The new poll for September's theme is up and ready for voting.

Hey AD! Since the vote is so split, how about a run-off between the top 3?

Thanks!

Arcane Space looks to be sort of keeping the lead at the moment though, its just second and third that are undecided

I don't see a real reason for a run-off before the regular voting is finished.  The vote may currently be split, but several votes usually come in at the end of the month.  I've yet to see a month with a tie vote for the top.  I've seen very close (only a vote or two difference), but never yet a tie.  In the off chance that there is a tie someday, I'll probably just roll a d20 for each tied option, highest roll becomes the month's theme.

Perhaps, in the event of a tie, simply take the longer sufferi... er, most senior theme :-)

Having kept watch over recent months I can guarantee that there won't be a tie. If I was any more paranoid than I already am I would say that there are 1 or more people who delight in waiting until the end of the month before posting just so they can upset the people who think that they have a slam dunk on finally getting their choice finally through. I wouldn't have been so suspicious but when I saw 6 votes being given to the eventual winner on the day before the end of voting for the July poll (ie conducted in June for the July theme) - well you just can't but help to be suspicious.

Hence the reason I'd personally prefer not to post ongoing vote totals before the end, but when asked here a while ago, many people preferred knowing the vote counts before adding their own vote.

I prefer voting myself without possibly being influenced by how others have already voted.

@AD, people can see the current score by simply not signing in before going to the voting page. While they can't vote, they can see the current state of play.

Just took an image of the voting page at 17:30 BST (i.e. should be 09:30 Arizona time). Arcane Space at 8 votes, Surprise Me at 6 votes, rest less.

Sigh - another challenge I won't partake in. I just can't get myself excited about Spelljammer. Worst thing TSR ever did IMO.

@Pstemarie please take a look in the thread for the challenge at the suggestions I've made there.

Having both suggested this months theme and voting for it for about 3 years I am somewhat at a loss as to what to vote for in the future. I had given up hope of this result ever actually occurring. In those three years many talented creators have moved away from nwn so we need all the participants we can get (especially as I have yet to get the hang of 3d modelling). So please reconsider. Anyway Psionics was the worst idea TSR ever had (^_^).

Psionics - yeah forgot about that. Although the Psionicists Handbook (had a maroon cover) was great for a Mountain Dew coaster.

I vaguely remember psionics (at least in 2nd edition). Looked like an ok alternative to regular magic...if you removed regular D&D magic first. If I recall, they didn't play very well together.

In my PW (and the gameworld it's based on), there have never been, nor will there ever be, psionics. I've allowed several "psionicist" characters (because I don't really want to limit the roleplay too much)...they can just play as sorcerers and call it "psionics". :)

Ugh. I hated psionics. It was the bane of 1st edition D&D and served primarilly as fodder for barracks room lawyers. It threw the entire game out of balance, especially the "blast" talent. I flat out refused to let players use it.

I'm not a fan of spelljammer either. Oh well. There's always next month.
