How do you make NPC's use higher tiers of weapons and armour because in the toolset you only see tier 1, Alistair for example wears grey iron (tier 2) but in the toolset his armours iron (tier 1) and I don't know how to change it.
Any help would be very much appreciated, thanks.

The system is designed around level scaling. Default equipment generally scales with character level, which cuts down on a lot of design work, as you only need one set of items regardless of level. So basically if you want an NPC in dragonbone gear, make him a high level. I think there's a breakdown of the levels for tiers in one of the 2DAs.
If you want equipment of a specific tier independent of level, then you will likely need to create items with a fixed tier. However, remember that tiers have a level restriction, and I'm not sure whether NPCs can bypass that. I don't know what happens when you equip a level 1 NPC with dragonbone gear, say. Possibly the game will forcibly unequip them, not sure. Only one way to find out I guess.

Well I've already given the guards and Sir Gilmore heavy steel armour and Fergus has heavy silverite armour and they have stayed equipped, but how do I make an NPC a higher level preferably high enough to wear tier 3 leather.
By the way, this is an alternative solution to my other post 'Changing Mother's Armor' as I just want to give her higher tiered studded leather armour.

You don't want to go changing the level of combat NPCs, or you'll alter the game balance, likely for the worse.

Changing her level shouldn't impact the game balance too much as it'll only be for the first 20 minutes of the game, I also have already given myself Silverite weapons and armour that are as powerful as Dragonbone.
Also, how do I find the 2DA that I need to find out the levels for tiers?
