We know from the Mass Effect: Redemption comic and the trailers that Shepard gets killed and is brought back as the Terminator. We don't know the extent of his injuries, cybernetic replacements, or so on but it's a good bet that he was blown to pieces and then re-animated like the Modern Prometheus.
This is a thread to basically discuss what the reprocussions for this in-game will be. We already know Shepardstein's body is going to be something he's awkward and weakened in (probably because even people in the future probably would need months of physical therapy after DEATH---Shepard's just THAT badass enough to still be equal to an average Marine).
Will there be much trauma and people "moving on" with Shepardstein's 2 year absence? Will there be options to angst over it?

Technically, should be "Shepardstein's monster" or "Frankenstein's Shepard".
Frankenstein was a scientist, not a green dude.

True, though I've always argued that the Creature is the son of Doctor Frankenstein, so the name isn't as inaccurate as you might think of it. In the case of Shepardstein, I have my own theory about what exactly he is. I think that he's a full blown cyborg and he's been outfitted with Reaper as well as Geth technology.
Why?
Because, thematically, it links him with Saren. It also makes his current situation all the more horrifying.

If you're really being technical shouldn't it be Illusivestein's Shepard/Monster/whatever?

Every few hours he probably has to sit in a bathtub filled with ice.

So, amongst us Renegade Sheps, do you like the "Red Streaks" on Shepard's face?

He's ascended into a vessel that can be made immortal, but temporarily weakened while he adjusts from puny flesh to superior materials. Soon he'll realize that he have nothing in common with the meat-bags that surrounds him, and joins the reapers in their mission to rid the galaxy of the unworthy.
Well not really. But I'm interested in seeing what this may mean for his situation. He's going to have some difficulties proving for himself and others that he is still human. I can imagine a renegade could really enjoy the potentials of power this could bring.
EDIT: It also makes some sense concerning the veins; a paragon will want to become more human with all the flaws that follows, while a renegade would prioritize improving his cybernetic enhanced body.

If shep get to be soem sort of terminator cyborg it would be ironic and super badass.
Infact, if i could, i would have my arm replaced with some sort of uber robotic prosetetic that let me punch through walls and the like.

So long as they don't just gloss it over and my Shepard is able to talk about her own fears regarding this "loss of humanity", I will be pleased.

I wonder if there will be some "Donna wanna spil the fun, but there's no light."-line, after you are revived.

I hope the first lines of the game after re-animation are...
"How do you feel Shepard?"
"Like morning after Shore leave."

Dude, please, Zombie Cyborg Shepard is the preferred nomenclature.
I'd hope there is some chance for reflection. Is Shepard still Shepard? Or just a clone abomination brought "back" to "life" by Miranda?
The meetings with Tali and Garrus don't give much hope. Shepard as acted by Mr. Meer comes across as a vacuous dim bulb.
I hope I'm wrong. Death, actual death, and remaining dead for two years... It shouldn't be something that's just there to provide a setting for the character creation sequence and a tutorial.
