I really like the work Deager has put in to this mod so far, and since I finally have a computer that can handle games again after a loooong gaming hiatus I am about to finish ME2 for the fifth time and enter into ME3 for my second time, boosted by MEHEM and CEM. The idea to play ME3 without MEHEM is inconceivable to me, and CEM seems like a perfect way to round up the MAss Effect saga, and even though I haven't played the actual citadel DLC yet, I have Heard many good thins about it. However, as I have already started installing ME3 on my latest computer, I encountered somewhat of a problem when using the latest version of CEM that didn't seem to be present when using the version just Before it.

 

As I saw there was a new version just uploaded of CEM so I implemented that onto my version of ME3 after uninstallng and reinstalling Everything. Since I use a hair mod since I hate the hair in the character editor, I noticed when I updated the Tocbin that not only was the relevant Biogame file affected, but my coalesced.bin as well. Also, I noticed that the genesis DLC wasn't triggered as it had been when I used the previous version of CEM. I made sure it was CEM that did this, as I started the game after installing MEHEM but Before installing CEM.

 

I tried again by uninstalling, reinstalling and reverting to the previous version of CEM and then it worked as normal. I wonder if I should just use the old version. What exactly is different between the versions, I Think I saw something about a Traynor scene being improved and I assume some of the dialogue is more smooth in terms of the mod being compatible with the overall continuity of the game. On the other hand maybe the latest version stops being beta soon enough.

That is really strange to me. CEM never touched the coalesced.bin at all. You should be able to get your mod in there, run the tocbin updater as needed, and then install CEM Full vC after the fact. Maybe that order of events will work? Really odd as I can't even imagine what would be happening.

 

As far as the differences, it's more than just one scene. That Kapesh-Yakshi scene is what got me started but it's more lines improved/cleaned up, you can't leave the Silversun Strip by accident with CEM Full, no talk of refugees at all during the casino party or from Glyph introducing it, embedded textures so no Sanctuary ads...probably some other stuff. It's a pretty comprehensive overhaul. Basically, I'd like to get CEM Full vC working for you.

 

So, basically, if you can have the game at a stable state, with MEHEM and your hair mod and such, then install CEM Full vC and the MEHEM to CEM transition and don't do any more me3explorer stuff. Does that work?

Hey, do share please. You were using version C of CEM Full right? I love to know the bad lines. It's true that I can't always fix them but maybe you've come across something I missed or hadn't thought through enough.

From the little clips you've shared elsewhere, you've pretty much cleared up any issues that I noticed. I'm looking forward to playing them myself.

Thanks for the response, but I know that it is the CEM full version C installer that Changes the Coalesced, I tried playing the game after only installing MEHEM and then after installing CEM as well, Before the transition mod and any hair- or texture mods. The Genesis DLC does not boot at all.

 

I wonder if I could backup my original Coalesced file, and after installing CEM full vC I could paste it back?

after installing MEHEM 5, cem, 220 different texture mods, and the extended Anderson convo mod and quickly testing the refugee camp i can gladly say everything is working smoothly. just need the galaxy map mod 0.5 to release and then i am good to go for my new 'canon' playthrough. this also involves accepting the epic fanfic "a matter of race and character" as canon: https://www.fanficti...e-And-Character. this play through will be recorded as well so viewers will be urged to read it to gain a better understanding of my perceptions of Kenneth Donnelly and his background. also to note. cem full was used. #cemfullmasterrace4lyfe

Well, I hope you enjoy it. I don't feel like a hero or anything but it's fun to hear that people like what I did. It's a very low percentage of ME3 players who actually have even downloaded CEM but for those of you who know what I did...enjoy. :D

i didin't seem to have the issue that luddwise had. may of been a glitch with the TOC bin.

Yeah, we're getting close to a solution I think. Running the TOCbin updater seems to mess stuff up. But, there's no reason to run the TOCbin updater for CEM or MEHEMv0.5 or any "mod as DLC" so we may be close to a solution. For example, I actually run all my mods through a custom made "DLC_EXP_MODS" folder I made so my PCConsoleTOC.bin is still dated waaaay before the year 2014. Not sure why it's January, 2013 though. Weird.

I'm not even sure it is that big of an issue. The only effect I actually see in my game is that when installing CEM full version C the genesis DLC does not trigger. I would really like to use an imported ME3 save so that I could check if the ending and transition actually work. I got a message from a captain at the SSV Nurenberg so MEHEM seems to work as it should, and I can initialize both Leviathan and from Ashes without a problem so there shouldn't be any other problems. I just need to get my hands on a ME3 save that I guess is just at the end Before the final push to the crucible to truly see if tehre is any problem.

 

Edit: Also, like I PM:ed, the issue is not the TOCbin, as even Before I use that the CEM installer has altered my coalesced and genesis fails to initialize.

yea the rate of users does seem to be disproportionately low. but for the elite few of us who do use it we have a metric fuckton of fun with it. i'll probably get part 1 of my playthrough out by next week, ME1 will of course be running MEUTIM.

i canna picture myself running without it. the default textures just seem too half arsed. now if only they added autofixing to the new revs of me3 explorer i could make texmod entirely redundant for modding ME2.

So I just ended my playthrough using MEHEM and CEM Full (with the MEHEM to CEM mod). And it was just great. I played the Citadel DLC once before, but it certainly feels better placed at the end of the story. Combined with the powerful ending from MEHEM, it's really great to see the crew come together one "last" time. I highly recommend this mod for everyone who is a fan of a happy and satisfying ending. After the kind of mediocre ending ME 3 itself delievers, these mods really encouraged me to play ME 3 another (and now maybe the last) time. One suggestion though: You should really include the credits of this mod, no need for being modest! 

