So you think it is ok that Liara gets all this focus and attention, while the ME2 non-dextro romances twist in the wind?

Yes. I'd rather have one or two well-developed romances getting a lot of focus than several less-developed and mediocre ones (like pretty much all of the ME2 ones...). While it would be nice for all romances to have a lot of content, it's just not feasible for the game.

I'm just lucky Liara is my favorite, really.

So now we have reached the point "ALL I WANT IS CONTENT FOR MA WAIFU ALL YOU OTHERS CAN SUFFER FOR NOT PICKING HER"

Especially sincemuh waifu already has the most content. She must be the most popular, therefore she must be the best and deserves the most.

You know, I kind of remember that in the Original Ending, Shepard always thought of Liara, regardless of who you romanced. She was always the final image for a Shepard unless you romanced Kaidan or Ashley (and I've heard that depending on the ending you picked, you still got an image of Liara).

Or how Matriarch Aethyta always commented on Shepard and Liara being together in a relationship. I honestly wish the Asari government organized a hit on Liara.

Tell me that isn't forced. I dare you.

You already know the argument.  "Bugs/Glitches"

<_<

Sounds so contrived, doesn't it?

The Aethyta thing is a bug.  There is an appropriate non-romance line, but it didn't seem to fire for some people. But I think they have fixed it.

The flashbacks were a bug in the first place as well, they always did intend to have all LIs have their flashbacks (it was even stated that  there was a bug or glitch in the cinematics before the game came out).

LOL.

Would you be in the same boat, if say... the "focused" ones were Jacob and Ashley only, for example?  It just wouldn't be feasible for the game, right?

Mind you, I would also rather have quality over quantity in romances, yet somehow, ME2 delievered the quality regardless of the quantity and I don't blame Liara as a character mind you, I just feel that Bioware shot themselves in the foot with what they set up in ME3.

Bioware shot themselves in the foot regarding a lot of things in ME3. And very good question there.

Convenient that all the "bugs" favor a Liara romance....

They would have to add a lot to make Jacob and Ashley's romances interesting, but yes. It really isn't that big of a deal.

I've already kind of been in that 'boat' playing my Trooper in Star Wars TOR, where the LI for male characters is a cute, but somewhat boring, submissive soldier, and a secondary LI featured in a few class quests caught my fancy with her strength, charm and confident demeanour.

While I prefer the latter, and felt some disappointment that she was not available as a "main" LI, it's not worth getting worked up about. It's just resource allocation, and sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't.

It's only fixed depending on what dialogue options you take, some of which are completely unrelated to Liara's romance. For example, one of the questions/options on Mars actually affects what Aethyta says.

The flashbacks were a bug in the first place as well, they always did intend to have all LIs have their flashbacks (it was even stated that  there was a bug or glitch in the cinematics before the game came out).

Source?

I completely doubt this considering none of the LI flashbacks were in the game files. At all. That's a lot more than just a bug or a glitch.

Anyway...

Well it is the default. You can't really blame Bioware for that. You can blame them for being lazy though.

Liara is default, since when?  My mind is blown.

I agree for someone like Jacob, he had such a small fanbase resources were better spent elsewhere, but Thane had a fairly large fanbase for his romance.  And in vanilla other sizable romances such as Jack and Miranda got shafted

Tell me, would you be saying the same thing if it was Jack, or Miranda who got the most content?

This thread would be even worse if she was default.

There's bias. Not default.

Thats you.

I don't like that an LI throws herself at your character after two games of telling her your not interested and have another LI as well.

If you take 'default' to literally mean 'Default no-import Shepard', then I guess that's true, but that's clearly not what was intended.

Remember this?

A non-import Shepard is "default" and non-import did not romance Liara

Yes, I am sure Liara is the most popular love interest because she got a flashback pic (I wonder how many people knew that when they chose her?) and Aethyta makes a comment about the romance (some people get the friendship version). And how do you explain the LotSB bug when the game came out (During your first conversation with Liara in her office, she does not recall your reunion with her in LotSB. Instead, she says that "it has been years" since your romance.) Did the writers try to sabotage my romance?

Clealry has not seen any non-romance playthroughs
