Hello, I'm dikajos, new guy here, and I'm gonna share my 2 stories in ME Universe with you. One of them is finished already and that's the one I want to post here. If it's not the right place, just tell me :) .

It takes place mostly on Earth just after games ending (2 or 3 weeks later) and it's filled with the characters we all know (my second story is the one in which I create almost every single character by myself). I've got 7 episodes and an epilogue. The story's got really good opinions on a couple of Polish forums but here... It's going to be something else, because I don't think my English skills are good enough to do it as good as I would want to, but I'm eager to learn and every comment, every opinion would be incredibly important to me. Don't be afraid to correct things if you've got time and you're bored  . I live in England since about 10 months, so i decided that it's a practical way to improve my skills. I'm sure that there's going to be a lot of things you wouldn't like and the main cause here is my language knowledge. I expect that the language level of 2 or 3 episodes is going to be low, but the story's gonna be understandable, I hope... Despite that, I hope (again:unsure: ) that my story will be entertaining and interesting for you and I'm gonna improve, with your help :) .

One more thing. The story is based on Red ending, but... I decided that the Reapers are defeated, yes, but their "pets" (banshees, zombies etc.) didn't vanish, at least not all of them, and they still exist in some areas. Commander Shepard is critically wounded and uncouncious but still alive. And that's the place which I'm going to start from.

The first episode is almost ready and I'm gonna post it soon.

                                                                                        EPISODE I

                                                                              BEFORE THE STORM

                                                                                                I

Private Ramirez entered the cantine. He looked elegant. He was wearing a leather jacket, which he found few days ago in one of the empty apartments in the neigbourhood. He liked it, so he took it. The previous owner probably isn't gonna come back, he's probably dead. "Huge krogan, Chief, I'm sure you will recognize him. Tell him word by word, what I just said." That's what she told him. He did not know her name. She gave him a bottle of vodka with one condition - he's gonna deliver the message, so he did. He looked around the room - it was full. Dozens of people eating dinner in almost complete silence. Ramirez knew why. They won the war, the Reapers were defeated. At least their main forces, which is those great living ships. In the first moments after the explosion at the Citadel, there was an euphoria. Most of civilians went crazy with joy and celebrations lasts until now, but the military could not. For this great victory, each of them paid a price, and the battle still ongoes. Dawson lost his father, Richardsson lost his wife and daughter, and Pugsleys family has been converted into zombies... Several other of the branch were killed in recent days during Operation Hammer. Ramirez was lucky, because the only trace of the war, which he wore, were  gray hair, despite his age - he was twenty. He survived, and his family was safe at the ranch in Texas. Isolated ranch which, as it turned out, had saved them from death. Reapers focused on large gatherings of people from the beginning . They caught them, killed, put to use. He did not know why. He was glad that his relatives were not hurt.

Ramirez didn't look for long, because krogans stood out. Their table was the only loud one. Ha, they had a good reason - thought Ramirez. Genophage is cured, they can have fun. Although, he wonder, how would they return home, when he heard, that relays were destroyed or damaged. He didn't know, and was not interested in it right now. He wanted to deliver the message, and drink vodka. He recognized Chief immediately. He sat quiet, barely speaking. He wasn't wearing armor, and that allowed Ramirez to see the scars. A lot of large scars. They say krogan regenerate quickly, so how the fresh wounds must have looked like... A shudder shooked the Private.
He walked over, and began timidly, feeling respect in the presence of the great warrior:

- Are you the leader of krogan, Urdnot Rex?
- Wrex, man. This is the best Krogan leader since centuries. You could at least learn how to pronounce the name of the saviour of your rock! - Shouted one of the most drunk soldiers from the company Aralakh, which suffered almost one hundred percent loss during the war.
The chief remained silent, didn't even look at the messanger. Ramirez tried again:
- I have a message for you... Will you listen, chief? - His voice trembled.
- Do not be afraid, soldier - the Chief said. - My gun is dirty. Wouldn't try to shoot right now, and my hands are busy at the table. Message, you say? Hurry up, because, as you can see, Krogans celebrate your planets safety. What's the message and from whom?
- From whom, I do not know. Some black woman stands on the ruins of Big Ben, and told me to repeat it to you, "Rex, meet me at Big Ben. I have some very important news. It's about the commander. Need to talk, face to face."
- Heh... All rely on the commander - Krogan said. He looked tired- It's boring. Shepard is in the hospital, and the best human and salarian doctors are taking care of him. I see no point in talking to some anonymous woman.
- She expected you to say so - Ramirez replied. - She told me to add, that she's familiar with some guy, Jacob, which you're supposed to know ...

Wrex became serious, he looked at his company and silently stood up, and walked out of the cantine. They stayed silent, and knew that they should not ask any questions. Ramirez figured it out by himself. He came out of the cantine and smiled, as after a deadly mission, moving towards the Thames. He pulled a little bottle from his leather jacket, and drank a bit.

