I've yet to play a bad Bioware game. I've yet to play a mediocre Bioware game.

I don't expect that to change, regardless of others' wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Oh, yes! I forget to say it:

As for the topic, if IFS and BUTS were CANDY and NUTS, we'd all have a merry Christmas.

My question is based on Bioware's track record. If DA: I has some controversy which the fans universally despise like a Starchild, would you still support Bioware? I already dropped this series after the failure that was DA2 but I was wondering what the rest of you that still stay with this series would think

I feel the need to state that there's probably not a single thing that is "universally" felt a certain way about in...well, in the universe.  Much less in gaming, including the Catalyst.

I'd consider myself a loyal fan, who became one after DAO (having already played and loved Baldur's Gate).  I also quite liked DA2, and thought that ME3 was terrific, despite their flaws.  I suspect I'll love DAI.  But if it so happens that, for whatever reason, I'm deeply disappointed?  Then I'll be disappointed.  And then, somehow, some way, I'll find the strength to move on.  And whatever BioWare's next release may be, I'll do the same thing I already do.  Which is to say, anticipate it, learn information about it, follow development, and choose whether or not to buy.

For what it's worth, with the controversy over the ME3 endings, as well as issues some had with the end of DA2, I'd imagine that they're putting quite a bit of thought and effort into the ending of DAI.

And if onlys and justs were candies and nuts then every day would be Erntedankfest.

Then well then I'll be glad that I didn't get the game anyway since it's not going to let you main a Dwarf. See it worked out with DA2. I wasn't disappointed in DA2, because I didn't play it because it had no Dwarven Main Character.

If something like that happened, it would be the last straw for me, so to speak. I wouldn't buy BioWare games at all after that. However, I have a good feeling about DA: I.

I had a great feeling on ME3. It's the only game I've ever preordered or bought the special edition for. I just assumed, and everything I saw underscored my assumption, that ME3 was going to be the best game of 2012.

It wasn't in the top five.

What if Inquisition is an absolute beast of a game that completely dwarfs any other game out there? Will that bring back the people who have "given up" on the franchise and BioWare? And more importantly, will it mean that threads like this will finally stop popping up every two seconds?

no, they just going to keep coming. no matter what as a whole people on the bsn hate newer bioware games. I can't figure it out. I've tried it just makes my head hurt. though I have figured out the the people who work for bioware are saints for putting up with this mess. though I'm fairly sure da: I willl be a good game... then again I like da: 2 and me 3.

Never played ME, because I'm generally not interested in sci-fi and the ME3 demo was pretty boring. So I can't comment on ME3's ending, but if DA:I turns out to be another DA II, I'll drop the series. Thus I'm not pre-ordering and I'll wait for various reviews and "let's play"s on youtube.

So far DA:I sounds promising because it seems the devs have learned from DA II, as long as I don't see actual gameplay, I'm staying cautiously optimistic. Mike Laidlaw has to show that he can implement interesting combat (at least for my tastes) or if I still don't agree with his visions.

Da2 was fatnstic even with it's flaws and it's rushness.
i am on my last moments in my 4 playthrough atm in nightmare and the game played like a beast. Gameplay is tactical enough.
The game (da2) needed however more time in development for polishing. Music transitions, aesthetic changes, more maps, better battles, balancing etc.

I loved ME3, so that'd be great. I'd be more worried that it would turn out to be another DA2, but considering the backlash I'm sure BioWare is doing everything they can to avoid that

Oh I'm perfectly fine with people having issues with a game-- I had my own issues with both DA2 and ME3 but I still enjoyed both games overall. But these doom and gloom "what if" threads just seem pointless to me. Pointless and dreadfully repetitive.

As long as there is no God like figure who swoops down at the 11th hour to explain a plot twist & to provide exposition that is either poorly done or contradictory to the games narrative I don't think I will be pulling my hair out in frustration.

ME 3 had a lot of other problems that are on par with it's **** ending IMO like the poor use of characters (what a waste), plot holes, boring "Filler" quests, lack of "epic" game play moments & Being a neutered RPG experience.

ME 3 does have quality to it of course, but it's biggest failings are on the writers & that the game was just too ambitious (that piece of **** ME2 making things worse).

DAI has a lot of things going in their favor. This is their "come back" game, they have a new engine, they will have had over 3 years dev time, they have a very good lead writer (David I love you) & the game won't be crippled by unrealistic expectations or hopefully a BS marketing campaign.
I know proclaiming such sight unseen isn't smart but I'm 90% sure DAI will be a great game that will get Bio (the DA team) back in everyone's good book.

The biggest problem with ME3, is that the writers wanted to take advantage of the large audience to tell a story. However, for this story to work (they failed anyways) they needed to auto-dialogue a bunch of crap, tone down renegade Shepard, and make Shepard have emotions that made no sense considering the amount of crap he's done up to that point.

We've got a few months to talk about jack since the Devs are mum on the issue. What else are we supposed to do, make more romance threads?

Oh yes, please! I think some "give stones and trees romances" or "give us a guy who lives in a womans body and is bi as companion and LI" threads are missing.

Lol, and the people who hate ME3 never tell its fans that they're stupid and wrong for liking it.
