Dragoons are the Cerberus equivalent of the Geth stunfest. Cheap, monstrously annoying and frustrating, and obviously a Bioware overreaction that failed to bring their respective faction up to the standard of the Reapers, as far as being fun to play against and balanced.

btw, Dragoons are super hard to stagger, but easy to stun with ED or Overload. I've found the TGI to be the kit that deals with them the most effectively. TC, stun with overload, shoot to kill. Done. Anybody who can detonate FEs is great, too.

Warp + Throw

It one hits a Dragoon, so to speak. If a Biotric Explosion can be counted as a one hit kill.

I don't find Cerb too much trouble...the smashguard performs well against them. You just have to prioritize...get rid of engineers and phantoms asap or they will overwhelm you, especially on gold...i've turneed corners with 3 phantoms staring me down followed closely by their dragoon boyfriends...it can get hectic.

I can still manage them tho, but again, if you don't take care of engineers, the turrets will tear you down from every corner of the map, if you can manage them effectively then they aren't that big of a deal.

Geth on the other hand, are the faction i despise the most...invisible rocket troopers shooting multiple rockets that can put you in the red almost immediately? And Primes with combat drones that stagger you all over the place AND can hit you from across the map?....incredibly irritating..

try the asari adept did a platinum solo vs cerbs with her equiped with paladin... obviously stasis negates phantoms and warp throw BEs can take care of multiple dragoons as they like to bunch up.

Geth scanner helps exponentially versus Cerberus. Turrets, Phantoms, Dragoons make it almost necessity to have a brief setup period for them along with a specific sidearm and/or ability to trivialize Phantoms.

I'm still working on a solid answer against Cerby, Slayer perhaps? Image IPB But, against Geth, MQE is almost easy mode:

Incendiary ammo Adas; Grenade Cap V; AR Amp if you want.

Mode 1:
Use the fiery Adas to drop shields and prime + Incinerate = FE
Mode 2:
Incinerate spawn + Arc Grenade = FE
Mode 3:
Arc Grenade  to unshield spawn + Incinerate = TB

Ration Thermal Clips as necessary.  MQE = Geth extinction.

That's why I nuked him too. Turrets are nothing compared to Nemesis though, at least you can use an Ops Pack when one starts shooting at you. Nemesis? Shieldgate/healthgate/death guaranteed. At least 90% of my deaths on this map are caused by these adrenaline-pumped, hyperactive 1337 no scope aimbotters. God I hate them so much! :pinched:

That was ridiculous. Nemesis -> Nemesis -> Engineer (Phalanx just to add insult to injury) = dead in less than 1 second. LOL!

Actually, it was the subsequent rage-rocket that made me LOL! :D

See what I mean though? Every unit's got a gun, and between each other, they can essentially bypass the Damage Gates mechanic. And then there's the Atlas space magic rocket DOT, that can kill squishy kits in one shot (given @ full Barriers/Shields but maybe 2-3 bars of Health).

I'm not a vanguard fan (quiet you), but I can see where they could easily take on Cerberus. I'm going to take a look at my Slayer and spec out the Asari vanguard. I don't think I've ever used her. The AA stasis sniper, well yeah, but not the vanguard yet. There goes my Thursday night...

Absolutely, I hate them with intensity too. The thing I hate most is when they fire at you perfectly from 2 mts as you're moving. They surely have l337 quickscoping skills...

You have to learn to build your characters to take down Phantoms quickly, and up-close. If you try to take them out a range, you are going to have a real hard time with it. Some characters would have to focus on their weapons to take down Phantoms, while others can focus on using powers and, in the cases of the Krogan and Juggy, melee.

My Warlord can one-shot Phantoms with Biotic Hammer, my Batguard can BC and immediately follow up with his Falcon Punch to destroy Phantoms, and my Novaguard can destroy groups of Phantoms, and that's on gold. It's a matter of coming up with the right build to take down Phantoms. It you can do that, you should be able to troll everything except the Atlases (because they are bosses).

