Personally, I hope not.  I hope any sign of the Reapers in Mass Effect 2 will only be parts of Sovereign floating around and not an actual Reaper.  The reason for this is because Sovereign is such an iconic, Lovecraftian villain, I don't want to lose him as the "face" of the Reapers.  I want the Reapers to only exist now en masse, as the threat for Mass Effect 3.

Meeting Sovereign 2.0, would just diminish his awesome.

The reapers are the threat in the trilogy, so they would have to be in this game.

Well, others have pointed out that you see a destroyed Reaper floating in one of the trailers (don't ask me which, I forgot)

True, but there's a difference between the threat of the Reapers vs. the Reapers showing up personally.

Star Wars has the Emperor mentioned.  He makes a brief appearance in the Empire Strikes Back.  He doesn't show up in person until Return of the Jedi.  The Collectors are almost certainly Reaper lackeys (just a guess on my part) like Saren.  But that doesn't mean we have to see their "Boss" since the Collector Leader could very easily serve as the "main villain."  Their Darth Vader basically.

That could be Sovereign's remains possibly, just a thought.

And, I believe that Casey said in the Best Buy interview, that's footage from a major point.

Since Sov seemed to be the only reaper watching the galaxie, i hope he'll remain the only vital one we get to see until ME3

Fighting a Reaper in person instead of a 'puppet avatar' would certainly qualify as a suicide mission.

Maybe.  Undoubtedly it'd really just be sneaking "aboard" and planting a nuke or something inside of it.  Sort of a larger and nastier version of the Virmire mission.

I don't think they'd do that though.

Yup, dead reaper at least. It's even in the Prima Guide index.

Think if you took on a Reaper 1 on 1... the Reaper would win... Its an AI so it will probably know your coming before you even see it, not to mention one shot from one of its lasers would pretty much vaporize a ship like the Normandy which was smaller then the Alliance ships. Seriously just look at what Sovereign could do at the end of ME when it finally decided to attack.

But all in all, i think it would be interesting to see a reaper again, even if its not the physical ship but, to actually see the holographic talking Reaper interface again with the Reaper giving shep a warning that he/she cannot stop what is inevitable. >_>

The Normandy V2.0 has a new hyper-drive that's based on Reaper tech, and a customizable aquarium.

The collectors have massive collecting ships and put people into little egg shaped pods filled with disgusting organic goop and their colonies look creepy like Xenomorph colonies.

Apparently the Collectors are tools of the Reapers, so I think we're only going to be fighting the Reapers indirectly.
