Mass Effect 1 playthrough questions.

So I've been playing through ME1 this summer a bit with a new character so I can be totally complete and paragon and have my chioces for advancing into ME2 and ME3 with this character. I've been playing on the Xbox 360 but more recently I've been playing games on PC and when I went back to my 360 ME1 character, I couldn't stand the aliasing, so I broke down and got the trilogy pack for PC.
Anyways, now I have to start going through ME1 again, which isn't so terrible, I still like ME1.
I want to get to lvl 60, collect all of the minerals and such, and just do everything complete and paragon for my last main character so I can get all bonuses and chioces for the next games.
Since I'm starting anew, my main question is: is it possible for me to get to lvl 60 in just two playthroughs(my very first and the next one)??
I know I get locked at lvl 50 on the very first playthrough, so I'm wondering if it's possible to get to 60 in the second playthough. I have Bring Down The Sky and Pinnicle Station, so there's some extra exp, but I'm not sure..
What do you think? If it's not quite possible, then should I just go though like normal, but get through the second playthrough quickly then do everything in my third playthrough?
Also, is it just exp that continues through saved games in ME1? Or do descisions and such continue on as well?
Thanks for any suggestions or advice!

Decisions do carry over to the other games, although at least one of them is glitched. (Conrad claims you pointed a gun at him whether you did or not. I think they may have tweaked the dialog in ME3 to account for this.) There might have been something else, but I can't recall it right now. The important thing is that ME2 reacts to many of your decisions and ME3 will also, including an easter egg if you got ALL the ME1 collectibles.
Bring Down the Sky is referenced, but I don't think Pinnacle Station is. To be more accurate, I didn't get Pinnacle Station so if there is a call back to it I didn't see it - but I don't recall hearing anything about it being mentioned.
My biggest advice is to plan your activities to maximize your Charm score. I believe you need a Charm of 10 or 11 before you return to the Citadel the first time to unlock all the dialog options with the Admiral. You should save Feros for last and maximize your Charm to unlock a dialog resolution with the Exogeni rep.

Also, I didn't know I could plan what to do much. I just finished Ferros on my first playthrough last night and Ferros was my first main mission after I left the Citadel. I was thinking I could lvl up and boost my Charm for Noveria, but even though I got up several lvls, I wasn't able to up my charm at all. So looks like I need to do a bit of research for my second and hopefully last playthrough..
In light of that, in what order should I do the main missions then? Liara first, then Noveria, then Ferros? Also, when should I do Bring Down the Sky?
I always figured there was a best way to go through the missions for max exp and charm, but I could never figure it out and such.. And yes, I know to kill everything out of the Mako..
Anything else?
Also, my character is Female Shepard, Infiltrator. I have yet to decide on my romancing plan for ME1 and on.. I'll probably let Kaidon die from the nuke.. Hmmm.

You can save Feros for last if you want. It is possible to do Virmire before Feros.
Although Kaiden is a WATB in ME3, he is a more valuable squad mate than Ashley, IMO. He can help set up both tech and biotic combos, Ashley not so much.

Besides, wouldn't you rather play ME2 rather than ME1 twice? For the first ME2 playthrough you can simply blow through the main quest as fast as possible to get to the long service achievement and then dump that character. Voila, you still get the really substantial bonuses. To get to level 60 on ME1 is going to require you to do everything, I mean EVERY THING, twice.

I just discovered ME few weeks ago. Did the first playthrough, reached 50 in Virmire, with almost all collectibles and Pinnacle and BDtS. A lot of kills inside the Mako.
Second playthrough, I got ALL collectibles, but only played BDtS, ALL kills outside the mako (hidehidehide *squeak* hide -Yes, I had a lot of fun with my noobness!!) and brace yourself: lvl 60 in Virmire!!!
No, I didn't used any xp glitch (let's remember that we have the achievement for more xp on our second playthrough). Someone said that Illos/Citadel final- gives you around 50k xp, so I could left some collectibles behind, I guess.
I think that is better that you do all main and side quests, only kill out of the Mako, get some collectibles, go for the DLCs and before Virmire/Illos you check out your lvl and how much xp is left. Only then you decide if you HAVE to go after all those minerals and stuff(some were a pain for me, haha).

Could you give a pointer to this easter egg? I have collected all the disks, insignia, minerals, etc., and didn't notice anything different in ME3.

I actually missed it myself and found out about it through a forum post. I had encountered Conrad Verner but discovered I could have talked to him earlier to trigger the easter egg but I didn't see him.cap and gown wrote...

The guts of it is, do EVERYTHING you can at the Citadel before leaving, then explore/collect as much as you can before returning so you can pump up your Charm. Looking at my spreadsheet I don't think it includes Bring Down the Sky because it had not come out at the time... Essentially, pick up Liara and do as much exploring and side missions that you have unlocked before returning to the Citadel. That unlocks more side missions and you can use them to level up before you do Noveria. Then do everything else you can before Feros to max out your Charm. I remember one playthrough where I came to the dialog and found it was locked - my Charm was one point shy and I had not leveled up enough to unlock the last point.
You may or may not find it worth the effort, but the Charm option allows a fast talk solution that would do Captain Kirk proud!
