Something that I would like to see happen in ME4 is people actually identifying your character by their class. In ME1-3 everyone treats Shepard like the soldier class with only a few passing mentions if you were anything else. I would like too see the characters comment one your class more often. Also I would be interested in seeing pathways or options that only certain classes can use. Similarly to how your background offered specific missions in the 1st game, have missions only open to a biotic character or a tech character. Also, in a way like the Paragon/Renegade triggers, have cutscene options that certain classes can use, like if your a biotic you can throw an object you saw or hacking a turret as a tech character. In a nutshell I'm interested in see your character's class become a major part of their identity rather than just a difference in available skills and the occassional mention.

Class was referenced a little bit in Omega and Citadel, I'd like to see more of it too.

It also seemed like the game treated Shepard as a soldier in terms of quest design even if the player picked a class that (story-wise) would've almost certainly approached a scenario in a different way - we barely, if at all, got to see the character doing class-based things outside of combat. The classes seemed like a way to customise combat style rather than necessarily customise the *character*, which was occasionally a missed opportunity.

I agree that it'd be nice to have more options for the player to actually play as an Infiltrator or an Engineer (or a powerful biotic) rather than a generic Alliance marine who happens to have a few unique powers depending on class. We got no sense of how Shepard's different training or upbringing in the Alliance military affected their knowledge or ways of approaching different missions.

hm...

this is a yes and no topic to me:

yes because different approaches would be nice, no because it is - in a way (it's my oppinion) - bad, if certain outcomes can only be produced by a certain class (especially for the players - like me - that always want to achieve the best outcome and even reload saves if they don't manage!)

but yes, showing that the character is a certain class would be nice (note: if you have to have classes at all - i would rather have a TES-Type-Character-Design, were you have access to all Skills/Spells etc. but do not have enough points to take everything - and then then showing of what you chose by having cutscenes (with interrupts) based on what skills you chose (say you have biotics - bang throwing stuff at people, you have incinerate? - set them on fire etc.)) as i sometimes really thought:

why does my - normally biotic - sheppard go head on? - why doesn't he collable those crates on the enemy etc. :)

greetings LAX
