I don't have to define it. I don't have to prove anything. I only have to show that you haven't conclusively proved it can't exist. Prove to me this technology can't exist. Tell me which physical law it violates.

.  You posited that the technology exists, burden of proof belongs to ?  you

That's self-evident. The story takes place in the far future. We see clear evidence of very advanced medical technology throughout the game. There's no way any reasonable person would think that medical technology unavailable now wouldn't exist.

I've met my burden.

And yet that technology is only used once and is never referenced again or never brought to the attention of others

. There is evidence of advanced medical technology such as gene therapy.  HOWEVER.  We see no evidence of death curing technology until Lazarus, said technology is not explained.  This being ME, there are two options.

Reaper tech, or space magic.

Lazarus is only used once because only once in the series does a character of such importance to the galaxy die in such circumstances. Despite what people have said, Lazarus is in no way a 'cure for death.'

You'll notice there's no Mass Effect example for Lazarus under 'A Wizard Did It.' I can assure you such a thing wouldn't last.

Which would mean that any new technology in any story in existence is 'space magic,' then?

When have we ever seen said technology restore one's brain functions, much less bring them back from the dead outside that one instance?

Yet it brought Shepard back to life who was the worst kind of dead

Biotics is space magic and yet Bioware found a way to explain it with-in their lore

I see. So Lazarus would have been A-OK with some technobabble from Miranda, then?

Biotics is not 'space magic' in any negative sense.

.  An intact brain witgout oxygen is a very messy paperweight.

And so were Tevos and Sparatus, Valern looked pretty old tbh.

His brain still lost oxygen after he died which would cause brain damage

Him being young and healthy doesn't add anything

When it explicitly contradicts known physiological science without explanation? Yup. Coming up with new tech to solve problems is fine, until it directly clashes with what we know.

It's fine to acknowledge the leap in logic and dig it anyway; that's the case with the Prothean cipher, too, among other things. Your position supporting it as suitable writing, however, leaves a lot to be desired.

.  Biotics are the result of in game lore, eezo disruption of brain tissue.  Lazarus comes out of left field and does not build off of previously established lore.

No, it would have sucked regardless. Technobabble was not what we needed. Actual plot development based on a new miracle cure for death is. Unfortunately, death doesn't do anything for ME2's plot that putting Shepard in a coma for a few years wouldn't have done, and without raising all sorts of questions.

What 'known physiological science' does Lazarus contradict again? Please give me something more substantial than this little litany of "It's a brain, it can't be touched."