                                                                                             II

- I'm doctor Brynn Cole. We need to talk - black woman said, turning around and walking fluently toward the house. Wrex would have sworn it was a nice building. Before the war... They entered through a hole in the wall. Brynn sat on the hard dusty couch. Krogan looked around the room. He felt a slight breeze, floating torn pieces of old newspapers. Ragged curtains wavered slightly, revealing a body of zombie, riddled like a sieve by some wapon. Some printing equipment stood around, it hadn't been used since a long time, but the smell was still here. Wrex crossed his arms, and glared at the doctor's eyes. He waited.
- We don't know each other, but I know Jacob well. We are together. I owe my life to the commander, and many of my friends too. From the look of your face, I recognize, that you're aware of Shepards condition?
Krogan remained silent.
- Listen... At the moment, doctors  are doing everything they can to save him, but... - Brynn paused - they're gonna fail...
- What do you mean? Speak, quick.
- I think you already know, that I worked for Cerberus. I was in contact with Miranda Lawson, which, as I conclude from Jacobs story, you've met at a party in commanders place at the Citadel.
- You're wrong - he denied - I met her before, when she came on Tuchanka with Shepard and Grunt, to help this little pyjack with the Rite of Passage.
- Doesn't matter. My point is, that Jacob told me this and that. Once, he and Lawson were close, and he was the head of security at the complex, which rescued the commander. I learned from him a bit about the Lazarus Project, which was led by Miranda. I know how Shepard has been improved. I also know that the actions of doctors, even the greatest, will not and well.
- Tell me briefly, what you mean - Wrex said impatiently.
- We need to find Lawson ... She fixed commander and she's the only one who's got the knowledge you need to save him. The changes, things that have been used in order to save him after the disaster of the first Normandy, were too serious.  Few slices or a blood transfusion wouldn't help... He's no longer an ordinary man so he needs special treatment and only Miranda could provide that.

Wrex stopped his eyes on the hole, which the've used to get into the room. Lawson? After all, she's somewhere in the area, at least she was, a few days ago, before the offensive.
- I guess you know, where to look. Otherwise, you probably wouldn't bother me, huh?
- I saw her the day before yesterday ... She is suppose to act behind enemy lines, find some kind of factory ships, and liberating the prisoners. For this purpose, she has been moved to France, to the vicinity of Marseilles. Shortly after the outbreak of the Citadel, our command has lost connectivity with multiple locations. Lawson group is in one of them.

Wrex thought about what Brynn told him. Factory ships ... Macabre thing. A few days before a team of scouts came to his quarters and reported the location of one of them. Engines've failed  and it was grounded. One of the Krogan teams, with Wrex in the lead, was on the spot after a few hours. They came too late. When they have opened the place, a dozens of Reapers creatures ran straight into them. The fight did not last long. All in all, it was hard to call it a struggle. Experienced, veteran team of Krogan had no problems with killing the zombies. This ship processed only humans, and zombies are the weakest type of enemy, with whom they had to fight.
- Hmmm, I would say, that Lawson is probably already dead, but ... Shepard said that she's a hard chick. Okay, I'll give orders. We go tomorrow, at dawn. Get ready.
Brynn stared at the ground, not saying a word. Wrex realized in the blink of an eye. During the party few weeks earlier, Jacob said, that his baby is on the way, and yet he was with Brynn. Krogan realized his indiscretion. The doctor wanted to open her mouth and say something, but Wrex started first.
- I'm sorry. Take care of yourself and... - He looked at her belly - of little Shepard.
He knew - Brynn thought, smiling slightly. She planned to give that name to her child.
Of course, if it will be a boy.

                                                                                                  III

The next day at dawn, Wrex dressed up in his red armor. He stepped in front of headquarters, sat down on a piece of destroyed wall and began to clean the gun. He already did that yesterday, after talking to the doctor, but did not perform this operation to remove dust. It shines like Liara's teeth - he thought. He wanted to occupy his head with something. Brynn is pregnant, and will have a baby. He's gonna have one as well. Bakara, the first krogan who became pregnant after recovering geno****e, was carrying his child. Krogan has got the future before them again.
Sterilization of the entire race. What a terrible genocide. During the Krogan Rebellion, soon to be defeated salarians and turians has developed and spread the genophage, which caused 99 out of 100 pregnancies ended in miscarriage. It took many hundreds of years, depriving the race meaning of existence. A few months ago, the curse was over.

Tuchanka. Wrex, Bakara, Garrus. Mordin. Shepard ... And Kalros, the mother of all thresher maws, in dance with the great Reaper. Oh, what a ride - thought Wrex, moving a damp cloth on the surface of his shotgun. Within a hundred yards, a dozen Krogans were preparing. They stood up straight at dawn, disciplined and getting ready to go. Wrex organized the transfer of two platoons of troops to Marseilles. He used Shepard's fighting technique for his actions. Small teams, quick, decisive blow. Fast action and withdrawal. This tactic has proven itself many times during the war with the Reapers, and even more often during his cooperation with the commander. Kodiaks were waiting, and the soldiers loaded the equipment suitable for the mission.
He began to talk to himself:
- Ah, Wrex ... You could use some of the old crew ... Garrus to ram enemies from a distance, Tali to use sabotage on their weapons or distracting them with a probe. A strong biotic would be usefull as well. Or Grunt, but I've sent him elsewhere. I wonder how he's doing...

He stood up. The soldiers completed the bustle and waited for the final order. They're supposed to be thrown on the ground, that has been out of contact for a few days. According to scouts reports, southern France was occupied by the enemy. Reapers as such were already eliminated, but their servants were still alive and resisted. Zombie, cannbals, banshees, brutes ... Those last ones were Krogans, mutated and mixed with other species. Shuttle's been loaded with only two incomplete platoons, about two dozen of Krogans. Not many, because the army did not manage to regroup, but Wrex knew, that it should be enough for that kind of mission, and if there is a slightest chance to help Shepard, then he need to take it. Find Lawson, answers, and pay off the debt of his race to the commander. To be able to talk to him and thank again? It's priceless. They were friends, after all.
Wrex boarded the shuttle as the last one, making sure that everything is as it should be. As he walked toward the Kodiak, he heard a sensual female voice behind him. Calm, but firm.

