?

Any light shotgun for Omniblade + your highest damage light SMG with HVB is probably usual combo for Shadow.

Well… you can go for the reegar obviously. Other than that, I love the Claymore or Raider on her, since you go super close range and can use the Shadow Strike reloading trick.

I use the wraith but I hardly fire it with this build. Shadow Strike all the things! Except Atlases and sometimes things on ramps/stairs.

I know some people always defend Shadow Sniper build... but let`s always consider that she is possibly the single worst Infiltrator for sniping.

Pretty much the only kit on which I use the Claymore, since the power reload cancel cheat comes in handy with Shadow Strike

I don't think I've used the Reegar (and the Harrier) in the last few months apart from solo games, just out of principle.

Before the Shotgun Omniblade mods came in, I've used the Acolyte on the Shadow, it was okay-ish too.

I always take the Geth Scanner instead of Hydraulic Joints for a SS build, increased situational awareness makes up for the minimal decrease in melee damage.

Decrease in her SS damage forgivable only if you can still one hit kill Dragoon, Phantom & Pyros.
Otherwise, I think you are better off with anything that can help your SS damage.

This is my main build. Tactics: Run around as fast as a ninja.(obvious) Raid everything to the face and hide reload with ES for some FE's. It needs be played in the face of the enemey, if you want to cancel ES and still hit. Ravagers are pain, better have some range. You'll get stuck in a Banshee sometimes, when really close and she activates her "lol nope only weapon" barrier.

Claymore. I use shadow strike situationally, so I don't use melee mods on it either. Electric slash for fire explosions, and use it (along with SS) for reload hiding.

I actually like shadow strike since this ability is unique to  this kit.

The shield drain evo on ss is a very good option in my view, since it keeps you going.
As equipment strength enhancer and power amp, as gear Juggernaut Shield,  but I think Geth Scanner is a very good or even better choice as long as you can onehitkill certain foes as e.g. dragoons etc. as was mentioned above already.
As weapons I usually take acolyte (just because it is light weight) with power mod and melee stunner + hurricane (ULM+HVB) or just talon, but i could imagine that shotgun + omniblade could givge very good results too.
