Meredith would have been fine. The First Enchanter turning into a grotesque monstrosity in a horrific blood magic ritual is pretty damning for the mages.

I wonder about that, though. Yeah, Orsino was or became a blood mage. But, again, he was just one dude. I'd like to think that when cooler heads prevail, that also wouldn't be enough of a reason.

You could probably make a whole court room drama out of the investigation. LOL Complete with sneaky conspiracy that results in Cassandra getting only part of the truth. :bandit:

I suspect she'd have been in more trouble for not knowing about Orsino's little side interests than she would for slaughtering the rest of the Circle.  Her sneaky Templar-lawyer would have to imply that she knew all along and had been waiting for her moment to strike.  B)

Militaries are not okay with a superior officer giving orders that go against the law or the ethics of the organization. Cullen was absolutely in line with doing what he did, and in fact might have gotten in far more trouble with the greater Templar order or Seeker order if he hadn't disobeyed her.

You want the truth? YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH.

Yes, I just quoted Jack Nicholson from A Few Good Men.

Why?

Because that whole movie is about what happens when a soldier obeys orders without question and ends up committing a crime "under orders."

Now, maybe the Templars don't have that caveat. Maybe if Meredith ordered them to kick puppies and nail kittens to the Chantry Job Board they'd have to obey that order without question.  However, I doubt that would fly with the Grand Cleric.  She'd be like "She said what? Nail kittens to the Chantry Board? Yeah, you were right to disobey that order."

You know, from reading all this, there seem to be  a lot of incidents in the game that I never saw. I think that my playing as a Mage gave a different outlook on some things, than if I had played as a pro-Templar. I killed Ser Karas so I had no way to find out more about what happened with him later. Did he have influence over Meridith's decision to call for the ROA after all? In my play through his ideas were rejected.

Naw, Karas has no influence. He will mention in ambient dialogue that Meredith sent off for the ROA though.
