How do I view animations on models with custom appearances? Either within the model viewer ( I can't put change any appearance there) OR objects placed in areas ( how do I animate them?)
Thanks

There's an animation viewer plugin in the toolset that allows you to choose any creature model and play all the animations associated with it.

Right, but on the Animation Viewer plugin, I can't customize the appearance, i can only get the default human hair/clothes/face/skin. Is there any way around this? Can I put animations on models already placed in an area?

I believe that for what you want, you'll need to use a module set up to let you view animations on the PC or on a custom NPC in-game. I haven't tried this, but you should be able to set it up to use the appearance you prefer.

There's a similar module for viewing visual effects:

I thought I viewed already placed objects having animations. The have the default idle animation when placed with the "paint object" tool on an area. Is there any way to change the animation from default?

You dont have the .mod file type assigned to anything, so the browser tries to open it. Right-click on the .mod and select save as.Celydor wrote...

I would assume you try out that mod, it looks like a demo of various animations.Celydor wrote...

When I use the animation viewer, I'm able to choose any creature model in the game to look at by changing the appearance type. From memory, I think it's an option in one of the plugin's menus. I've found it invaluable for choosing animations for non-playable races to use in cinematic conversations.

You can't change hair, clothes or tinting, although you can set wing and tail options. Hair or clothing options shouldn't change the way the animations look though, unless you're using some custom models that are rigged differently.
