On the whole, I have encountered very few bugs/glitches in any of the Mass Effect games I have played, unlike some other games (cough, Skyrim, cough). But every once and a while something goes wrong that makes you just stop and marvel at the bizareness.

Mass Effect fundamentally challenges our concepts of physics

In our universe, two bodies cannot occupy the same space at the same time. Element zero, however, changes all that, allowing enemy soldiers to spawn inside walls and crates. While immune to bullets, however, it is fortunate that these massless soldiers can be finished off with massless magical powers.

Detachable Collector wings

Did you know Collectors' wings are detachable? While on Horizon Sheppard ran into a pair of Collector wings on the ground flapping away madly, making that buzzing sound, but with no collector in sight.

Zombie dogs

While doing Grunt's rite of passage Sheppard encountered a varren that was not alive, but would not die. The squad kept right on shooting at it and Sheppard had a targeting recticle for it, but it had zero health. It just lay there on the ground doing nothing, but also refusing to die. Fortunately, in the Mass Effect universe, time travel is an option so Sheppard activated the way-back machine to restart the mission.

The Ghost Truck of Illium

While chasing Vasir Sheppard had to deal with the Shadow Broker's agents flying into a carport in the beds of trucks, four agents per truck. After dealing with two truck loads, a third truck flew in but when the side panel lowered, there was no-one there. Had they fallen off on the way to their destination? We will never know since Sheppard had to activate the way-back machine in order to continue chasing Vasir.

The Phantom Batarians

While infiltrating a Batarian prison on the planet Arathot, Sheppard encountered two Batarian "guards" floating about 5 feet off the ground, frozen in position with their arms at their sides. These "guards" looked like black mannequins with yellow eyes. They did not move or acknowledge Sheppard's presence, just floated there in the air, leading Sheppard to conclude that they were actually decoys meant to fool potential invaders about the true strength of the prison garrison.
