Well, since the TSol has marksman; many people use the opportunity to use weapons such as Revanant, Hurricane and Eagle (to name but a few) since they have inherrently high recoil and Marksman compensates for this without the need to use any stability mods (you can therefore use up the mods slots for other things like maximising weapon damage with the use of an extended barrel).
Generally it's good to add ammo types to your weapons; Disrupter rounds would be more effective against geth (they have a particular weakness to tech, but really biotics work just as well) while warp rounds would be more effective against, say, Reapers.
However, I see what you mean about your question. I find that weapons such as the Collector assault rifle and CSMG are more effective against organic enemies than geth (don't ask me why since I don't claim to be an expert - it's just what I've observed when using them).

I found if I promoted enough and my N7 grew, the chances of being sync killed, especially primes and having to do hand to hand combat with Mauders for extended periods of time have decreased, experiencing higher numbers of boss enemies in waves that shouldn't be there according to my friends has also been corrected.
