After finishing any ME game, you probably started over (after some time, or not), to try and see the outcome of other decisions, correct? That's what I tried to do.

But I can't help myself to make the exact same choices. Does any of you also experience something similar?
Why is that? seriously?

OCD. A Compulsion to do the same thing over and over again. In this case it's less destructive than compulsive hand washing or counting.

At least that's my excuse.

Same choices, same infiltrator class, same stock Shep. 3 different LI's, though.

I have three Shepards, and two of them switch things up a bit.

The third, my "canon", makes all the same big decisions and most of the same dialogue choices.

I've gone both ways on most major choices in the first two games (Council, Collector Base, Rachni, etc.) in order to see the impact those choices would have. Needless to say I shouldn't have bothered.

I keep the choices largely consistent for each Shepard, and a fixed set for my "canon" version. If I want to vary, I just make a new one with a different look, backstory, etc.

I did that alot. But ever since EC came out, I've started 10 trilogy playthroughs where I do a few things different every time. Such as branching out and experiencing different romances, or going full Renegade, and choosing endings other than Destroy, killing off certain characters....

I know its hard to bring yourself to do certain things....but I encourage giving it try in order to see Mass Effect (and Shepard) in an entirely different light.

Sometimes I let Biotic God live. Sometimes I don't.

"Charge!"

My original instincts are usually the ones that entertain me the most though.

It is funny watching him get to use his greatness on the Asari merc.

I think when Samara says "There are things you've done that my code would compel to kill you for", this is probably one of them.

I thought that's why youtube existed.
But I only really use biotics in multiplayer, I prefer to be a walking armory in single player so I'm always Soldier class, and I don't really role play as anything other than an extension of myself in RPG games so it's pretty much the same choices every time.
Probably the few times I change it up is things like curing the genophage and killing off Balak and other characters like that.

Yes, playing as a paragon, it is easy to get stuck in the easy, feel-good, good-guy ways. My playthroughs are essentially a series of refined versions of previous runs

While I do typically make the same choices each playthrough, I do usually have one character where I make completely opposite choices for just about everything just to see the differences.

I've done that a few times. I only have three Shepards, but I often replay them to tweak them slightly based on how I feel- usually a different romance or one choice in particular. That of course mean redoing the same choices for the stuff that I'm fine with.

Well, it depends. I always make a Clint Eastwood looking Sheploo, I always romance Tali(Garrus for FemShep), I always play a mostly Paragon, I always spare Wrex, I always eradicate the Geth and I usually let Legion die in the Collector Base.

However, with the other choices(Council, Rachni, Virmire, Base) I've gone both ways.

I kind of like all versions of the Council outcome, I guess.. but I prefer being Renegade, but saving the Council. Sort of like the Collector Base.. Renegade, except until the very end.

Do I experience something similar? No.

I have 6 different Shepards and they cover just about all variables between them.

My canon does whatever I'm inclined to. Then I have two optimal Shepards with the opposite moralities, and two sub-optimal ("fail") Shepards, again with opposing morality. That covers just about everything. Sixth is a fairly random character.

I mostly do (although I've also made other choices occasionally for a "just to see what happens" playthrough). I find it difficult to play too much in contradiction to my personality so hate a lot of the Renegade options.

For me I think it has less to do with OCD and more to do with certain choices not falling within my purview of morality.

Though I have OCD, so maybe you're right...

If I personally have a strong moral conviction which choice is right, it's very hard for me to choose something different. I have one strict renegade to see some of the effects of choices I would never pick otherwise, but she's really hard to play.
For the most part, I'm happy with my Shepards having different personalities, even though much of this happens only in my head.
