There can be only one! Trying to save the clone doesn't make sense imo.

So what? Would you kill your twin too? What's the difference? Where do you draw the line? Why should you get to decide? Unless he is posing a imminent threat (Maya's suspicious omnitool glowyness) it's a matter for the courts to decide.

Brooks always gets shot by Shepard (didn't know squaddies could do it until recently). Shepard sometimes tries to save the clone, who has been manipulated from the first waking day.

Han Gerrel always gets a punch to the gut.

Petrovski always gets shot.

And Balak always gets shot in ME1.

My Shepard didn't need to kill the clone and talked Brooks out of trying anything funny.  Then again, I admit to roleplaying a lot of my personal convictions into my character.

The respective decisions are being presented in situations where both of them are clearly defeated and pose no imidiate threat to speak of. Killing defenseless individuals solely for revenge, butthurtness or (the most dangerous notion of them all) preventatively, is just sick in my opinion.

Garrus.

I wanted to let her go and catch her again because it'd be more fun. But Garrus had to spoil it.

In this case, the renegade dialogue in the last convo with Brooks is what I considered to be closest to what I would say to such a character. If she had some gizmo that allowed her to break loose, it's up to that character what happens next. I didn't know she'd cut free and run in the same room the armory is located, so if a dangerous character tries to make a break for it, I have no reason to consider that character defenseless. Oleg, on the other hand, was completely cooperative no matter what Shepard said, so he lived in my canon playthrough and she didn't.

I actually never tried what happens if I didn't "encourage her" to do the right thing, so I don't know.
But if she were to break free and run, that's not exactly what passes as "no immidiate threat" even in my book. I would feel inclined to at least cool her down in the same way Garrus contemplated doing with Fade.

Nope. Would have invited her to the party if I could. Give her the ol' Shep rehab.

Shepard does.

Kind of a shame you can't shoot her in the head though.

Gah, my infiltrator Shep head-shotted her so many times during the fight there's no way any amount of medi-gel would revive her. But....cutscene....she's alive! Yeah, Shep shot her in the back when she was dumb enough to try to escape. Posted Image

It had to be Shepard. Someone else might've gotten it wrong.

You're wrong. Brooks ended up suffering through a comedic tale of life in a women's detention facility. Orange is the New Black.....in space.

I didn't even know a squad-mate could kill Brooks. You learn something new every day.

I always try to save the clone and encourage Brooks to do the right thing. The clone because I kinda feel bad for the poor guy, and brooks because either she goes to lockup or gets killed trying to escape. I prefer not to kill when there is another option. Plus....I don't want to dirty my ship up any more than it already is.

She dies. I would've killed her in the sushi bar just to shut her up. Not to mention I knew she was the setup when we first meet. That much was obvious.

Until this thread, I was unaware a squaddie could shoot her. Last night I was playing my Talimancer campaign and Tali shot Brooks as she attempted to escape after I ignored the paragon interrupt to save her.

1. Shepard is above the law: Spectre justice.
2. Illegal clones, especially ones that commit terrorist attacks on the Citadel have no rights.
