I've just started another playthrough of Mass Effect 1 (Now with CDAMJC's latest texture mod, highly recommended) and just after meeting the council for the first time, then speaking with Harkin, I was walking through the upper wards heading towards the med bay and noticed a 'scenic viewpoint' was highlighted. There was a good minute of dialogue between Ashley, Kaiden and Shepard that I had somehow just missed on all of my other playthroughs - an amusing one too.
I've done this a few times and it's one of the reasons that the mass effect games stand out to me, anyone else have similar experience.
The part of the conversation referenced above that I liked the most was this part. Following a some comments about how hard it must be to keep all the races integrated and peaceful, Ashley makes a comment about the council just not liking humans. In response...
Shepard "Why not? We've got oceans, beautiful women, this emotion called Love. According to the old vids we have everything they want"
Ashley "If you want to get me in a tin foil mini skirt and thigh high boots, I want dinner first!.. er, Sir."
Kaiden: "That'll be enough chief"
Shepard "At ease Leiutenant. Can't see her in a skirt anyway"
Ashley (Voice kind of broken a little, seeming nervous about talking back to commanding officer) "Damn.... straight. ..You ..can't"
I just laughed out loud at that little exchange and was pretty amazed that even after all these playthroughs I can still find parts that are new to me.
Still finding new things..

Yeah also why I love this game. Every time I replay ME (I'm on about my 6th playthrough now) I say to myself I'm going to do things differently. So far all I've managed is to change class, and save ashley instead of Kaiden. I tried to play a renegade but got as far as being made a spectre before I realised I just couldn't continue. I started again, installed that same texture mod by CDAMJC, and really enjoying it again. Vanguard in ME1 is boring compared to 2 and 3 though.