- Hold on, Chief.
He turned and saw an elegant Asari in light, red armor with a deep neckline.
- Don't you need some assistance?
- Samara! Ha! What are you doing here, you though blue girl! - He shouted, totally surprised by her presence, reaching out and grabbing a slender hand of Samara, before she had time to undo it. Executor was not used to such greetings. She stayed cool, but didn't push Wrex away. She smiled gently.
- I'm here accidentally. I meditated on the banks of the River Thames since the time of the battle. The sound of the water calms me down. But some drunken man were constantly shouting. It was hard to ignore them, so I decided to ask for silence. Two soldiers were sitting with a young Latino in shiny jacket. They drank vodka and screamed a lot. Especially the Latino. He talked about some news, Krogan Chief and commander. I listened for few secons until I understood he talked about you. At first, he did not want to say anything, but I pressed him with biotic. His colleagues fled, with vodka, of course. Latino sang everything I asked him for. And here I am. I want to help you. I want to help Shepard. What would you say?

Wrex kept silence for a moment, then pulled out his shotgun from behind his back and gave it to Samara, saying:
- Twenty-two krogan and an Asari Executor. If the Earth has got some equivalent of Kalros, it could be fun.
- I think there is no such vermin here, Wrex.
- Well, anyway, it's not going to be boring. - He smiled broadly.
- Tell me where we're going and for what purpose.
- Put your blue ass on Kodiak and listen ...

It was morning. The sun gently floated above the horizon. The sky was bright red. The storm was coming. Wrex didn't know, whether it was a symbol of the past, or the announcement of the future.

------------------------------------------------------------
Well, that's the first episode. Is it readable and understandable for you? Opinions? :)

                                                                                         EPISODE II

                                                                                          HOLIDAY

                                                                                                  I

A month has passed. Frigate was ready. Paul Orlovsky and Damien Risto welded around the last pieces of the Silaris armor.
- Asaris technology. Modern, damn thing - Risto said.
- What did you expect? After all, that's one of the most advanced machines in the galaxy. Builded by our best technicians in collaboration with the Turians - Orlovsky said, looking at his work proudly, despite it had marred frigate a bit.

Risto and Orlovsky lived on the planet Zayo since birth. They were specialized in small repairs of the arriving ferries, freighters sometimes, but never had to deal with such miracle. Kinetic barriers, GARDIAN lasers, already named Silaris armor... And the most important:
- With that gun, you could put down our moon. - Risto laughed.
- You know that it's been firing to more serious enemies than our little Cleo.
Cleo was the smallest of four moons above Zayo.
- In fact, I do not know. I have not spoken with the crew. Every day, they all get tired. I've read a bit about their exploits on the Extranet before it stopped working, but I have not talked to them personally. Anyway, I think that the media are always all exaggerated and what is written on Enet is fake. At least most of it. Besides, I have the impression that they already have enough in their heads, and not going to stay here for long. They look like they have some kind of a mission.
- Mission? What are you talking about? - Orlovsky was surprised. - The war is finished. Reapers are defeated. And even my mother in law would beat the stragglers, armed with the shaft.
- Paul - Risto said with mournful voice - you know...
- Ah... I'm sorry, my friend.

Risto has lost his brother during the war. He served in one of the fleets of the Alliance. Family was informed only that he had died, fighting valiantly and sacrificed his life so the other fleets may withdraw. But why it was him to save the others, and not the opposite? Risto still asked that question to himself.
A man entered the hangar. Short brown haired, middle-aged. He held a datapad in his right hand. He surveyed frigate and nodded appreciatively.
- Good work, gentlemen - he said. - We're gonna repay you that, somehow.
- I think that right now we are repaying you, Mr. Adams - Orlovskiy replied, wanting to make a compliment to him.
Adams, however, did not change his expression. He was tired. For a moment, he quickly moved his fingers around datapads keayboard. He left the hangar just few second later.

Shortly thereafter, engineers had another visitor, the young woman. Dorothy, Paul's sister, was claimed by unexpected guests from the very beginning. She tried to be as close to them as it was possible, accompany, guide and generally be the soul of the party. She absorbed the few stories that she was able to hear from the members of the crew with great passion. The stories, which looked like the fairy tales about dragons and other miracles in her eyes.
- Hey, guys. You're finishing, is that true? - She asked silently.
- Yes. No more than two days, and this frigate will beat its old records - Orlovsky said defiantly.
Dorothys reaction shoved them, that this is not good news for her. Zayo is a pretty boring planet , not much happens there. Arrival of this ship and the crew like that is a real something. If not for the war, the colony would certainly calebrate it with dignity. However, residents tried as best they could.
- Any neww about our starlets? - Orlovsky asked with a smile.
Dorothy began talking.

                                                                                         III

In the morning, Dorothy and Elizabeth went to gather some fruits from the orchard on an edge of the cliff. The day was sunny, cloudless. When they walked a few meters away from the precipice, Dorothy has spotted a man. Just from the look, they could say, that he wasn't shaving for weeks. He was wearing a baseball cap and sat leaning against a tree. He looked down.