 

Unfortunately, I had some trouble using this mod and the texture mods I mentioned above. So I can't really say if your mod caused the problem, MEHEM or the texutre mods. The following issues occured during my playthrough:

 

  • Stuck in loading screen bug when trying to enter the Purgatory Bar and Miranda's "apartment" on the citadel (where you meet her before Sanctuary). Even after a complete reinstall and no mods installed, I couldn't access these areas. Found no fix in any way.
  • Stuck in loading screen bug before beginning "Priority:Earth". I was able to workaround the problem by reinstalling the game. After I landed, I installed everything again and it worked.
  • I had another problem with an infinite loading screen I don't completely recall, but I played through the Epilogue (the modified Citadel DLC) without high-res textures. I didn't installed them again because I thought the problem could occur again and I wasn't sure if I could simply reload a save from your mod after deinstalling everything again.

 

 

 

So pretty annoying that I couldn't enter these two areas. Purgatory wasn't to bad, as I didn't want to do the dirty work for Aria and it's possible to bring EDI and Joker together before and also "harden" Cortez. But it was not so nice that I couldn't save Miranda because of this bug. But altogether, I really enjoyed your mod.  I also had no problems with the edited lines and advertisements, they fit quite well and I didn't run over "strange" lines.

Glad to hear the mod was overall a success but not happy to hear about texture problems which may relate to infinite load screens and the inability to access areas. The really weird bit would be CEM Full causing any conditional problems. The only one active during the main game is the delay of delivery of the email from Hackett. None of the other conditional stuff can even trigger. MEHEM has some emails that come through but nothing I've heard of before causing problems.

 

Now, could textures be the root of it all? I suppose. We have heard of some problems with textures for some people. We're on rev697 now but I'm still not sure if all texture stuff has been resolved. I'll see what I can find out on the me3explorer forums for ideas that might help.

 

EDIT: Also, to confirm, it's these 3 texture mods only or I'm guessing you had a ton installed?

ME 3 Character Texture Overhaul, Tali Full Face Mod and HR Garrus Alternate Armor.

 

Any chance you can send me a full list (or if you already did, just link me back to what I'm missing.) And, were you able to use the repaired ones from here? Not all textures are there of course, but it's worth checking.

What a very cool idea, Deager, thank you for conceptualizing and building it!

 

This is my first post in 3 years, honestly I never thought I'd come back to examine anything ME related again after I played the EC for 3. The EC was okay, but I stopped everything ME after that. Not out of any revolt or anything political, I was simply done with the franchise. But, and it's funny you're talking about MEUTIM above, I decided to play ME1 a few weeks ago after hearing/reading about MEUTIM. Yep, I'm hooked again.

 

What fun, I'm playing the game again after a few years not touching it, and taking it very slowly, in small doses. It's a really neat replay experience for me. 

 

So I'm a guy who hasn't played any of the 3's DLC and hasn't played 3 at all either since the EC release. Assuming I get to 3 in the next month or two, I'd really like to buy Citadel and play it with the JAM mod + your mod. I think it would be a neat experience to play the modded version before playing the vanilla take. 

 

I've been reading up, a little, on Warranty Voider's (et al) tools. I produce animation and film content and my team is looking into using UE4 for some upcoming projects so I'm interested in learning more about how ME3Explorer works as well. Again, this is all new to me but it's inspiring to see so many creative people in the community make some really interesting takes on such a cool property from BW.

If there is, could you tell how to install those? I'm kind of planning a new playthrough and show it through Twitch or something and the same would happen to ME2 and 3, with CEM and MEHEM installed :)

MEUITM is the bomb! I can't play ME1 without it. Great installer made by the creator, super easy to use.

For me to properly enjoy this I think there needs to be a MEHEM light version where the Citadel/Relays are not shown as being destroyed. The high EMS Control ending has this so if someone were to take those scenes and re-colour them from blue to red or yellow that would result in the perfect ending for me.

 

What would be ideal in-fact would be if after the ending Shepard wakes up in Hurta Memorial hospital and is able to return to the Normandy to trigger the memorial sequence, possibly with Hacket attending. Following the memorial sequence the Citadel DLC content becomes available.

In fact; tthe thing that would make most sense story wise would be replacing Priority: The Citadel II with the main story mission from the Citadel DLC and then having the Citadel go un-damaged throughout the game until Epilogue; thus reflecting the impact of the Reapers seizing the station, but without having most people be dead.
But that would be a huge effort...

Well if it showed only the Charon-relay being damaged and neglected to mention the others that would be enough. That would only mean removing one small part of Hackett's VO, right? It's made pretty clear that the Citadel races aren't experts in building relays so the idea that they could fix them all quickly is pretty far fetched.

Not disagreeing with you on this one. Like you mentioned, it would be a fairly big undertaking to handle it properly. At least, that's how these things seem to go. Change one thing, then something else, on and on.

 

If I can catch my breath at some point and want to do it...maybe I'll look into it. But no promises. I started modding back in July of 2013 and it's...tiring. Of course, plenty of others have been at this much longer than me. :)

Those textures are already formatted properly for texplorer. Can make a difference for installing them properly. Still, the issue could revolve around inconsistent texture installation at this time. It's not that they're not trying, it's just really difficult to nail down what's happening.

 

EDIT: I just read a post that indicates various texplorer things are fixed in rev698. Not sure if they'll apply in this situation but I'd give that a go.
