Hello my friends,
I got the NWN 2: Platinium, but having a little problem. You see, no matter how much I tweak it, I can't work my way around the camera controls and angles. Is there a way to make the camera more like Dragon Age, Witcher or World of Warcraft?
Cheers.
Is it possible to tweak the camera to "playable" levels?

The camera is a mixed blessing, it can do anything really, but it's got the worst default configuration ever. You can make the camera work like anything, but it's not easy, and not ALL the options are available using the in game interface.
I actually had been working on putting something aimed at this problem into my application Never Launcher.
Basically it allows you to enter into my application the config values into a named config, and then applies those. Screen shots and discussion of this are here. Kevl did a spectacular configuration for the game named "Smooth Cameraq by Kevl". ( hmm need to fix that spelling ) but the original idea was to get multiple authors contributing their favorite configurations, and make it so users can actually just pick a configuration designed to be similar to another game.
I also just added a preference which you have to go check the box on before it will modify the game config files. These features require that you do this before they are available.
This is actually designed soas to let people communicate and easily share a configuration, it basically takes just portions of the config related to the camera and splits it into a master config file, i can use that to build the correct configuration files. ( if you open up the actual file it's just the various ini options related to the camera, i know what file they need to be in by the section name ) But if you hit edit you can go adjust these as desired, and it saves the files in "Configs_Camera" which you can then email, put on the vault, etc without accidentally sharing your password, login, etc.
NOTE: this is a beta, and i am testing lots of things, so be careful and make sure you back things up. Any ini file changed has the original saved with the extension .bak so you can undo what i've done. I am working out various issues and being careful as i can be, but not everything works on every system. I am also working on making these features work on NWN1, but for that game there just is not the fundamental camera problem and i've not gotten into testing that yet.
No idea if this will help you, seems like those few who have tried it have had success with it. But then i also do not have a lot of camera configs available yet either. It might just give you a better way to experiment and keep track of those experiments.

I only ever play in Character mode, & I found just switching off " Camera follows when turning in place"
makes it quite playable without all that spinning around ****.
