I'm loving the game so far, but I must have picked the most annoying voice for my Human warrior.  Way too often when I just click a spot to move my character around he yells something like "LET ME GET YOU A LADDER SO YOU CAN GET OFF MY BACK"  (may be slightly different, im at work).  I find it really annoying and breaks the immersion for me.

Does anyone know how to change your voiceset in some file?

I picked the violent voice too and I feel your pain. I haven't seen any options to change voice in the game but maybe there's a config file somewhere to edit.

If you think that's annoying, my character's voiceset randomly changed FROM the violent one to whatever the Default one is in the middle of my game and I cant change it back.

I think i'd rather have the default.

Has anyone experienced other voices have annoying characteristics? If I can't figure out how to change the current voice, it's worth it to me to restart....no way I'm going to listen to my character yell at me for making him do things for over 50-80hrs of game time.... =(

Well, I looked and there is an xml file the documents...characters folder with the voice data on it, something like, SoundSet="ss_pc_mhuman_violent". Not sure if this will allow to change the voice set or not but it looks like something to try.

Awesome, that's a good start. I'll have to play around with it when I get home.

do back up before you do that alright cause it's a one way trip when you start editing.

What causes him to say that? I have same voice set and can't figure out what triggers it.

I'm not sure, it just happens often whenever I give him a movement action with the mouse.  I was walking by a guard the first time it happened and thought the guard was being a smart ****, lol

Personally, I'd make two or more characters, identical in everything except soundset, then I'd open the files up with a hex editor, figure out what I'd need to change in the actual save and make the tweak that way, making a copy first just in case.

EDIT: Ah, other suggestion beats mine, didn't realise the format was like that.

That phrase usually occurs when I'm looting something.

Seems like I every time I open a door or click on a barrel he is shouting that at me. I use WASD to walk around so I can avoid it as much as possible.

I have a feeling the phrase will also be used for any action that doesn't initiate combat or dialog.  I could be wrong, though.

The dwarf violent voice has the same line and it does get annoying really fast :P  At first I thought he was talking to an npc, but then I realized he was breaking the forth wall and talking to me!  That cocky punk!  heh.

Have you all ran into any other voices with annoying characteristics? I'd like to ignore them if I restart my warrior.

Well, editing the XML file didn't work. The just overwrites it when you play it I think, I checked it after palying and it was the same voice as before. Probbaly going to need a save game editor to change it.

*Hoping "Wise" will be far from annoying*

Thanks for trying...I wonder if there's a command console (~) like NWN that can change it.

Who knew that violent characters would be so impolite?

Yeah, I think the XML file is only used for exporting to the social site. In other words, it's a one-way street. The binary/hex editor approach is more likely to work - or wait for the toolset. It might be possible, for example, to add an NPC that you can have a conversation with and each option will set the main character's voice to a different template.

Hah, the voice set should be called 'Obnoxious' not violent. =P

Picked violent, started the game... was waaaay to sarcastic. Restarted right away and jumped to experienced and even though its a little deeper than I wanted it's a better match than violent.

I found a way to enable console, but so far no luck finding a way to change voice types. I'm just going to restart.

Thanks for the efforts...

Yea I hate it too, it is the most annoying voice clip I have ever heard in a game. I am going to try to load the toolset to change the voice.

Yes I agree.

Maybe someone could make a mod to remove that phrase? Or at least reduce its frequency...
