I find it amusing that he thinks that it says more about the person disliking Alistair's character than about Alistair's character, because I think his saying that says more about him than about the person disliking Alistair's character. And same to you.Sir Ulrich Von Lichenstien wrote...
he actually found it amusing that some people think that and actually think it says a hell of a lot more about them than it does Alistair.
Two can play that game.
Oh yeah? Well I think it says more about YOUR MOTHER.
Seriously though, these threads crack me up. All of the "I love/hate/don't get so-and-so," "Loghain must die/Loghain is great" threads seem like the posters within don't just have opinions about characters, they have religious convictions and must convert the unbeliever. You get the OP where they gush about who they love or hate, then you get the counter-attack, then OP retaliation, it's like the Crusades in here.

I stopped posting any discussion in threads like this about a month ago, they had already went through the same arguments three times by then. And when a dev chimes in, it's regarded as them trying to save their beloved characters. But still, something to read while I'm bored.

GIven all the cries of "Heretic!", I'd say it's not the Crusades, it's the Spanish Inquisition. And you know... nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!

I'm reaching that point as well. It's one of those conflicts that simply can't be resolved, it's a waste of time, and I'm getting dizzy watching it going in circles.

True enough. When it gets to the point where I can just copy/paste responses - and they always fit, it's time to look for new pastures

I enjoyed muslims most. NOONE could stop my arabs from conquering the world. Besides, it´s fun to have camel riders in the German or English forests.

But the greenest pastures are those that have been covered in manure.

I never got that impression about him at all.
Kudos to David for posting, I read his comment, then realized who posted it.
I'm like: oh snap!!!
Alister is awesome, certainly one of my favorite characters.

All of the characters are as deep or shallow as your perception of them.Costin_Razvan wrote...
Morrigan is by far a deeper character then Alistair. Alistair is just a child who when suddenly faced with a difficult situation breaks up and cries. Morrigan, even though she might care for the PC at the end, will do what needs to be done.
Hurray for thread necrophilia!

All of the characters are extemely well crafted.
Alister never cries, not even at your funeral. Not saying his eulogy wasn't heart felt and sad, but he never cries.
I cried.... (at my own funeral)

Tell you what.
Next time we put in a male lead, we will make sure to make him the manliest and most stoic creature you could possibly imagine. Just for you. He will be so manly he will suck the body hair right off of John Wayne and make Chuck Norris weep with envy. He will never show a single emotion, not even at his grandmother's funeral, and will never utter a single complaint about your actions... he will simply reach out of the game, slap you across the face and then take over the party.
The rest of the party won't mind, and neither will you... because he will be that awesome. Deep down inside you will resent him, and resent the fact that every NPC in every town the party enters falls in love with him and not with you. But that part of you also knows he deserves that love. Even needs it.
I am certain there is not a single fault that you or anyone could find with such a character.
Omg thanks for that laugh that was the funniest insult ever bioware just served you LOL.
But that gut busting moment aside i like alistar hes a gentleman and a very complex charater and shows that not everyone with power wants to have it. But really why do you want a manly man alistar is awesome only thing i disliked about him was his strength was lower then mine wen we were traveling so it took a bit to get him good armor

Also the mental image of Macho Alistair? Priceless.
FPC: Hmm....we go to Orzammar next. The dwarves need our help and it's not far fro --
Macho Alistair: *interrupts her* "Shut up, woman. We won't. Redcliffe, that's it. There I'll slap Eamon so long until he awakes from his fairy and poisoned dreams."
F!PC: *whimpers* ...h-how do you know this will work? Don't we need the sacred ashes to heal him?"
MachoAlistair: "No. There is no need for that, because I'm that awesome. And now get me my shield and sword, wrench."
F!PC: Yeeeees, Ser! *salutes*
