There are already ways to save teammates.. do more damage (pay attention) and stagger phantoms (pay attention).

I've never been sync killed when I have a good Destroyer using a Striker on my team.

Yes, a cooldown timer for saving players from sync kills would be necessary to avoid that.
Beside that it would make the game more fun, wouldn't it?
