Still amazing how many people won`t eat this because it is raw.
Isn't that the truth? I can understand allergies, but passing up on this dericious food because it's not prepared how you're used to is making a mistake haha
Seriously; If I wasn't a poor college kid, I'd have Sushi at least 7 times a month

Also +1 to eel. Tastes delicious BBQ'ed too!
Also surprised no lock yet :/ I guess fish is multiplayer related.

It has nothing to do with how I'm "used to" it has everything to do with fish being gross. The only good part of sushi is the seaweed and rice.
at least you like the seaweed part lol
Also, well moar fish for me then

You need to find better salmon. Or a better itamae who doesn't waste so much time that the fish becomes warm.megabeast37215 wrote...

Best sashimi IMO is tsubugai (sea snail).

Any fish that swims in fresh water for any part of its life is gross. There are some acceptable brackish water fish (striped sea bass for example) but fish that live exclusively in the ocean are far superior table fare. My favorite sushi is eel and soft shell crab.

Unagi is the universal sushi that everyone likes, yes. Yellowtail by contrast is only ever popular in Japan. Even the rest of the Asians (such as myself) ignore it.

Fresh salmon tastes like fish oil. But if you let it warm up and rest in open air for a while it starts to taste like mud because the oils get oxidized into acids.

Which kind of asian are you? Just curious
And what are your three favorite types of sushi?
This thread has had my mouth watering for about the past hour now <_< but it's nearly 4 A.M. here

I have often wondered what real wasabi tastes like... Not that pungent green paste put on the plate here in the U.S... The stuff that is grated on the sharkskin grater. Ever had it?
