My Arisen - and her respective pawn - look so incredibly different from others' PC's and pawns. She actually feels like she's my role playing character, created by me. I'm not a modder, so folks like myself benefit from an array of physical feature options, right down to the way our PC stands/slouches.
In DAO and DA2 the bodies were all stock female/stock male. I didn't like it. I don't understand why Dragon Age sells itself as being an immersive, customizable RPG when they shove default heroes with default bodies (bodies you can't change) down our collective throats.
If Bioware is trying to break through the mold and redeem themselves from DA2, I feel they should copycat - if not improve upon - Capcom's character creation system from Dragon's Dogma. In addition to that, they should copycat - if not improve upon - Capcom's weapon/armor/clothing selection from Dragon's Dogma as well.
I'd gladly shave down/give up resources wasted on some of the more superfluous DA gimmicks to place more unique focus on the central figure of the entire game: YOU.