They've recognized him as the pilot of the frigate. Have read about his exploits on the Extranet, heard he was the best. They decided to take the opportunity and talk to the guy. Until now, they had longer chatting only with James Vega, the Turian and a brunette with a British accent.
- Good morning, Mr. Moreau - a harmonious chorus said.
- Good morning - he answered, looking at them for a moment. Quite dispassionately.
The girls heard, from the Turian crew member, that Moreau is a good wag with a sense of humor, but when they looked in the shadow casted by a tree, they saw only neglected, bleak man. The've asked about a mood, and other things like that. Moreau tried to dispose of them with short answers. Soon after, girls passed the Asari, another member of the crew of the frigate. She was incredibly beautiful. Girls gasped with admiration. She was going to the cliff, they decided not to interfere.

                                                                                                .

Asari was happy with that. She sat next to the pilot, didn't say a word. They did not speak for a few minutes, just sitting and listening to the sound of the wind. They haven't had such an opportunity in recent years. The one, who broke the silence, was the pilot.
- You do not have to sit here with me, Liara...
- Jeff, a month here already, we're gonna leave soon. Our minds must be pure. It's time to focus. No more being alone at the edge of the cliff. We're worried about you. EDI...
- Do not talk to me about EDI! - Joker interrupted sharply, pulling out a bottle of whiskey from behind his back.
Liara wasn't surprised. Since the death of EDI, Joker has been devastated. Often drinking, looking for solitude.
Death. Joker saw it like that. Some crew members were still considering her as a synthetic, a machine that simply ceased to exist, but he... He loved her. Just as a man can love a woman. Adams, technician, happened to say, that EDI is no longer working on the ship and they have to divide her functions among themselves. Joker were so upset about the word "work", that he still would not talk to Adams.
- Joker... I beg you. Come with me. We need to discuss our plans. We need you.
- For what? The war is over. With a great victory. - Asari felt bitterness in his voice.
- Joker...
- What?
- Shepard needs you ...

Joker paused. He thought of commander, a man whom he could not identify. Who was that guy for him? A superior, a friend, a mentor, a colleague. He used Joker piloting abilities to the limit. After a while, however, the pilot remembered a crazy escape from the beam, and said:
- Liara... The explosion blew the Normandy away, straight to the middle of nowhere, there's even no Alliance post here. Do you believe that the commander, who was at the center of the explosion, had any chance of survival?
- Explosion damaged Normandy, but we all survived - Liara said, and regretted it very much at once. After all, EDI died.
- You see, you're just like Adams. EDI was only a machine, constructed to carry out the orders...
- No, Joker, I didn't mean that. Really. Get a grip. Enough self-pity. Traynor says, that she's got some important information. You have to be with us. I am sure, that neither Shepard nor EDI would want you to be like this.
Joker closed his eyes for a moment and sighed loudly.
- Help me with getting up.

                                                                                           III

Traynor, a young girl with a British accent, she served briefly on the Normandy crew, but one who would look at her now, wouldn't risk that statement. She convened a meeting, managed information, and any news from outside the planet was a treasuer at this time. In a large classroom, shared by the Zayo's people, the meeting of the crew of SSV Normandy - the most magnificent Alliance machine - was about to begin. Locals peer through the windows. They surrounded the building and took pictures, chatting. Children were screaming with joy. Adults behave just the same.
- Who is there? - a little red-haired girl with pigtails and freckles shouted enthusiastically.
- There is a Turian, and Ashley, Vega ... Oh, I see. Yet perhaps not all, but they're gonna start soon. I hope they wouldn't cover windows, as they did last time- said the old man, leaning his weight on a metal stick. In his eyes you could see the same curiosity, like in Freckles eyes.
- I suppose they're about to go... - Dorothy added. - Ah... This company is really something...

                                                                                                .

A tall and thin Turian in blue armor was already inside the room. Turians always seemed to be discusting for the locals but - according to the natives - that one was incredibly ugly. On the right side of his face he had a big scar, or a couple of scars. It was obvious that he's been through a lot. There was a quarian standing next to him. She was a local sensation. There hadn't been even a single representative of her race on the planets surface before. Quarians rarely leave their fleet, and if the information, that they've recovered their planet - Rannoch - are true, their suppose to be really busy right now. They often asked her about taking of her helmet, always walking away with nothing. At a profisional, large table made up of six small school desks sat Ashley - Alliance marine, which they knew about her at the beginning. It was enough to figure out the rest. Extranet did not work, but the local library had several datapads, which included information that Ashley Williams took part in the defeat of the rebel Spectre Saren and participated in the defense of Eden Prime in the battle with the geth. The files in the following years, however, were kept secret, far beyond the Extranet. Apparently, during the war, she's been appointed Spectre. In the corner of the room, leaning against the wall, there was someone else. They rarely seen him around, but even if they would see him often, they wouln't identify him. Never heard of so-looking race. He had two pairs of yellow eyes and a very strange shaped head. He was a mystery to them. He talked to James Vega, who was the most friendly member of the crew. Most of the stories about the activities of the frigate was coming from him. Usually, it has been done in the evening, in the most popular pub in the area. The stories were fascinating and there was simply no place in pub for people, who wanted to hear it, and people who occupied last places were telling stories to those who did not manage to get inside and stood in front of the bar, waiting for a vacant table. For example, the story of the mission on Rannoch, where James personally defeated Reaper, even two according to some. The number increased with the distance the story was spread. Or how he saved the Citadel Council from certain death after the betrayal of councilor Udina. Chases, shootouts, betrayal and much, much more. The locals were delighted. They knew these events from media coverage, but it was clear that Vega actually participated in them. His stories were emotional and full of details, and although not everyone believed in every word, the young girls from the neighborhood looked at telling with buttered eyes.

                                                                                                    .

