I'd love to get hair like this in Mass Effect 4

As for why the person hasn't released this mod to the rest of the fandom (there are possible reasons given in the comments)

It would be amazing if they added more customizable options in the game to make your character look good. It always seems the default shepard looks the best, some other shepards have turned out great but honestly no one can really get theirs to looks like a real person.

I really like to see curly as an option myself, and the example in the OP looks quite nice indeed!

Well since apparently the protagonist won't be a soldier in the next game, this should allow for less strict military regulations on how (females) can wear their hair to begin with, with hopefully more long hairstyles as a result, and maybe some nice curly ones as well.

I'm eager to see how Frostbyte 3 will handle hairphysics too. I don't expect TressFX, but anything will be better than Mass Effect's no-hair-physics-at-all...

Fixed it for you.

Seriously, I routinely spend hours in character builders, and I still can't get something I like out of that thing. It's like a 404 error in my brain whenever I try.

either add more customization or at least go the bethesda route and give players the creation kit option to make their own content.

It's like Bioware shoots themselves in the foot, not only could they make money of such and idea, but they also allow the community to make their own fun with them being able to focus more on the primary downloadable content that is more story focused instead of having to force some kind of DLC to have a few fan service moments.

Oh wow I thought I was the only one who dreaded the "customize character" screen. Yup, that above about sums up my experience with the thing.

I think hair options have to do with maintaining a decent appearance despite variations in head dimensions. There is also the factor of putting in hair movement, bounce, etc. If Shepard were to be leaping in a cut scene it may look odd that she had this nice curly hair that is as motionless as a helmet. On the current hairstyles it is ok as they are kind of helmeted, but on full curly hair not so much. The hair options seem to be designed around what is feasibly plausible for an active combat soldier. I could be wrong.

no you two are not the only ones *sighs* - i love to create a custom character (i really do - as i don't want to play someone that looks like million other the character millions of others use), but i have difficulty to get them to look like a real live human being (i always get something wrong and i only see that after being done with character creation (seeing the character in-game or in a video-sequence)...:(

as for curly hair? - yes, please

but: only if male character get good looking new styles, too (i hate that men are always the ones organizations like the military are prejudiced against (at least in the looks department) as they are not allowed long hair for example (that's one reason why i will never joind a military force, even though i like the military (well not the one of my home country of germany, as i am sure they are not ready for combat and couldn't hold their own in a larger fight IMHO) - because i have long hair))

greetings LAX
ps: and they are biased against people with glasses, too (can't become a fighter pilot with them for example and even if you only wanted to fly say a helicopter, they still prefer people without glasses and they have height restrictions (not that i would be to small here...lucky me...))

Those hairstyles seem pretty silly for someone who works with a helmet on.

Why not Long Hair and Pony Tails, different types? When I play Female I like having Ponytails, Long Air. In The Next Mass Effect, I did rather play different species than Human again, I'm sure we will be able too.

No - it tells of something quite different.  It means that regular people can do better than Bioware - at both writing, as well as modding.

I'm quite sure the fans could do a better game than the company if we had the tools at our disposal (and a lot of cash, of course).

'Regular' people make the world go 'round.

You would need a stylist to fix yourhair every time you take of your helmet.
ME4: added squad member, stylist! He/she will make you look good on and of the battlefield while people are trying to kill you, allowing you to kill them while looking like a moviestar walking the red carpet to collect your Oscar!

Speaking of MShep I've seen YT vids where the game was modded to give him one of FemShep's hairstyles
