Just don't play LotSB. I'm not sure what the appeal is anyways (for non Liara fans). Unless you need some leveling done.

I think it's pretty fun in general, and has my 2nd favorite boss fight in the series. And not Shadow Broker himself. That may be 3rd.

I do like the combat, and I originally bought it out of my "completionist" tendencies.. but now I just avoid it. It's more of a niche story to me, for Liara fans.

As someone whose favourite characters are Liara and Tali, this conversation is hilarious to me.

It sure feels good to not hate anyone, fellas.

And why is a Tali fan knocking Liara? Don't they hear enough distorted views on their favorite to be doing the same? Tali and Liara are both good characters and loving one does not mean you have to hate on the other.

I don't get character hate, either. It's almost like hating a pro wrestler because he uses brass knux when the ref isn't looking.

I fully agree. Easy for me as they are my preferred LI's; Tali for manshep and Liara for femshep. I don't know why some people have to bash other peoples choice of LI.

I knock Talimancers and Mirandamancers a lot because they tend to get creepy and obsessive about their favorite LI.

It also really doesn't help that they always - always, without fail! - bring up their LI or something related to their LI in every damn thread they post in, regardless of the actual thread subject.

It shouldn't be taken seriously. Even my 'Quarian Master Race' talk is pretty tongue-in-cheek.

Tell me, when have I brought Miranda up where she was not relevent?

I can see your point, some people can get very obessive about their LIs. I try not to take it our too much on them as they are likely using it as a substitute for a real relationship. My girlfriend was watching me during a femshep/Liara scene and her eyebrow was raised and arms crossed the whole time.

What? Hating certain pro wrestlers was one of the best parts of my childhood.

I've grown up of course, but it's still fun in a way. Nothing wrong with hate.

Im going to go with the "something more damaged with the player than the character(s)" excuse when hate gets as "passionate" and repetitive as it does on these here forums. imo, anyways.

No, it's just fun to bring up Tali all the time. Some people get pretty mad as soon, as they hear anything about Tali.

Yeah, I'm calling BS on that. Hellbird is sure one to talk. He's an Asari apologist who's just out to hate because he doesn't like other people's headcanon.

I hate characters, not because of their fans, but because I legitimately do not like the character.

Considering that the Alliance keeps illegal experiments secret themselves they can't really expect other governments not to do the same.

I don't understand the notion that anything bad done by an alien government means the entire species is bad and must pay for it (see: The quarians creating the geth, the salarians and turians and the genophage, the asari and the beacon) while the same people condemning it will always - unflinchingly - defend Cerberus for assassinations, illegal experiments and mass murder of humans, claiming that Cerberus does it "for the good of humanity".

Cerberus freely admits to their methods and goals, furthermore they are not a government with official standing.  The asari government hid prothean tech for their own benefit, a war crime in Council law, and only exposed it to save themselves.

They also refused to help the war effort until they were personally endangered.

Yeah, that's how I feel. I recently came out of a relationship. Personally I don't subsitute my LI for a real relationship(though it doesn't help that the only LI you get to spend much time with is Liara) but I would sympathise with people that do. It probably isn't healthy, but sometimes people get lonely and they need something to feel in that space, an outlet. Hey, at least you don't have to make much of a commitment.

But I don't see what good it does to be knocking them down so much, unless they're really obsessive. Like, joking about Tali being your future wife every now and then just seems kinda cute and light hearted, and clearly most people wouldn't be serious about that unless they had a real issue.

The Systems Alliance conducted illegal AI research and set up a secret facility with the express purpose to destroy a Mass Relay, in an act that would kill 300.000 innocent people. Not Cerberus. The Alliance.

Given the choices Shepard can make - such as not saving the Council by holding the Fifth Fleet at Arcturus and telling Anderson that the Alliance should take the Eden Prime Beacon for themselves - humanity is certainly no better than the asari when it comes to being self-serving when necessary.

Destroying a mass relay to save the galaxy.  Leaving out that little part.

I never said humanity was better, but the asari hoarded prothean tech, and charge others who do with war crimes... Fair?

And the asari kept the Prothean beacon hidden so that the most peaceful and neutral species on the Council would have a technological advantage that would permit them to keep the galaxy united as a collection of separate but equal states rather than a single empire (ala the Protheans).

As I've brought up before, the asari could probably rule the entire galaxy with a biotic fist if they wanted to - the whole point is that they don't, and strive for peaceful coexistence. That's the whole point of Liara's arguments with Javik!

I don't recall where it's stated that hoarding Prothean tech is a war crime. A crime, yes - but 'war crime' is very different from 'crime'.