Just before the start of the meeting, Liara entered the room with Joker. Garrus and Tali sighed. All of them were worried about the pilot and his behaviour. Lt. Moreau was the best skipper in the Alliance. He had pull them out of the troubles such huge, that even Blasto would surrender, and bring up the white flag. And who has seen the films with Blasto knows, that hanar Spectre didn't retreat without a good reason.

Liara remembered the hot and full of lava Therum especially. That's the place where she'd met the entire crew. They saved her from the Sarens geth. Shepard pulled her out of the collapsing mine, and Joker was in the right place at the right time. He's always been, but now... How could he?

Tali could not forget about the mission for the Omega 4 Relay. They lost  Kasumi Goto there - an incredibly talented thief. It is interesting that hardly anyone has heard of this mission. Cerberus, which organized and financed this operation, wasn't talkative about it, and the Alliance took note of this, but as the crew worked apart from its original headquarters, not only that they could't get a medal, they could be punished instead. It didn't happen because of the outbreak of the war and their knowledge about the Reapers. But Tali still remembered what happened then. There was no space, no time. Only a deadly speed and crazy maneuvers. Collectors probes fired at Normandy, but Joker did miracles. He sat frigate almost unscathed and became the first pilot in history, who brought his machine back through the Omega 4 Relay.

But now all of them have concentrated thoughts and looked at specialist Traynor, who stood before them with datapad in her hand and began to give the latest news, taking with a very focused voice.

- Certainly, we all know that Normandy is now on standby. Adams checked the status today and we will be able to move on in about two days . We'll do the most important stress test systems at eight o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Therefore, we have to be at our posts. All of us.
- Well, finally. How much time could we waste, flirting with local girls - Ashley said, turning her eyes towards James.
- What? They didn't complain - Vega replied with a sly smile.
A few people laughed. The loudest one was mechanic Donnelly.
- And now, a message. It's really important and really good. The relay, which we flew out from, is almost fixed.
- Say what?! What a miracle! - Garrus shouted with delight. Then he frowned, and touched the scar on his cheek with right hand.
- Well, we should ask the Shadow Broker about that - Traynor said, turning her head toward Liara.
- It so happened, that the Shadow Broker has a place in the vicinity, which, just before the battle for Earth, got some very specific instructions - Asari started - which concerned the storage of raw materials, required for the operation with the relays.
- How did you know what you need? - Tali said with appreciation.
- As the Shadow Broker I have a really extensive database. Then there were prothean beacons, which we have found in recent years. I think the relay should be quite efficient soon. It was badly damaged, so do not expect that it's gonna shine, but it should do it's job.
- But how did you know we're gonna end next to this specific relay? - Joker asked. He was intrigued.
- I did not know - she said honestly. - I've sent teams to all the relays associated with the Charon relay. Broker funds were really substantial. Despite that, we had to make cuts here and there, remove a few cells, but in the and it worked.
- Sly beast - said Ken Donnelly with his Scottish accent.
- Does this mean that in a few days we're gonna be back on Earth? - James asked, sitting  happily. He began to feel really good at Zayo. He was a living legend. While others have tried not be to talkative, he tried to be one of the most noticeable. Partying, flirting, breaking women's hearts, but when he heard, that there is a chance to return to Earth, something inside of him twitched.
- Not really - Asari replied. - We need to be within range of the relay. Then I will conduct the necessary measurements and we will know more. Unfortunately, neither I nor Traynor do not have any news from Earth ... And you know, that in order to safely fly to  the solar system, we must have both relays working. The Charon is a responsibility of my friend, Feron. We have no news from him, but I believe that he has succeeded, just like my agents here. Jumping blindly into the relay is not the best idea, but, as i said, I have no contact with him. We take great risk...
- We can not risk the loss of Normandy and the whole crew - Garrus said. - One of us should jump through the relay with Kodiak and... come back if it's possible. Then we'll be sure. Consider me as a volunteer.
- Gotta be kidding me, Vakarian. You, Turians, you are good at ground fighting, I admit, but you know so much about flying as cat wept - James countered.
- What cat? - Garrus wondered.
- It's an Earth saying - Traynor broke the dispute.

There was a moment of silence. Everyone understood that it's a huge mission. Garrus had only theoretical knowledge of flying. They realized that he's not fit for the job. Vega was able to control Kodiak, but he's not at Cortez level, and Steve Cortez stayed on Earth ... One of them was a pilot. The best. And he broke the silence.
- I'll go.
- Joker. If something happens to you, Normandy's gonna loose a helmsmen - Tali said.
- I feel that if I won't go, it ends just the same.

Everyone lowered their heads. Since the crash on Zayo Joker has changed, and it wasn't good changes. In their minds, the crew felt that this mission is what he needs, and it will allow Moreau to get back on track, but it was extremely risky. The pilot sensed their concerns, and added seriously:
- I managed to get out of worse ****. You know that.
They knew.

Only Javik, silent in a dark corner, thought, "in my Cycle, we didn't send sick alkoholics on that kind os mission. These young races still amaze me."

                                                                                            .

They did not have even a single reporting from the Earth. Radio communication was not enough for such long distance, and explosions of the relays interfered any other forms of communication. In some places a lot of things were fixed already, but not here. The planet on which they crushed was so insignificant, that the enemy did not send the Reapers forces beside scouts, and even that only at the very beginning of the war.
- What's going on? - a small, red-haired girl asked.
- They're coming out! Be quiet. The're gonna speak- Dorothy soothed all , unable to hold back her own voice from breaking up.

