Thanks Kunari801. It might be possible to have it automatically load straight from the end of MEHEM into the apartment but it's going to be something MrFob will do as I'm just not capable.

As for MEHEM v0.4...yeah, it's nice isn't it? Now go enjoy your time with your squadmates on the Silvesun Strip or that party you're going to throw. :)

Nice, I've got it downloaded but haven't started my new PT yet.

First, thank you for doing this. Citadel DLC is my favorite because it was just plain fun but it always irked me that we were supposed to take time off in the middle of a Galactic, end-of-civilization-as-we-know-it war. Can't wait to play it as an epilogue!

However, I have a question about this. When I've played in the past, there are several scenes for various ME2 squadmates that didn't show up immediately. For me, they appeared after leaving the strip and doing other things (fetch missions, other full missions, etc.). For instance, Grunt's scene has never shown up for me right away; I got an email about it later on the Normandy. Probably me just being impatient and continuing the game rather than hanging out extensively on the strip.

So, my question is will ALL of the meetings with various squadmates, old and new, show up in the mod? Do I just have to hang around long enough for all of them to come through or is there something else that needs to be done to trigger them?

Also, I know I'm 4 months late commenting on this (just found the thread/mod) but regarding the fancy dress question from up thread--I think BW assumed that people were changing their Shepard's into their dress clothes to go to the Sushi place. I know I changed both of mine for it. And, with my Femshep, when Garrus comments on how nice she looks, it was definitely in a suggestive manner, not a humorous or teasing one (in light of the wet look).

Anyway, off to start another series playthrough with the new mods.

To make all the meetings show up properly, ideally, make a save after the mission Priority: Horizon is done. Just place the Normandy outside of the Citadel in space and save. When the game is over, load up that save and start the Citadel DLC.

Hopefully some day the end of the game, whether MEHEM or the Extended Cut, will dump straight into the apartment. Not sure if it's possible though so loading up a save you make is the only way now.

This installer doesn't like that I've modded the Citadel DLC with my EDI head mod. I've tried everything, running the DLC TOC updater, rebuilding the Default.sfar, and the installer refuses to work telling me the Citadel Default.sfar is the wrong size.

HelixSprial got it right I see. I wasn't thinking about the installer and was thinking manual.

When using the nstaller it confirms the size of the of the Default.sfar and if it's no the default size, the installer aborts. Install MEHEM and CEM first and then install your mod files. That should get the job done.

Just a quick message to say thank you to Deager (and others that helped) for taking the time to create this mod. The trilogy with MEHEM installed is great, but this is the icing on the cake. Cheers.

Thanks for letting me know. Icing on the cake is how I view it too.

I just finished the ME2 suicide mission this evening and I'm walking around the ship to chat with everyone. That's what CEM is to me; just a lot of time to spend with the squad before the final curtain falls.

Ha, I also always like the post ending stuff in ME2. That's why I like Arrival. While the DLC as such may not be super great, I do enjoy it a lot as an epilogue to ME2 and bridge to ME3. Also, I always keep a few N7 missions until after the SM, so that I can finish all the conversations with Legion.
Looking forward to my next series playthrough (probably in around April) and finally testing CEM.

Just recently found this mod and agree with the general consensus that the nature of this dlc fits as an epilogue. I am keen to try this mod but I face a dilemma. I have only recently bought the citadel dlc and have yet to play it. I only have enough time for one trilogy play through( with mehem) and I plan for this pt to be my ideal Shepard. The dilemma I now run is should I use this mod given the fact that I have yet to play the vanilla version or should I use the nodded version and disregard vanilla? One side of me doesn't want to miss out on the intended experience but the other side is really keen on the mod coz the premise of it sounds absolutely amazing. Sorry for the wall of text but I'd greatly appreciate it if someone could give me their thoughts?

I'm always a fan of people enjoying a story as the creators initially intended. The oddball thing with Citadel DLC is summed up well here. Maybe try this.

Don't start the Citadel DLC until after Priority:Horizon is complete. Make a save there and play the DLC before the end of the game without the mod. Enjoy your ideal Shepard. Then, for fun, you could fire it up with CEM installed and see what you think at that point.