When you see Turrets, head for cover and look for the Engineers. You take down the Engineers, you remove the threat of additional Turrets and the possibility of them repairing Atlases.

I have actually found Fire Explosions to work very inconsistently on Dragoons.  If you hit them with a detonator as they are whipping, the explosion often won't detonate.  It's very annoying.  This is usually a problem for kits that use Incinerate as the primer (e.g., my HE), because you have to wait for Incinerate to cool down before you detonate, which can give them time to get on top of you.  Using ammo-based Fire Explosions with a non-dodgeable detonator like you described would make that less of an issue.

Anyway, I think the Batarian Soldier is my favorite class against Cerberus.  Ballistic Blades do a great job staggering Phantoms and Dragoons (except when your idiot teammate throws a power at the Phantom just as you are doing a BB/Punch combo, which nullifies the BB and gets you a sword in the gut).  Groups of Dragoons are easily handled by a single Inferno Grenade.  And the Batarian's surprisingly fast sprint speed allows you to run by Turrets pretty well.

As has been said above, the slayer with, say, talon or acolyte + incendiary/disruptor ammo, power amps and maxed PD can kill Cerberus quite nicely. TB or FE chews up their dangerous enemies.

Fury with a scorpion is great to stagger and BE phantoms. She can also DC, go for a smoke and listen to phantoms scream in agony unto death. Same with Asari Infiltrator. Good times.

Np lol.  I find almost always use a charged shot, the area it primes is crazy... and because of charge shot mechanic you can fire the gun and incin simultaneously for area setups with both ammo and power, tb/fe simultaneously... and then when you need the extra damage start adding a arc grenade into the venom incin spam here and there.  So much boom boom.... so much stun lock...

Use a vanguard.

Step 1: find an enemy
Step 2: BC
Step 3: combination of fire/other powers without a CD

When you hit the shieldgate, go back to step 2 and start again.

After 12-13 minutes you'll be like "wow, wave 10 already?"

I just got done with a match I hosted.  My 1st (maybe last) of the day.  Unknown/Unknown/Gold.  No one joined in the first 30 seconds so I readied up and got in the Kodiak.  What's the worst that can happen, right?  I get Collectors?  Sure, bring it, space crab, aren't you a glutton for punishment.

N7 Fury / Eagle X (Armor Piercing V + Ext. Barrel V) / Survivor V / Warp Ammo III / Adrenaline III / Pistol Rail Amp III.

And the f***er took me to FB:White vs. Cerberus. <_< This game HATES me. :unsure:

Towards the end of Wave 1, a KroGuard, a KroLord, and an AIU joined.  Yay.  But ehhh.  Wave 8 or 9, something.  I got 1-shot by an Atlas rocket in the upper office.  I had Barriers and 4 bars of Health.  WTF?  And *I'm* the host.  Geez. :blink: Must have gotten hit by a stray bullet that ShieldGated me or something.  Yeah, that same instant.  Whatever.

One Phantom, 3 BE's.  Still alive and screaming, "yeah, bring it, scrubby Fury nooblet, I got 75% DR!  Cartwheel, cartwheel." :mellow: To which I retorted, "oh yeah?  Well, put up your sword then, aww that's right:  I broke it.  And now here comes the Warlord, who's gonna kick you across the room."  (But IIRC, I think the AIU Raider'd her before the KroLord connected.)

On a side note, overall decent PuG though.

No, yeah, you're right.  I just wasn't thinking and didn't expect the game to troll me. :D

It's just... odd to me that I somewhat need to take one specific gun to deal with one unit of a faction.  It's... ehh.  You know?  And I'm kind'a liking the N7 Eagle on her too.  I don't care for dual-wielding, but it'd be kind'a cool to be able to take 2 pistols to a match.

 I've been saying this for at least 6 months.  Cerberus is the biggest troll faction in the game.
