So wrong on so many levels!
But oh so right at the same time!
*shakes fist* You will not win over me, I swear it!

One thing I have learned due to this game...never, say never.

I'm pretty sure the Swoopers follow the same rule as porn: if you think it, it exists.

Once again rule #34 rears it's squirrely head.

I didn't, but a little gembat did :)  I didn't do the Duncan picture either.  But I do want a motivational poster of it for work, most definitely!

Swooper is what the girls that post to the swoopingisbad community on LJ call themselves.

Back on the OP, could it simply be that DAO is just superiorly written than ME, with far more interesting and fleshed out characters than ME. Sorry Drew, still love ME, just not as much as DAO. *Bows at David, Mary, Sheryl and co.*

I don't think it's better written, just perhaps more open for oppurtunity for fan-input than ME was.

ME was very, very directed, and you played Shepard, and only Shepard. It was his/her story, not yours.

Every DA character is a little bit of you in them, which I guess it panders out so much towards fan-fiction/art/stuff.

I think the fact that the characters are inspiring so much fanfic, points to superior writing. I loved ME but not even Wrex who is widley regarded as the games best character dosen't IMO hold a candle to Morrigan, Sten, Alistair, Zev, dog. They are great characters which are the result of great writing which generally inspires Fanfic.

No, I get the character part. The characters are definitely a step (and three) beyond ME, but storywise ME was probably better fleshed out, but I guess it's SO fleshed out it's hard to put anymore into it, while DA has a lot of empty ground for us to fill in the blanks, allowing more creativity from the fans.

About that story: Whom are you talking to? I might want to read this too. (or are you talking about mine:blink:?)

Well hopefully she won't kill me for posting it here.

Wait... what?  When did this happen!?  *note to self, forum needs a blushing smilie*

I must have missed the beginning of this conversation!  *goes back to look*

And, for the record, I know some of of the presumptions in this fic are wrong.  I didn't learn that until after I was several parts in however... :?

This is extremely true.  There is at least one piece that I follow (you know who you are..so update already) that isn't primarily focused on PC/Zev or PC/alistair romance.  It's written from the viewpoint of another character in the game.

Ah hah, found it.  Um, now I feel like I've gone and misrepresented myself (even though I had nothing to do with it!).  It's certainly an extension of PC/Alistair, don't you think?  Just from a different viewpoint?

Though you're right, I have to update.  Damned work.  Damned husband for being such a softie, and allowing me to pick up the PC version of DA:O earlier this week and thus freeing me from my 360 chains and giving me a serious case of ASSCHABS...

Peeeshaaaaw :)  It's from Wynne's POV so it's diff than the usual romance stuff (and I say this as someone tthat's written some of the romancey stuff).

And yes, it needs to be said...asschaaaaaabs :)

If people are tired of all the pc/Alistair romance maybe they should write their own.

I mean, come on, people. It's just fanfic.

Which is what I meant in my original post.  Our 360 is in our bedroom, which means I can play all comfy-fied in bed.  The PC, however, is out in the living room...

And I know ASSCHABS is a group not a thing, but hey, it works to describe both, yes?  I mean c'mon, it's amusing to proclaim "I have a serious case of ASSCHABS" is it not?