However, if you're the type of person who finished ME2 and loved walking around and talking with your squad about the victory....shoot. Then you might want to use CEM on this play through.

Hey! I tried to install the lite version a time back, but it failed due to different file sizes. When i today played the citadel dlc the soundtracks at the goodbye part where changed anyway. How do i fix it? i tried to replace the default.sfar files with a backup one in the DLC_EXP_Pack003, but the suicide mission track is still there. i liked the original track(s) more.
What files did you change? :)

@ChroptusThe file which changed the music for the ending of the Citadel DLC is DLC_EXP_Pack003_SFX.afc. However, if you replaced the Default.sfar within the DLC_EXP_Pack003 folder with a backed up version, then it shouldn't be possible to hear a different song during the Citadel DLC end.
You're probably left with needing to do a repair install of the Citadel DLC through Origin to get everything back to normal.
If you did want to try the mod but could never get the lite version installed, then the manual installation will work. The bonus of the manual installation is that you could use the mod but simply don't replace the DLC_EXP_Pack003_SFX.afc file. That file only changes the ending music for the Citadel DLC and nothing else so you can simply skip it.

No problem. I just read your post over on the MEHEM thread too. In theory, it's not possible what just happened, but obviously something strange occurred. Let me know what happens.

If I haven't said it already, this and MEHEM are standard parts of my ME3 installation now.

@BDelacroix

Thanks. I went back in the thread and I think you were using this mod right off the bat with the Citadel DLC. You had agreed that the end of the game seemed like the place where it fit. Interestingly, while doing some more edits for....oh right, yeah, sorry folks. I will release another version with more lines put back in and a little fix here and there.

Anyway, back to the point. Here's what I posted on my tumblr. Now I'm really convinced the Citadel DLC is the way to end the game. Not the story, but the game. With CEM people can do both.

This is the actual text describing the goodbye scene of the Citadel DLC found within the BioD_CitCas_530Goodbye_LOC_INT.pcc file.

This is the final scene of the DLC, and the last scene of the Mass Effect trilogy forever. This is the “big goodbye” to the fans, letting them know we’re moving on after this, Shepard’s story is officially done with this scene.

In the scene, Shepard is standing outside the Normandy at the docking station. His entire crew is with him, all looking at their famous ship — the place they’ve called home. It’s a warm scene, full of nostalgia. This will one day be considered “the good old days”. Shepard has a moment with his/her love interest, reflecting on good times, before everyone else peels off and boards the Normandy…except Shepard, who lingers a moment for the one last line of dialogue that he/she will ever utter in the game.

As I posted my MEHEM post in its thread, doing same here for CEM. This just reinforces what you mentioned but still feel saying it. The tone of the DLC before CEM was pretty detached from the main story, but now when playing it post main campaign, the difference is even more striking. I feel character wise, after Reapers, there's really nothing to match Shepard anymore after them, so the clone part makes more sense now than it did during the Reaper war. The identity theft attempt feels more personal threat to Shepard. Against the Reaper invasion it felt rather minor threat. Post war it would've worked for clone much better to live on Shepard's fame and such, without needing to expose identity as much as it would've been questioned during war.

Removed war references and certain mails and lines changed to past tense help with post war immersion. Few lines caused minor fractures but generally can be dismissed or explained in head why they're like that. I can easily see Citadel above Earth like EC shows, easy to dismiss the transitory loading from outside the Citadel into apartments as it is now. As for Citadel being functioning and intact, takes place at least 6 months or year after war, and Citadel has repaired itself rather quickly despite the damage. As for the parts about being on shore leave, can imagine it just a post war clean up duty. Shepard doing some peacekeeping etc. and then having this final incident and subsequent party before retiring. CItadel DLC really does now work as intended. Previously it felt being in its own space time continuum, but now has found its proper place. Excellent work Deager, CEM made the conclusion most satisfactory.

@Saake

I'm going to do one more release to clean up the little things I missed and to improve the audio quality of some lines; specifically some during the goodbye scene.

Because there are thousands of lines and emails to go through, would you be willing to share what you noticed as a "few lines caused minor fractures?" Feel free to PM them to me as well. The idea with this mod has always been to make it as good as it can be, and since this is probably the last hurrah, I want it as polished as it can be.

Thanks,

Deager
