I have coloured spell icons courtesy of Amethyst dragon in NWN1, and out of desperation I have tried to enable them in NWN 2, but I am not having much luck.
Is this possible? ie. to have scroll icons that are much easier to identify in colour.
I have searched the vault and cannot find anything specific to making scrolls easier to see and identify.

I have the same preference, but I haven't gotten around to doing anything about it, and I haven't seen that anyone else has, either. A fairly quick solution, since the colour icons already exist, would be to just make copies of the spell icons, and give them the same names as the spell scroll icons.

I just put all Amethyst dragons icons into override!
You are suggesting something else?
Anything to make it quicker to see and help stack, additional copies.
Also I mean the spell scroll icons that you find or buy.
In black and white it is very time consuming to identify.
I am surprised that Amethysts work in nwn1 has not been adapted or maybe in my case I am just not doing it correctly.

No, I mean the colour spell icons that are designed for the spells in your spellbook. Those can be copied and renamed to match the names of the icons for the scrolls, and put in the override.

Is it too much to ask for more detail Tchos, I do not really know what I have to copy where,
I will probably will never understand why, just knowing how to use mods and haks has been enough to enjoy playing again .

That's all the detail I have at the moment, without looking into it further. I don't know the names of the files or exactly where they are. I just know they're there, and that they could be used to replace the monochrome ones (whose names I also don't know right now). My day's packed today so I can't check just now.

No rush Tchos, I am trying out crafting recipes , decided to to make a cleric6 stormlord 6 so far.
I just successfully crafted a Zalantar +4 spear 1die6 acid. and a duskwood +4 with vs chaotic2/6?

I'm surprised that spears are not made from metal..or a combination with wood..
I have been having trouble with succubi. Need a weapon of cold steel or cold iron. have not figured that out and now for the stormlord I am not sure which weapon to make.
Can you actually craft throwing axes?
I've been trying to add a better book reading mod as well'
bye
and thanks

Yes, I actually wish spears required metal as well as wood, personally. And unlike crafting leather or metal armour, which need leather and metal bars, for crafting cloth armour, you don't need any cloth at all!

I don't think you can craft throwing axes or slings.

So, as for the spell scroll icons, they're located in: Neverwinter Nights 2\\UI\\default\\images\\icons and also in icons_x1 and icons_x2.

There are 327 icons in the first folder, 79 in icons_x1, and 24 in icons_x2. Their names are: it_s_[spell name].tga.

The colour icons for the spells themselves (not on scrolls) are in the same locations, with the names: is_[spell name].tga

So, to make the scroll icon colour, make a copy of, for instance, is_magicmissile.tga, and rename the copy to it_s_magicmissile.tga, and put the copy in your override folder.

It was pretty quick to do what I described, since I have a handy batch file renamer.  Here's a screenshot of one of my characters with scrolls in her inventory, now in colour.  They don't have any little picture of a scroll on the icons, but if you're seeing these in your inventory, you can be confident that they're scrolls.

I'll put the collection online for download shortly.

Than you so much.
I should read a lot more of the tutorials about the scripts of the infinity engine, I never did more than half a year on any programming and I regret that to some extent.
But this is fair dinkum brilliant
Going to save me so much time as well as reduced eyestrain..

Tchos.
I have a bona-fide dvd of Prince of Persia, although its just that no where does it say sands of time.
I never really got into it. I would post it to you if wanted.

There are a number of Price of Persia games, but no need for that. I actually have enough games to keep me busy for a long time. :)

Ditto, me too.
These Icons are great. Just died on top of Mt Galardyn? but I can see my resurrection scroll easy.
Not that it did me any good. So far tried doing it one of each three options. Usually I do not find this so tough but this is the first outing for Construct, and usually have Grobnar for his party buffing.
At least I am not struggling to find spells.

I never actually used the Construct, even though I had him fully upgraded. Khelgar-turned-monk turned out to be a real powerhouse! I did have Grobnar in my party for the majority of the game, for those buffs.
