Let me start off by saying I have had my same custom made shepard for each game. Probably have played the 3 games 9 times at least. After putting down the game for months and dissappointed. I wasn't pissed off or anything but it left a sour feeling.  Anyways, after playing me1 and me2 with finally a different shepard, it made me really appreciate the other 2 games. My question is, is it worth it to even play me3 knowing what happens. It's like me going through all the games again, kind of brand new except knowing what awaits in me3. I kind of liked how me2 ended with us celebrating.

P.S yeah I know the endings again.

If you put it aside before Citadel, then yes definitely worth it at least to enjoy the interactions in that DLC.

Yeah it's an amazing game. You just got to accept the ending. Bioware are not going to change it, just do what I did; get the happy ending mod if you're on PC.

Yup... It's a brand new custom Shepard. I can't see why you shouldn't. :)

Maybe if you try a new PT, you could appreciate ME3 more just like the 2 previous games.

I recently played through the whole series again on a new character. ME3 is my favorite.

If you're on a PC I highly recommend getting the Mass Effect Happy Ending Mod (MEHEM). It totally made the game playable again for me

Go ahead. Make sure you get the Citadel DLC while you're at it.

No. The series has a declining sense of player agency. In ME3 the illusion evaporates long before the ending. In the end all that is enjoyable is the combat and there are games that do that better. If you want a game that has player agency play Arabian Nights , or Numenera.

Yes. Your new Shep should pick a different ending, and maybe different other things too. And get some different people killed in ME2 if you haven't already.

There is a mod for that. Wow gonna look that up. Don't have it on PC though.

Yes, but remember to play DLC's in this order:

1. From the Ashes, as soon as possible,
2. Omega, after Cerberus citadel coup,
3. Leviathan, after Thessia,
4. Citadel, after credits.

Yes, you never should have parted with it in the first place.

no mater how much time you give it, the endings will still leave you with that feeling.

Play it again (and since you are on console, play through to the EC ending, but if you really don't like it, simply don't pay attention to it [maybe read a magazine during it or listen to some music ]), then youtube MEHEM, MEEM, or whatever mod you like. That way you play the whole game and in case ME4 has importing, you'll not have to worry about anything.

But be sure to get the DLC's (or at least FA, Leviathan, and Citadel)

I haven't played since I finished my 2nd game and didn't finish the 3rd. But yesterday I started a new Shepard to see if this works. No carry over no Shepard who tried to balance her options.

I have no history with her and I'm playing it as if it had no connection to ME1 and 2 except what they have put in it. So far it's working ok. Not great, but ok. So you might try that.

If you want to feel like your Shepard's mind was hijacked, then go for it.

Pick it up for Citadel DLC. Then cry about the game all over again, like what I did.

Most of my saved Shepards were fairly well balanced and that's not possible in ME3 so I won't be playing any of them.

But there are things I like about the game which is why I'm trying it as if I had never played ME1 and 2.    Defeats the purpose of having a series with a carryover main character, but I liked some of the game other than the multipul choce endings, too many movie cut scenes and lack of a middle option.

So I'm not sure yet if I'll play it again after this experiment, but i want to see how it goes.

Go for it.

There are still many things to enjoy about the ME3*. I liked the sense of urgency and immediacy present in the game, character cameos from ME2, satisfying payoffs in the Tuchanka and Rannoch sections as well as the smoother, smarter and more fluid combat.

However, I abandoned my third playthrough just before Cerberus base and played through Citadel DLC instead. I was not motivated to play through the Priority Earth section in the least.

* Despite the dumbing-down of RPG elements in favour of FPS, loss of player agency in the game, subdued characterisation, nonsensical inclusions and redundant plot elements. And those endings. Those last flipping 15 minutes.

I object to this foolishy foolish drabble. ME3 is a masterpiece of a disaster.

I decided to not go into me3 with this shepard. I liked the way it ended with this shepard through the 2 games and don't feel the need or want to go into the next game. I may go back to my old shepard and play again. I have only had one shepard throughout my whole me experience and it felt weird going through the game with a new one. It just never felt right and the shepard I did the games with look like me so felt like I was playing with someone else.
