 So, just played a few games with this other random player who used the particle rifle on his infiltrator and melted eveyhing  so that was how it was supposed to be.U/u/g meant playing melee paladin on London with a raider. cqc.tastic 

I don't like this gun because: 

1: I haven't got it.

2: It makes an annoying sound and  I find the bright, constant breams of light quite distracting (from the phantom just behind me .. argh! fillet! ) 

3. It seems to be the same tactic for evething on the map... enemy in your face? Bzzzzzzz ...Enemy halfway across the map? Bzzzzz...  Prime? Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.......

Are there anyone out there who would choose this gun above everything else? If so, why?

I wouldn't choose it over anything else (except maybe on the Destroyer if not in a DAKKADAKKADAKKA mood), but it's one of the best choices for medium range and ammo priming with it's seemingly uncapped fire rate when you hold the trigger--it quickly builds up those incendiary stacks. And if you get the cloak damage boost right when the gun ramps up, you get tons of damage. It's fun on the TGI.

Also use drill rounds for the lulz.

3. It's a weapon that's used on weapons platform characters, whose entire point of existing is to use the weapon. What do you expect them to do?

I use the gun on a variety of characters, and it's one of my favorite weapons.

Not annoying at all, just takes a while to get used to it, does a lot of damage. Not my favourite item, but I do use it occasionally.

It's stupidly powerful.

Especially with incendiary ammo cheese.

I put it on my Destroyer when I'm tying to prove a point.
I put it on my TGI because why the f*ck not.
I put it on my Human Sentinel because it's stupid with warp.
I put it on my Krogan Adept because it's stupid with warp.
I basically never use any of these classes. The gun's annoying, especially because it's great at making you feel like you're gimping yourself for *not* using.

Best weapon in the game. Put it on a level 1 Volus, amp it out properly and goto town.

Actually, my tactic for that gun involves mostly running around in circles being amused by the fact that you can fire it while running.

and then wishing I had a gun capable of dealing more damage.

Destroyer with PPR.

The I am feeing lazy and don't really want to move, bar objective waves, Class.

Halfway across some maps is pushing it, you have to be able to target the enemy in order to hit them with the PPR. Much like the CSR.

The gun is unique and very powerful which IMO makes it fun to use. There's zero recoil which makes it easy to hit stuff far away (as long as it's still within range of the gun) and it has unlimited ammo meaning very little to no ammo box trips per match, depending on kit.  Once you manage to unlock it I'll bet your opinion on the PPR changes some.

100% damage boost for the whole clip. The whole clip. With a stupidly strong DC to assist.

It's an extremely good choice for the Juggernaut and the geth trooper. Awesome gun. Sucks for you OP that you don't like it.
