I never thought Meer could actually have... well, not fans, but people who thought he did well. I know I tolerate him, but to call him superior to Hale...? I guess it takes all kinds.

I liked him more than Hale definitely.

People like to think that there opinions are absolute, especially when they're constantly stated when they're not needed.  Otherwise, I can't compare since I haven't done a FemShep playthrough yet, but I did like Mark Meer's VA.

I notice two things watching that. First, the comment of spending 30-40 hrs in game. The only thing I didn't absolutely love about ME1 was it was too short, even playing all side quests. From the sounds of it, ME2 may not be much longer. Games like DA:O and Fallout 3, now that's where you really feel like you got your money's worth! Hopefully I'm wrong, but I'll love it either way.

2nd: Ashley in segment about Collectors - gets stung by the paralyzing bugs. Maybe that's how they have her give a cameo, calling for help, but doesn't survive to be party member??

30 hours is still a lot of game time plus, it looks like ME2's classes will play more distinctly then the differences in ME1 so multiple play-throughs should be rewarding and different!

I agree about Ashley/Kaidan and the bugs.  I doubt he or she survives.  I am just glad they are going to have a fitting cameo.

The devs specifically said that the love interest wasn't with you so they could be in ME3, would be kind of FAIL on Bioware's part if they died anyway.  I understand teasing and misleading, but I HIGHLY doubt Bioware would outright LIE about something.

I could maybe see a choice between Ash/Kaidan or a particular party member.  Maybe.  It would be redundant but it adds an interesting element nontheless.

I actually like him better than Hale in this game but I think both are fine actors and obviously Hale has a ton of experience she just does not sell it to me.  Meer does a fine job and BioWare seems fine with his work and I have never had an issue.

I think some people just like to feel like their choice is superior and want everyone to know ti even if it does not really matter much.

Well, I won't argue with your personal opinion, but... HAve you seen the Tali and Garrus reveals? Prime examples of wanna-be tough guy bluster and wooden delivery.

The lines he was given were pretty atrocious, but I bet Hale has made lemonade with them. Well...  most of them. Even she might stumble over something like the "Let's spill some merc blood!" nonsense.

Um, the devs said they didn't make Liara/Ashley/Kaidan squadmates so they can bring them back in ME3...where were you? And I don't understand why automatically come to the conclusion that they don't survive?

Would be incredibly emotional if they did die, though. a little bit annoying for those who did romance them if they did die though.  Hope they just get taken, because if they did die, I would be a little unhappy that the CHOICE to save them and romance them just lead to an "emotional" death scene at the expense of new LI's. That would be a cheap way out of navigating the Virmire choice, by simple negating it for ME3.

Heh. I wonder how much loyalty you have to have to hear that.....or maybe how you respond to his singing affects his loyalty?

I think it's fine it's a snippet of a whole conversation not every line I utter at every moment of every day is solid gold. I blunder, slip-up, and sound pretty wooden myself at times. I expect the same from games as well, and at the end of the day I go for the total experience and that total experience was pleasant with my male Shepherd.

I expect the same here.

They were definitely helping Legion walk--rather than carrying him--near the end. Which leads me to think that Legion went along voluntarily. The environment also matches the one in the enemies of ME2 video where you encounter him.

This is more evidence in support of Legion being recruitable. B)

BioWare is so teasing us.

Commander Shepard: Sounds like you want to dissect me in a lab somewhere.
Mordin: Yes, I would.

I get an inkling Mordin will be a fan favorite for ME2, he just has that right mix of intellect, wit, and ruthless cunning that seems to appeal to fans.

Like Wrex or HK-42.

Well, at least Meer's robotic flat tone will make sense now that Shep is part cyborg.

It just always sounded like Meer was a first year sports reporter that was so intent on reading the lines themselves that he forgot to actually infuse some tone variation into his voice.  I imagine if he has kids that they fall asleep faster than any child alive when he reads bedtime stories to them

And he sings.
I've heard rumors that his side quest is helping to audition for Les Miz.

Meh, its like trying to argue with a wall. My original point, which you so conviently ignore time and again was that you're stating your opinion as fact and then calling someone else a troll.

Meh go away.

You do realize that the voice Meer uses in Mass Effect is not his normal speaking voice, after hearing him on a podcast he is actually quite amusing and even admits that was his first major lead voice acting gig. He was originally hired to get the general speech patterns of the aliens down.

Man, Legion, Garrus and Ashley in this video... Now we need to see Kaiden and Liara, for reals.

Also, I hope Mordin doesn't start singing after I kill a bunch of Collector's who manage to ambush me at the SR2 around a campfire... Or the galaxy map. (DA:O). I'm thinking as an in-joke, Mordin will either sing very SLOW, and surprise everyone, or really fast, sounding ridiculous.

Yea, finding out the real deal with Legion is what I'm looking forward to most in ME2.

That and romancing SuZe.

Does anyone know who is voicing Thane? I know it's not Sutherland, but that's who it sounds like to me. His speaking part toward the end there (along with the cinematic) is very well done, harrowing even.

I listened to that interview and when he's adlibbing ya, he sounds fine, but when he needs to read text, here comes the monotone, lol

Back on topic, I'm looking forward to SuZe more than anyone now after watching that vid, I'm thinking more and more that she's gonna be my no.1 go to gal for missions.:D
