On BSN, the M-90 Indra doesn't seem to get much mention like other great guns like the Harrier, Claymore, or even amongst other snipers!

I loved it on my Tsent and then when the Drell Assassin was released, I slapped it on him just to see how he would do. He has been devastating ever since I paired him with the Indra.

The DPS for a sniper spec'd for sniper damage on TC rank 6 makes the Indra comparable to the Harrier, but with more ammo, and a built in scope.

So how come I do not see it used very often? You can weight glitch it too, making the HVB's weight a non-factor. Does no one else have it?

and the scope is a pro because???

If I'm gonna snipe it's with the Black Widow, Javelin or CSR. Not a Harrier wannabe.

Your TSent & Drell assassin are instantly inferior to mine.

if it could be hipfired without penalty it would only be not very good. as it stands, it is basically a crappy and less accurate CSR.

It is a lot of fun, but it doesnt seem to do much damage.

And I even find the ammo capacity to be a problem. Frequent reloads and frequent resupply. The resupply could be partly fixed with the spare thermal clip which I wouldnt use with the indra ( i'd use HVB and piercing/thermal scope) and there is no extended magazine for indra so I cannot make the annoyingly frequent reloads go away.

I'd rather not use a scope on my assault rifles.

I'm sure your T-sent is superior to mine, but the drell assassin with the Indra rocks, the scope is a 4X scope so it's not like other sniper scopes. it adds pinpoint laser accuracy without recoil!. the reload times are a hair slower then the Valiant.

I'm just saying that I use my Inda more than my Harrier and it is more fun. Could be that my indra is a IX (edited) and my harrier is a IV i think.

My BW is a X and so is my Jav. I love them both, but I just seem to do better with the DA and Indra. I top 120k on gold everytime I play. I usually end up in either 1st or 2nd place.

Gear, either Geth Scanner or Operative package, ammo, well anything but phasic, (cause it's not useful due to high rof and relatively low damge per shot vs. BW/JAV). adrenaline mod, sniper amp III as well.

I do with my Jav and BW, but I just seem to wipe spawns faster with the DA and indra then anything else. I've tried other builds on him but they just don't do as well. Including the Harrier build.

well at the same level, dps is about the same, harrier less total ammo, indra has more, reloads are about the same, weight goes in favor of the indra, Scope can be pro or con for some people but it's only a 4x scope unlike the other snipers.

But is the Harrier better? The Harrier has simply DPS on it's side, and if you are playing a game where there are 3 players using harriers, it's a serious problem. On plat, the indra barely has enough ammo for me with thermo packs augmenting me through the game. So I can't imagine running around to all the ammo boxes to get ammo. true most people will be kiting enemies. but still, i hate running to ammo boxes all the time.

Is it a crime to only use my Harrier with the Demolisher? :innocent:

beside if scopes are SO EWWW, then why all the love for the BW? you have to look through the scope to fire repeated shots or else the Widow will be just as effective with more damage.

It has a built-in scope, but not enough accuracy/stability to make use of the scope to get consistent headshots.

It is designed as a caster weapon, and yet its DPS is inferior to every other UR caster weapon and it cannot benefit from Power Amplifier mod or Warfighter/Shock Trooper gears.

It is a sniper rifle, and yet sniper Infiltrators have numerous better options to pick from. Practically half the sniper rifles are better because Infiltrators can cancel cooldown, making the Indra's low weight pointless.

It tries to be many things at once but ends up being nothing. It's only salvageable on the GI and the GE, and then only on Gold-, because the continuous fire expose you too much out of cover.

Hmm if everyone says it's garbage, why then am I able to top scoreboards with 120k plus games while helping out with objectives and what not and get 50+ assists. Am I playing it too effectively? How should I play with it so it is garbage like everyone else says?

Help me hate the Indra.

120k is a pretty garbage score if you're playing on Gold with full equipments and consumables.

If you're not using equipments or consumables it's an OK score. And the Indra is just that - it's OK.

Okay, you are all right I am garbage and so is my Indra.

Gees, so all this time I thought I was a decent player, but it turns out that I am garbage with 120-150k score avg or more... :-( I think i shall stop posting on here since it's for players that score only 250K in a pug or more to be decent... :crying:

Oh yes, volus are perfect, Indra is garbage. BSN at it's best. 150k+ (my best is ~220K) on Gold WITHOUT any consumables or equipment (but with 65663 GI, yes). Paired with incendiary ammo, absolutely platinum-viable. 20 headshots on Hydra? No problem, but they are not needed because Indra kills things fast enough even without them. Especially useful while playing on laggy hosts. Provides a WAY better situational awareness and close combat ability compared to heavy SRs.

I have seen you in action with the indra and I must agree you are the perfect example of how good this weapon can be, regardless of the philosophy of some BSNers "if it ain't easy to use, it's bad".

Indra simply deals low damage and is highly affected by armor.
.. but I find its biggest problem is that most casters do not benefit from scoping..

The Indra's a great gun if you're not a stuck-up min/maxer. Sure it's outmatched by the meta weapons (Harrier as a few have pointed out) but the Harrier's the least fun main gun in the game. It's just plain boring.

OP you should try out the Eagle and Crusader aswell. Also the Incisor is surpringly good. Would recommend stability bonuses (Turians, Barrage Upgrade, Stabilization Module) on them though until you get used the recoil.

By that logic the Widow, Black Widow and Javelin are the worst weapons in the game because casters don't benefit from scoping AND they get at least a 100% weight penalty.