Garrus came first. Going down the stairs, he spoke to a large group of onlookers:
- Thank you for your hospitality.
Looks of the gathered crowd went after the company. The last of the group which headed to the docks - James Vega - added silently:
- Well, that's all about holiday.

Locals saw change on the crews faces. They raised their heads, looked straight ahead and walked boldly forward. Focused. A goal has reappeared at the end of the road. The crowd wondered what caused this change.
It was hope.

Sooo, I repeat - english is not my first language and I'm sure, that my stories ara veeeery far from being perfect if we talk about language correctness. Still, I hope that it's readable, and if you see that story kind of interesting, please let me know. And I would be grateful if you'd show me my most irritating mistakes

                                                                                          EPISODE III

                                                                                            FRANCE

                                                                                                   I

Flight through the France was uneventful. Wrex told Samara everything he learned from Dr. Cole. Despite both has worked with Commander Shepard, they've never had the opportunity to work together. Samara helped the commander during mission in the base of Collectors  - beings working for the Reapers - who were abducting entire human colonies in purpose to create a powerful weapon - the human Reaper. Shepard's team stopped those plans. Krogan, at that time, was busy with political affairs on his home planet - Tuchanka - where he was able to seize power in Urdnot clan and make it a major force in both - political and military.

Many did not understand their chief's ideas. He tried to unite the clans in a diplomatic manner, with the less bloodshed possible. His brother - Wreav - had a completely different approach to the case, and everything could've become very complicated, but Wreav died on Tuchanka during the battles to spread the cure for the genophage. Wrex, unlike his brother, did not want revenge. He understood that it was time for his race to show that they can be more than a mindless tool in the hands of others. At the moment howewer, his mind was occupied with the current mission. He was satisfied about having a powerful biotic in his team. He watched Samara, who calmly observed the small screen on the side of Kodiak, which flashed the news broadcasted by the Alliance command in London. The radius of the messages was getting better, but still the majority of the Earth's surface suffered from radio silence. The old methods of communication returned to grace -there were no other option. Satellites have been destroyed during the first hours of the invasion of Earth, which took place a few months ago.

Despite problems, more and more massages were getting through. Those, who expected the imminent end of the war, were dissapointed. Lots of  Reapers teams still continued their tasks. Intel reported, that the ones commanding the enemy are genetically modified turians. The Alliance Headquarters discovered, that - for example - the Reapers operating in the British Isles do not cooperate with those, who are in France. They were very strong, but separate cells. They did not have anything like a chain of command, or one, common strategy. It seemed like eliminating them is only a matter of time. There was no doubt, however, that many more soldiers will have to die, to achieve a complete victory.

Throughout the journey the platoons communication officer tried to establish radio contact with Allience troops in Marseille and vicinity - without any response. Wrex ordered to look for a place to land at some safe distance from the city itself. The choice fell on a small village east of Martigues, a few kilometers west of the purpose of the expedition. They had to be ready for anything.

The pilot has found a large flat place at the edge of the Mediterranean Sea. When the team was a few feet above the ground, Wrex repeated orders:
- Second group secures a camp at the highest point in the area. You need to mask it solidly! We must be cautious. I know it's risky, but we are krogans! If we're gonna lose radio contact, we will be trying to get to the highest hill on the way back. You'd better be there... Alive. First group goes with me. Even last night, I thought that some of us will die here, but now we have the support of damn good biotic, so all of us could see Tuchanka again. Fight for it! We take only wapons and clips. Save your ammo, because you all know, that we have no chance to resupply here. Besides, we need to be as fast, as we can. We take Lawson and we're back. Easy, fast and fun.

The clock on the monitor inside the Kodiak pointed a few minutes after noon. The sun was at the highest point of its daily journey. Vehicle came into contact with the ground and turned off the engine. The second platoon has split into two teams. First of them dealt with Kodiak's camouflage, the second took the most of equipment and headed in an easterly direction, to the hill, which seemed to be the biggest.

First platoon, along with its commander and Samara, turned on the old-fashioned radio, and called for Lawson.
- This is krogan allied troops. If someone is on that frequency, talk!.
Asari held a datapad in her hand, which was given to her by Wrex. She had to keep an eye on it. " If it gets hot, we will go ahead. Keep it safe. Dr. Cole says that the information on it could save Shepard. You need to show it to Lawson, and she will figure out, what is going on ."
After a few minutes of trying, communications officer heard the words:
- Hey! It's Jason Prangley here, Miranda Lawsons group. I hear you! Ha! Amazing. This **** works! You are here to help us? Then i must say, you've arrived just in time!
Wrex heard the answer, he took few steps towards the radio:
- Prangley, it's Urdnot Wrex, commander of the krogan. Give me your position and tell me, is Lawson with you?
- Uh, yes she is. I mean, she is not, but should be, soon . She went to the last ship in the area to look for some intel, because we haven't found anyone alive in these terrible places... We are in an abandoned church in the suburbs. Should I fire a flare? You will locate us faster.

Wrex was about to respond positively, but Samara put her hand on his shoulder, whispering:
- It will reveal their location to our enemies.
Krogan frowned. I do not have time - he thought in frustration .
- You know about any Reapers in the area? They know your location?
- They are in a lot of places in the city - Prangley said - loads of them. It was fifteen of us here. We lost seven... But they doesn't know exactly where we are.

