You can say that Bioware is implying you should only play as a Paragon, Male Shepard and Sheploo as well.

Depending where the story goes, LI's can have less or more content if there is a compelling reason for it. I'd find it contrived, and unrealistic check marking to make them all equal. I don't think the romance concept ever intended that.

Nobody here can tell you who your Shepard is. I had four of them, each with a different (headcanon) backstory guiding their actions, and the pieces just fell into place.

Nolan: None-Tali-Tali
Laura: Kaidan-None-Kaidan
Jane: Liara-Garrus-Garrus
Jayne: Ashley-Kelly/Jack/Miranda-None

I agree.  I had, well more than 4 but each was a bit different.

One was Kaidan - none kaidan
one was Kaidan (died on virmire-Thane-died on last mission-no one
One was no one-Garrus-Garrus - didn't finish this ME3.
Stopped playing but I had plenty of options left.
One was Liara -Liara 
One was Ash-no one
One was Ash-died on virmire- Jack - actually one of my favorite LI Shepard was fairly balanced between paragon and renegade.  

so yeh, each one was individual and fit their personality.

That would be the 'normal' Shepard (if we're not allowing the term 'default' on a technicality), yes.

But I don't care about that. I play Blonde FemShep Parafiltrator. That's kind of the thing, innit?

It doesn't matter what is the "norm" or "default", what matters is what you yourself make of the playthrough.

Hence, Liara being the favored LI should really be a non-issue.

I don't like that an LI throws herself at your character after two games of telling her your not interested and have another LI as well.

And she does it repeatedly. 

Hell, I don't even like the fact that I can't kill her off without damning the galaxy. That's why I think there should have been an option to have squadmates die depending on choices you make during the final mission. Each squadmate may possibly die regarding each decision you make. 

My team would be a lot emptier. James and Javik would be my only survivors from ME3. Maybe Kaidan/Ashley.

Exactly. Jaheira, Bastila, Dawn Star, Morrigan...Bioware's always puts more romantic spotlight on at least one (female) character. Yeah, Liara is "the one" in the Mass Effect series.

They put characters at the center of the story and make them great.

Hence Liara, Garrus, and Tali being overwhelmingly the most popular love interests.

Agreed I hated the fact Liara was unkillable till the end of ME3.

It is an issue if other characters could use the same resources to develop their arc and character growth in the right way.  Yet, we end up with issues like Thane (vanilla), where even Bioware admited they dropped the ball and he was even created based off of a romance aspect...

Of course theres not supposed to be a main LI. Thats the point of all the LI options.

I never felt like DA:O was pushing Morrigan while I was romancing Leliana, but if I romanced Morrigan she had more content.  That is ok.

Romancing Miranda, but having Liara butt in every ten minutes is another matter.
