It came to my mind that some decisons that you make in Mass effect 1 could be decide if you survive the sucide mission.

The biggest idea that comes to my mind is if you let the counicl die and humans are in control will they come and save you and your team just before your party gets overwhealemed and dies. Or if you let the council live they won't come and save your team before you are all overwhealemed and  you and your team end up fighting your way out and some of party don't survive.

I doubt any decision from ME1 will have that big of an impact on ME2. They have to factor in all those players who just buy ME2 without having played the first title.

That's why I think that all decisions made in ME1 will probably only have a somewhat cosmetic influence on ME2. No way is BW burning heap-loads of resources on features many players won't be able to experience by default.

hmm...I imagine that it could influence it slightly, but I get the feeling that your decisions in ME1 set the stage for ME2, and that your decisions in ME2 are the ones that actually count towards the mission.

Still, I can imagine bioware pulling a fast one and having Conrad screw you over in the end if you were a jerk...or sacrifice himself for you if you weren't.

your choices in me1 will probably make me2 an easier experience. you will probably have more favors and friends. more quests, exp and rewards. the quests probably all exist with or without the me1 import, but if you have the me1 data then the characters will act more friendly to you. you might have more dialogue tree options too.

so no, no direct impact on the story of me2, as others have said, it has to be a stand-alone title. but it will definitely make the experience more deep and self-referential.

Maybe they'll take it even further and have whether or not you were nice to Conrad Verner be the thing the fate of the galaxy depends on in ME3 ;)

More seriously, it's an interesting idea, but I agree somewhat with the first response.

There is a good chance that they will make things easier or more difficult. But only slightly.

*Spoilers*

For example having Wrex around, who unites all the tribes, would probably make the experience on Tuchunka easier than when they are not united.

ME1's choices won't affect the suicide mission

Devs said that ME1's choices indirectly affect the player and you won't have a completely different experience 'cos of your ME1's choices

Besides, the Gamers TM review said choices don't change much of the game. It's mostly dialogue changes and ME1 person replaces X person

I'm thinking the Rachni Queen decision will have some interesting effects.

Could be great. Personally, I'd love the "Let rachni queen go" decision to screw up those who took it in the very end of ME3. But I doubt BioWare is ready for such a big twist.

Probably the most interesting of the lot.

Because it may end up with a race that helps you or attacks you or no race at all.

As a slight aside - people keep talking about Conrad Verner coming back and messing with you if you were a jerk to him. But I thought... trying to remain unspoilerific here, I thought if you were a jerk to him he... well, took care of himself? In such a fashion that might stop him making an ME2 appearance at all?

They could do an epic scam and make the decisions from ME1 affect whether Shep dies or not, and if you dont play the first one then shep will ALWAYS die, and those who want him alive in the third one have to buy the first one and play it >=D

What about if you let Wrex die or not seems like that would be something to be affected in ME2 like in the suicide mission he would send Krogan troops to the rescue but speculations speculations guess well wait and see

Sorry, but I never see this happening. Ever. In /any/ game. If the companies of this generation of consoles want to sell their game, they would avoid ever doing this. Stand-a-lone games are fine. Even series of games are fine the way they are. Your sarcastic idea would prevent more games being sold of the title, opposed to selling more of the title.

I think I saw something somewhere about the the Tuchanka mission in ME2 going smoother if you didn't kill Wrex.

My question is why I want the game to be made easier?

If for example, like what many of you said, Wrex is still alive in ME2 and certain missions become easier as a result of that. Why would this be any more fun? I can only see this as replacing combat for dialogue and more dialogue.

I for one want a little more than slight changes for having purchased and played through the whole of ME1. Though these changes shouldn't be something along the lines of skipping scenario x and going straight scenario y because character z is your buddy.

The decisions made in ME1 should grant us bonuses and a different experience. I don't think we want to skip out combat scenarios because we know a certain character. It should be something along the lines of battling against race x because we saved race y or battling against race y because we killed someone from race y.

I thought that having the Rachni Queen on your side would be, you know, useful at some point in ME2 or 3.

One would think having an army of giant psychic spiders in your corner would be considered a plus. I doubt it will win you brownie points with the Krogan, though.
