Geth scanner is evil and wants to burn my eyes out of my head so I just use a pistol/smg amp for a lil more weapon damage personally. I will however agree that elemental ammo is terrible on him level 7 fire explosions or tech burst vs level 24 cryo explosions... not a hard choise there, AP ammo ftw.

Get some else to bring a kit with chain overload for massive cryo explosions.

Shockwave works really well for that too.

Phase disruptor.......but seriously nothing beats triple chain overload.......now if only the combat drones chain lightning detonated combos as well

I didn't spec into incinerate in my Paladin build. I also went with cyro-shield so I could slow things down if they come close.

I usually go Pirahna + Juggernaut shield on my paladin with cyro ammo, shield amp, and shotgun amp for platinum and gold games.

Yeah, his powers are so good, it's almost cheating. And he has dat shield. I find him difficult to play because there are so many combos possible. It's like an all-you-can-eat buffet.

Or how much more love kits with cryo blast would get if it actually primed enemies that matter.

The same thing can be said for infiltrators (TC is still ridiculous), Warp, Incendiary grenade, incinerate etc etc. Half of the classes  are broken. In fact, the Paladin isn't more broken than others.

Or how many people would melee more if his fire shields actually primes correctly off host.

The great Remzfire69 once said "I feel dirty playing Paladin".

If you have to go there, he has 2 broken powers. Name another kit that has 2 broken power as well.

I'll give you three on the same kit : TC + Snap + Repair matrix
TC + Warp + Dark channeller is also valid no ?

Just for the sake of argument, not that it really matters, the AIU has 2 as well snap freeze and tac cloak(you can throw powers and still get your weapon damage bonus without bonus power).

A great character. Between the MQE and Paladin, you can get all your tech explosion challenge points in a little over 2 games.

The N7 Paladin is one of my fav kits in the entire game. The ease and efficiency with which he can prime and detonate tech explosions is ridiculous.Tech burst, cryo explosions, fire explosions - he can do them all on his own! If you have another engie in you team, the destruction level is epic! Snap freeze being buggy certainly helps his cause though! :)

So I read somewhere that they are good to go on fitness 4 and to spend the remaining points on e drain or another power? Does that work on the higher settings? Isn't that kind of ditching his primary gimmick/skill or is the elemental effect on the shield redundant?

You can go 6/6/6/6/0 on a paladin and still be viable/tanky if you use energy drain correctly. However, usually I go with 5 in the passives tree and 3 in fitness. They key to being a paladin is to prevent damage from happening by snapp freezing/staggering cryo combos or to mitigate it by energy draining. Actually, Platinum is EASIER for the paladin, since if you get reapers on Gold there is only ONE units to drain from, but on PLat there are always some geth in the mix.

This is the way I spec him as a "caster". I very rarely use the shield for melee.

If you want the melee effect on the shield, it would probably best to ditch incinerate. Never ditch Snap freeze or energy drain. Both are amazing powers.

Drell infiltrator. Recon mine itself is awesome, but Recon mine spam due to TC cooldown? Well, almost all infiltrators are broken anyway, so...

Real Paladins go melee.
