Really Massive?  Huh.  So much for 'a picture is worth a thousand words'.

I do like the idea that anti-enders are some sort of organized effort and not a bunch of people with a similar opinion though. Or did I just miss the day they were handing out membership cards?

No, but we DO hand out oreos and coffee at every meeting.

<blink><blink>  Plain oreos, or those cappucino oreos?  Crap, pro-ender meetings don't serve crap.  And they're lonely......so very very lonely.....<sniff>.

We've even got a pool slide!

I know I said a picture is worth a thousand words, but that offer would be more appealing if you had an actual pool instead of just a picture of one......

Sure, I'm interjecting here, I'm getting involved in the thing I'm complaining about, but this is a first and hopefully if I drill it into people now threads in the future wont go down this same path that many threads have been going down for this past few months. Maybe, if I speak up here, we might actually have threads where people care more about points and less about someone calling them a name on the Internet.

No. We won't. Not unless people come to realize how they're doing on their own, but you cannot seriously expect them to change their attitude simply because you butt in and ask them to. Why do you even bother...?

The only reason I do it is beause I teach for a living.

I loathe misinformation and unecessary bull**** clouding logic. Most of this thread has been that because of the thin veil of "it's my opinion."

Opinons don't mask everything, you know. It only is interpretation of the truth, and often its not even correct. Much of it is conjetured projected through a positivist outlook, that is, surface comments and evidence that is taken as the truth without interpretation. This thread is full of that from everyone at this point.

What points?  His first paragraph

....snippy snip.

Let's see.   That him is a her.

You objected to me responding to something "11 pages back" so apparently I was supposed to wait specifically for you to post and immediately reply to it or I had no right to respond.  And seriously, you expected me to NOT respond after the implication of your post was that I was calling other people garbage?  Not something I could just let lie.  And the point wasn't to start a debate on opinions or anything like that, but to differentiate between opinions on a game and on real people.  It is important to separate the two.

Understand this, through the past several months I have been lucky enough to count among my BSN friends people who agree and disagree with my opinion.  None of those people are garbage.  You were being "that guy" in forming that conclusion and it's just as revolting as people that continue to call those that dislike the endings "haters" but then go on to heap hate on real people.  If you truly respect others' opinions then any discussion of the ME subject on this forum should be ok.  My point is that IT though not my preferred ending is as valid now as it was, with one caveat.  BW put an end stamp on the game, so the validity does fly out the window since it would now have no satisfactory conclusion.  But then for me the game doesn't have one anyway so it's a circle in a circle.

And other theories also have no real bearing on anything and even less obvious substance behind them than IT, but those topics were never shut down.  Some will say it was because IT was just repetitive and people argued and all that.  Wow, never saw that before on the BSN.  In fact, a lot of those other "theory" or "I like this because" threads also feature OPs who repeatedly insult anyone who has a shred of disagreement with their opinion but it's ok because it's not IT.

As to the true topic at hand and not what anyone has turned the thread into, it's likely that somewhere in all of this lies the story BW wanted to tell but couldn't find a way to tell.  That there was so much that pointed to something dream-like or hallucinatory or just off at the end may have been a way to buy them time.  They very likely did intend to continue ME as a kind of mini-series of the further adventures of Shepard.  Omega may have been an idea planned to come after, as well Citadel may have been too.  Leviathan might have been conceived as an explanation for why  the events happened with the Leviathans becoming the new foes.  All of this may have come crashing down when things hit the fan and hit them and EA in the pocketbook.  We may never know.

I respected the original endings, but i really wasn't a fan of them. They all felt too similar..same endings just slightly different with different colors. Now i did appreciate the extended cut endings, because it seemed bioware went out of their way to explain the questions that fans had.

Every dialogue branch response that Shepard choose was long and detailed and informative...of course this was after the uproar, but the extended cut for me was impressively done. And you can have polarizing endings, just as long as they are distinctive from one another..with a bit more variety.

For sake of argument...something like the endings found in Silent Hill 2...where each ending are very different from each other and are based on your actions within the game, which actually holds more weight when you see the endings, even if some endings are less positive than others, they all make sense when you gather all of your actions in the game.

People weren't gonna forget it anyway... it was that good that it didn't need (what I consider) a lackluster ending.

Granted, the EC and CItadel DLC made it much more bearable, but I'll never forget playing until 3 AM and getting trolled by the original ending...
