ME3 MP Etiquette: When is the proper time to send an invite?

Back at ya, Alty! At least you guys got a warriors death. I died before I got back from answering the door. =/ I would've preferred to die with rage in my heart llooll.
@kouzrah:
I only have trouble picking a kit when I'm bored with the game. That's when that power button comes in handy. I just played the Drell Vanguard for the uh...fourth time? That was a fun game, I forget all about him.
And I agree with prioritizing those replied first. But there's always a friend or two worth booting someone for. That's when I give up my spot or play something else. Can't stand leaving people out. I hate being left out myself. Do unto, ey.

I don't crash / ninja join games but from seeing how the pros are doing it I figure it's typically done at the end of the 2nd objectives wave (no idea how they know what stage a game is in beforehand though). It also seems to be customary to say "thanks for the money suckers" before leaving right after extraction (probably to crash someone else's game).

. So now I send a msg.
You ninja joined my lobby through Merkabah1 once, it was a platinum run, don't know what happened but halfway through you disappeared, we then had to 3-man it till the end

Ex) Me: Wanna team up?
Them: sure
Me: *sends invite*
I find it kinda annoying when people just spam invites, a lot of the time their lobby is full by the time you get there or they just end up sitting there thinking someone will join when everyone is busy.

I agree. If a good friend is asking for a spot and I'm in a full lobby, I will sometimes leave either to start a new lobby with that person or leave them the spot.
In general, I feel awkward when I leave a lobby to join another one, especially if the first lobby was only me+a single person.

If only more people said that before they left llooll. I'd feel used, but appreciated (oh no, Miranda).Rite All Wrong wrote...
Before inviting someone I like to make sure that no one else in the lobby is already sending invites. I'm also not inviting more than one person for one free spot at a time because I hate sending "sorry we're full now" within a minute of inviting someone.

Ha ha, lesson learned. I hate when that happens. I don't have a huge pool of players, so I'm stuck playing by myself or not all when that happens. Super suxor sauce.rlucht wrote...
IMO the "right" time is after they have responded to a message asking if they want an invite.

I won't invite someone to my game if I see they're in multiplayer mode and not menu.
and ninja joining parties for me is...awkward since I will just lurk silently...but on some occasions I do this with ppl that I know don't mind me just sitting there listening in

This is Origin etiquette as far as it goes for me.
- I never ninja join and have short tolerance for people ninja joining my lobby.
- I send preferably messages, not invites which are a bit cold.
- When I'm in need of a teammate, I try fist people who were chatting with me or asked me to play with them earlier. Also people who just started the game, as they are less likely to be in a team already.
- I try to answer every message I get but sometimes I can't. Thus I don't take it badly that some of the invites I send are left unanswered too.
- Priority goes to people who answer me first and is available the soonest possible. However I don't mind waiting 5 minutes for someone to finish a pug game.
Pretty much agree with this. Just want to add that it's kind of annoying to just get spammed with just invites. Apart from a few exceptions I prefer people asking before they send an invite.

same.
I rarely go into other people's parties, either. But i never mind if someone else comes into mine (although i dont really like it when people's friends come into the party and stay to chat, if theyre not playing in our lobby, i find it v distracting).

Usually, if I'm free to play I'll join the chat or be set as "available".
Strangely, I get more invites when I'm set as unavailable rather than available. Guys, please.

That's because you always have yourself set to unavailable. :innocent:

That is such a lie.
But you'll have better luck getting me in a group if you message me when I log on

I love taking old invitations (read days, weeks later) and joining my friends without a word of warning. Then they think it's an awesome coincidence and the playerbase is almost extint.
And that's why I don't send invites any more.
If one more person drops in on my solo attempts, I'm going to delete all of you.

gurl pls. I've never done it to you. Anyways, a succesful duo is way better than a solo 'attempt'. At least you get some creds and pray the store gives you a Lancerprostheticlimbs wrote...

If I'm in the middle of a game, I usually won't answer messages. Sending me 4 more before the end of the game isn't going to make me answer faster, it's just going to make me start ignoring you.
If I just logged on, and they're on the game, already, I'll send them a message, and then I'll usually quick-match so I can leave suddenly, if we had plans to play, or I'm having a bad PuG, or they're a woman with a cute voice (naturally.)
If I've already been playing the game for a while, I'll just send an invite, instead.
I would prefer people in the game with me concentrate on what they're doing, so I never take it personally if someone doesn't answer an invite or message that I send while they're in the middle of a game.

Not when it's on platinum and not when I'm on wave 8.'
The store got me yesterday. Venom II, Geth Spitfire III, Harrier IX.
No Lancer.

I usually only send invites to the chat. Sometimes when friends are not in the chat I either send a msg "team up?" or spam invites because I'm bored. When I'm in game I tend to not notice invites or msg's, but when I do, I try to reply after I'm finished, unless the person is in the chat so that I can reply quickly.
I stopped spamming chat invs. Usually I really want a specific person in lobby (read: you). And sending out chat invite might cause others to join before you get a chance.
So I send out personal inv first. Give you a head start, and then chat invite.
I will reply to msg in games real quick if I happened to notice the message, and am not in danger of dying.
