Connections:
1 - It's not just a match that takes forever to load, it's EVERY screen change.
2 - 99.999% of the time, someone disconnects from the match (seems to be mostly the case for PUGs). You might start with 3 people, someone joins GIP, but someone else inevitably disconnects. It's rare to extract with 4 people.
3 - About 75.999% of those disconnects are the host.
~ I feel lucky that I've only had a couple of DCs mid-game, and a few others as the match was loading which wasn't a big deal.
4 - Getting a lobby of friends together can be excrutiating. It seems most of the time, at least a couple of people can't hear each other in chat (chat audio seems to be generally bugged/bad), and/or people simply can't join. Top that off with the fact that it takes a millenia for each person to load into the lobby.
~ Sure I've seen all these things happen on PC and Xbox, but not practically every single time! I've only played 24 or so hours on PS3, and I've seen more connection issues (i.e. almost every match) in that small amount of time than I've seen in the past year on Xbox and PC combined.
Gameplay:
1 - I've only gotten the infamous slideshow screens a couple of times, and breifly, but I can't wait to experience this phenomenom even more
2 - I haven't had the Collectors mem leak freeze/crash yet, but I have noticed at least a couple of matches vs. Collectors where the waves took forever to appear. I imagine this stems from the same issue with the DLC that causes crashes and haven't experienced it with any other faction.
3 - Lag spikes while people joing GIPs are worse than the other platforms, but this is to be expected given the connection and loading issues on PS3. We're all used to this anyway and I've never experienced it messing the game up (since AI is lagging out at the same time).
4 - After feeling completely naked without Geth Scanner or Hunter Mode, I finally unlocked the geth engineer... lo and behold, Hunter Mode seems to be completely bugged. Maybe it's just for the GE or bc it's specced a certain way, but I get vertical stripes all over my screen on top of the HM overlay - has not gone away at all after playing a variety of different maps.
5 - I've experienced other graphical errors (without using HM or GE) - tracer lines and diaganol jaggies, the latter of which seem to appear either at certain spots on certain maps and/or during certain combinations of events.
6 - It might be a difference in audio levels, but I'm convinced there's a different mission commander line spoken after completing objectives that I don't remember ever hearing on PC or Xbox
Miscellaneous:
One of the weirdest things was getting used to using the PS3 controller. Sure I've used it for other PS3 games, but after using the Xbox controller for ME3 MP, it was pretty weird. Using L1/R1 for aim/trigger on PS3 replaces using L/R Triggers on the Xbox controllers... so basically powers and weapon use are swapped. In the game options on the PS3 version of ME3 you can swap them so they match the way an Xbox controller is configured. I tried that for a little while, but realized that it was even more difficult for me because of the different size and shape of the controller and the L/R 1/2 buttons. I switched back to the default PS3 set up and have actually found weapon control to be a slight improvement over Xbox (so far)! Also, when I first started playing ME3 on PS3, I was using a new controller. After being really frusterated with everything in the beginning I decided to use the old controller that came with my PS3 (a 1st gen 60GB fatty!) and the nice, broken in old controller made everything so much better.
~ D-Pad isn't great but it has a much lower fail rate than the Xbox controller
~ L2/R2 aren't very responsive sometimes. You have to tap them for powers to work right. Xbox controller bumpers do a better job overall, but I could still be getting used to the configuration too.
Last but not least - Don't bother trying to kill anything with your Mantis X while TMB is Drellgodding with a Venom
