Why is Sarah (Ashely's sister) praised for beating up (very loose use, she helped him get fixed up and it wasn't really a fight) her ex? Is it because she's a girl? Kinda weird for FemShep to be saying that. Is it because she actually used Aikido the way it's supposed to be used? That's like being astonished at Mayweather counter punching, except against someone who hasn't stepped in the ring in their entire life.

It just shows that the Williams girls all know to look out for themselves and that Ash respects and loves her little sister. Not overtly interesting, but it tells a few things.

Its a story that is there to illustrate that the Williams sisters know how to handle themselves. Basically it is a bit of character development that shows Ashley to be proud of the fact the Williams girls are no damsels in distress. The story might have been about Ashley's sister, but its there to establish who Ashley is as a character.