Wrex was thinking. He looked at Samara. Her facial expression hasn't changed. Still calm and composed. He was the leader, so she waited for his decision. When the Executor starts a mission with someone, she promises to herself, to perform any of its orders. It's an oath to herself . It doesn't matter, what she thinks about the specific order. For this reason, Samara didn't intend to undermine any of Wrex's decision.
- Firethe flare, Prangley. We are about an hour away from the city. We will try to reach you as soon, as possible. Hold on to that time.
- All right.
After a moment, they saw a bright, red flare in the air few kilometers from them. Damn, more than I thought - thought Wrex.
Samara sensed his disappointment. She leaned over the radio, saying calmly:
- We are on the way. You could not demand better aid.

                                                                                                II

The hallway was narrow and dark. Some kind of liquids were flowing on both sides of it, close to the walls. It was not the water, certainly. Under the ceiling, a little bulb swung on the cable, flickering with pale light. Two cannibals were standing beaneath it. Suddenly, the light flashed, thunder. Bulb bursted.

Singularity detonated by warp. Always works -  thought brunette in tight costum, walking past the corpses of her victims.

Woman walked to the end of the hallway. Found a console there, which - as she thought - opens processing ship. Last one in the area. There were seven. Her team has found human remains in one of them. Several people from the group did not stand these horrors - they've been vomiting, wanted to get the hell out, but she had seen it already. She had seen worse. In the last two ships, they found something more. Cannibals, zombies. It wasn't expected. She lost a few people and sent the wounded to the church under command of Prangley, where they founded a base. There, they had to wait for her return from the last ship. She felt guilty and did not want to lose anyone else, so she went alone. It's been well so far.

The console worked exactly as the previous one. Woman has entered a command seized from the enemy at the first of their goals. It worked, and the door were opening slowly. She used this time to grab the gun and prepare another biotic warp. She waited a moment. The door was open for a few seconds now, but nothing came out from the inside. Probably the same, dead bodies - she thought and relaxed.

She took a few steps forward, entering the interior. Processing ships were not large, they were functional. Usually consisted of several cells in which "raw material" - peaople - has been stored. One average ship was constructed to hold more than one hundred people. This one was smaller, had just three cells.
She walked beside the first, covering her mouth and nose with left hand. The stench was unbearable. These people were after " processing ", but before putting the implants in - it hasn't happen because the Reapers lost the war, so those people just died. They lay in a pile of bodies and ragged clothes. The second room was empty. Empty cells usually meant, that those prisoners were considered as individuals with " favorable " DNA. In recent days, it turned out, that such people were transported to the Earth's orbit, to the Citadel. The reason was unknown, but she suspected why.

Miranda Lawson, a former Cerberus officer, has been sent for this mission for two reasons. She was aware of them. First reason was, that the mission was secret, and many high ranked Alliance officers still thought that she, as an important member of a criminal organization - Cerberus - should not be identified with the official activities of the Alliance. Nobody expected miracle.Humans have never found anyone alive in processing ships on Earth. Turians were more lucky, as the rumours say, they've rescued a few on Palaven. Reason two: no one was more suitable for this mission than her. Her work with Commander Shepard was a well known fact for the generals. Despite their reluctance, it was difficult to hide their great respect for her skills and accomplishments.

Suddenly, she felt a tremor on the hip. She heard the sound of an old-fashioned rugged radio that hanged from her belt. So far, she's been irritated only because of it's weight, now she was afraid, that the enemy, if it is nearby, will detect her .
- Miranda Lawson. Speak up! Lawson!

The voice sounded familiar. Miranda was about to reply, when suddenly, a few meters from her, young girl leaned over from the third cell. Her eyes were frightened. She was terribly thin and dirty. She reached out, losing balance, but Miranda jumped quickly and catched her, showing great reflexes. Then, with corner of her eye, she saw the inside of the third room, in which there were five people. Living people! A man and elderly woman were holding hands, leaning against the wall. Two young men stared in amazement toward Miranda. It was obvious that they did not expect rescue. In the corner of the room, on the floor, was another woman. She did not move. Lawson walked there, kneeled, put her fingers on woman neck. No pulse... Four living people, five, including young girl  - she corrected herself.

- How long have you been here? - Miranda asked.
The girl, who came to her, had more strength than others, both physical and mental.
- Radio. Reply. Let them help us...
Ah, yes. Radio! Miranda slapped a hand to her forehead. Perfect? Yeah, right - she thought.
- I'm Miranda Lawson. I'm in the processing ship at the stadium. I found five survivors. I repeat, five survivors! - At the sound of her own words, Miranda smiled to herself.
After a while, the radio answered with the same female voice like the moment before.
- Miranda! We are looking for you. The stadium, you say... Prangley told us, where you went. Wrex is coming for you with a few krogans. They should be there soon.

Lawson recognized that voice. Samara. They knew each other since working for Cerberus, or, perhaps, for Shepard, because asari biotic thought about it that way.
- What about Prangley and the rest?
- They are ok. I'm with them. I help as I can, biotic barriers and stuff, but the enemy grows in strength. Wrex will help you to withdraw to us, and then we're gonna run to Kodiak.
- But how is that possible, you all here, I mean? We've been told to contact the Alliance, if we find someone alive. And just now we did - Miranda was surprised.
- We're here for you, not them. We've got informations from Brynn Cole. About Shepard, but it's a long story. There's no time for it now. Get those survivors ready to hit the road. Wrex will be there at any moment.

                                                                                              III

Five krogans were marching through the ruins of a deserted town in a disciplined formation. They've been moving from one cover to another. Prangley showed them on the map some stadium, which was used by  people to play some kind of sport before the war. The only sports, that krogan practiced on their homeworld are varren races and shooting to pyjacks. They believed, that the physical activity, in which no one was losing blood, was meaningless. The stadium had been in sight. Only fifty metres was between them and their goal.
- Banshee on our second! - one of them shouted.

