What's wrong with the Human Sentinel? I don't get it.

like i said in the other topic about vanillas:
great powers but a bit on the squishy side.

heavy power user like the adapt, engineer, sentinel, and vanguard are imo good out of the box.
they dont need rare/UR guns to shine. they can fall back on power spam.

infiltrator is good too because of lol OP TC,
but like the solider, especially the solider, really start to shine when you get better guns.

Based on what I've read (remember that thread about how the HSol was as good as the GI? lol) I think BSN would at least rate the HSol and the HA as 9 or 8 out of 10. I'd rate all the human kits as somewhere in the 5-7 range.

Perhaps Human Soldier yes, but I never really seen heaps of threads praising the other vanilla kits. Most BSN think they are good, but there is no illusion that they are god-tier.

Did you not see the outpouring of rage when FateNeverEnds suggested the HI was useless? Or the various insults to my intelligence and playing ability on the last page?

People get really sensitive about their vanilla humans, man.

If you had made a similar thread about almost any other character(s) then there would also have been an outpouring of rage and insults to your intelligence or playing ability. That reaction is not specific to criticism of the vanilla humans.

OT - I mostly agree. The base characters are really good but they're certainly not among the very top tier kits.

But honestly, I think
Human Adept / Humen Engineer can be classified as Top class.

Human Infiltrator is infiltrator so I won`t even try to grade him here..
Human Nova / Human Soldier / Human Sentinel have good potential especially with good amps/weapons. I`d say these guys are average.. with Human Soldier being extremely powerful depends on the player & set up.

Human Adept is one of the best kits in the game - Singularity + Warp.

Human Adept isn't overrated in the slightest and he/she doesn't need cheese to destroy platinum. Singularity and shockwave are too good. Warp combos are nice but it's much easier to prime multiple targets with Singularity and then clean house with a shockwave or two/a warp.

frag grenades aren't crap if you aim them properly. The class is more agile and survivable than the destroyer, but sure, I wouldn't say the class is amazing.

human eng is one of the better engineers for platinum compared to the arc grenade classes. Arc grenades are OP on Gold because mooks and the demolisher can suffer on platinum compared to the Human Eng, QME is top tier though and cannot be touched.

Human Sent is meh.

Human Infiltrator is meh.

Agreed on what your friends said about the Novaguard. Can be boring IMO but it's very destructive on any difficulty assuming you can avoid sync kills.

HI is meh because stickies are too difficult to use for scrubs like me.  I can't stick the darn thing on anything smaller than an Atlas (and that is only if it is not moving).  Proximity Trap is iffy off-host.

I'm suprised at the hostility in this thread ... the OP hasn't traditionally come across as a troll, am I missing something?

I have seen a really dominent HA a couple times, but seeing any of these kits dominate on a regular basis doesn't happen while PUGging Gold, that's for sure ...

Obviously player skill is the ultimate factor, but there are certainly many more powerful kits to choose from

Agreed with the general point that vanilla humans are good kits that aren't exceptional, or comparable to the highly-regarded beast kits like a GI. They're solid. They work well, and can be used to great effect by a skilled player. If you see someone scoring in droves with them, they're probably skilled, whereas other kits and loadouts (e.g. Acolyte Flametrooper) can be a bit deceptive and make an average player look good in pure numbers.

I think what people are objecting to is the qualifying language in the OP. Things like 'most overrated' or not 'as great as you hipsters try to pretend' are going to raise a certain level of ire.

I like them all quite a bit. I've had torrid love affairs with HSol, the HSent, the HI, and even the HE though for not quite as long as the others. I'm quite the **** for vanilla humans, actually. I also had a very long romance with the BF3 soldier.

I know this is a troll thread  but I'll throw this in.

What does it matter if they are top tier or not, they are good enough for good players to generate results that are comparable to the "top tier kits."

A random example would be for the million point challenge and duo point challenge in the past I used a GI for dps but I would still score more with my HFI, it doesn't matter if the stats are different the potential is the same.