They looked. After a while, they saw two. Banshee - mutated asari. Powerful and unpredictable. They could jump a dozen meters, using just biotic, which in itself makes them a difficult opponent. Moreover, they were amazingly strong. Why Banshee!? Wrex regretted that he'd left Samara with Prangley and the rest of the survivors. She could be useful right now, but surely there is a lot of work for her in the church as well. Flare certainly alarmed the enemy. We need to take out these two and move on. - Wrex thouught. - It's close.

He made a few quick gestures with his hands. Krogan obediently scattered in the blink of an eye. They were looking for cover to avoid asari's deadly biotic hits. Wrex had some biotic abilities, but he knew, that he's no match against mutated asari, whose potential was further enhanced by implants. He decided to let go throwing stasis. Wouldn't work. Instead, he strengthened his own barrier and moved to one of the attackers, running around her. By this, he focused her attention on himself, so two of his subordinates could mercilessly shoot her from the back, what they gladly did. The other two krogans played on time with the second of them. Alternately, they opened fire, going back for another cover. In this way, they've been dragging her into the other street.

Wrex rushed for a pile of rubble, that once was the main entrance to the stadium. Banshee was completely exhausted. He could see it, but they had to kill her quickly, because two companions might not have time to entertain the other mutant. He jumped out from behind the cover, and ran toward the enemy while firing his shotgun in great rage. He loved this gun and knew, how to use it. He took the Banshee powerful biotic hit on his armor, but overcame the pain and did not stop shooting. The krogan have lost his breath for a moment after the hit - she was still powerful. Wrex has lost sight of two of his soldiers, who disappeared somewhere in the second street. Three rifles focused on the enemy had to bring her down, and they did, just few seconds later. Banshee exploded with biotic for the last time. Krogans, without a moment's delay, started to run for the street corner, where two of their comrades were fighting with the other of them. They were too far, but then, they heard a loud bang. Biotic strike disrupted Banshee's balance. Two krogan, overwhelmed by her, used the moment, jumped behind the ruins of a wall and opened fire, shooting at the beast. On the other hand, Wrex and the other two attacked from behind. In that kind of cross-fire no one would survive. Banshee fell. The krogans were not injured. A few scratches was not able to break them. Wrex looked toward the entrance of the stadium. Biotic strike was the work of Miranda, who stood in the doorway, straight and confident. Behind her, however, Wrex saw five people. They did not look good.

- Who are these people, Lawson ? - Wrex muttered .
- Survivors of the processing ship.
- Leave them. We take just you and your team, if it's possible .
- I fulfilled my mission, Wrex. You will fulfill yours, only if you'll help them - Miranda made it clear.
- Despite I'm krogan, I'm quite good with counting. There are five of them. Just like us. It's hard to shoot, while you carry man on your back.
- Two of them can still walk, so two of you will have free hands. I'll cover our group with biotic barrier. I think we can ... - Her voice seemed to lose strictness - get to the church.
- I hope it will be worth it - said Wrex and ordered his soldiers to help three weakest people. He and fifth krogan changed clips in their shotguns.

                                                                                       IV

Samara hasn't had time to think. Half an hour after Wrex and his group came out looking for Miranda, she had to put a fully sealed biotic barrier. The church have been attacked by the group of cannibals lead by modified turians. Lawson's team, though decimated, was seasoned in battle. They shot on target, killing a lot of enemies. Jason Prangley strengthened Samara's shield with his skills. Asari learned, that he is one of the students of Grissom Academy, of Jack, her companion from the time they worked for Shepard. If Jack taught him, he must know a lot of biotic tricks. - thought Samara. - And bad words too.

The third hour passed. On the other side of the square, that separated church from the rest of the buildings, biotic shield has appeared, with a few krogans and humans inside it. Reapers forces were catched in ticks, surrounded, at least they thought so. The commanding creatures had to expect, that powerful support for the church is coming. So they retreated. They could not know, that inside the blue bubble are just five krogans with last clips of ammo and several people on the verge of death.

- It's them! - Prangley shouted victoriously.
- Get ready to march. Now! We don't have much time - Samara tried to curb his enthusiasm. The four people from the squad started packing hardware, which they still had. There wasn't much of it.
Group of Wrex and Miranda came to the church. Smiles appeared on all of faces. On the line of buildings on second side of the square, they've seen more and more profiles of the Reapers. Cannibals, Marauders, zombies. Banshee.
- They will storm - said Wrex, and changed clip in his gun.
Miranda's people took the wounded from the Reaper's ship and they put them in the car, which Prangley was able to fix. Seven people could get in. People. Krogans, for obvious reasons, wouldn't fit .
- Five survivors, Lawson and asari. To the vehicle, now - Wrex gave an order.
- What about you ? - Miranda asked.
- This is about you, it's all about you here. You can save Shepard. We all owe him a lot. Samara will give you a datapad with information that will let you save him. Doctor Cole provided us with it. Do not ask questions, not now. Keep moving. Samara knows, where you need to go. We will try to join, but if we will not be there within an hour, then you have to move without looking back.

Miranda nodded, accepting the order.
- Prangley, can you handle it?
- I will destroy them - he said firmly, and raised his fist.

Vehicle was ready. They drove towards the highest hill in the area. There have been five Wrex's krogans and several people under Prangley's command in the ruins of the church. The onslaught was about to begin.
